I was just being a bit flippant  Trees :D, of course some regulation and self restraint is cool. He says in a stern voice, wagging his finger.
What a long strange trip it is.

if you work. don't smoke during work hours.

if you don't work - then create a disciplined schedule

and like Bong says - it's your life. Everything "they" tell us is important really isn't. Love, laughter and good friends - nothing else matters. Enjoy the gift the planet offers!

Best of luck. I found keeping busy works during the first 2 weeks. It is the 1st 3 weeks that breaks the habit. The worst and best part is the dreams.
Thanks bong, spider and worldc. 8) I'm off smoking for good. Vaping all the way with eating as well. Wondering if the cloud counts as smoking for concentrates? Any thoughts?. Would be a shame to skip the bubble although oil could be ingested in a number of ways. Just a different process.

What is the motivation to have it be an annual event?

Just pressing the reset button for now. After the dust clears I'll hopefully balance/reconcile my consumption vs life's needs.
First 3 days were a little touchy but as things go it is 100x easier than stopping with the booze and 1000 times easier than tobacco.
In the end I just don't have time to get stoned and sit about very often anymore. Got responsibilities to attend.
Dreams have not returned properly but they will come.

Super intersting thread treetop

I'm an everyday smoker and was considering a break because the evening joint has been turning into this:

Get up. Do everything I need to do. Whether that is work, shopping, cooking, cleaning, exercise etc and then ASAP its time to hit the pipe, bong or joint. Usually by about 2pm on days off rather than the evening!

Just feel that as metioned earlier by you and others that I'm losing motivation for life outside of weed, getting lazy etc.

Not sure about a 4 month break though! Was thinking more like a month and then trying to stick to big weekends and a vape before bed....
