cheap eats ????

going to amsterdam for the 2nd time on monday , there till friday night but im on a budget and i remmeber food prices being sky high ! anyone know anywhere i can get some cheap food. im staying in hotel ben by the grasshopper 2 so the closer the better but i dont mind having to walk as far as say around vondle park.
any suggestions appraciated (Y)

also do any coffe shops let you bring your own food in ? i never tried last time but i tend to allways have fruit on me now so i can munch all the time haha

you can also shop at the local Albert Hjine , bread sandwich meat , snacks and drink for the room, be surprised what 10E can buy
about eating in coffeeshops doesnt hurt to ask, but i would buy a drink first then ask

goto the market just of kinkerstraat, Ten Katemarkt, Marco's fish place is great gebakken kibbeling, gambas or mosselen great lunch time snack for 3euro or under

Also on a thursday evening starting around 6pm there is a small cooked food market, which is a great alternative to a restaurant meal very busy with locals and plenty of people drinking wine and beer on the streets
