Headed Back to the Dam!

Post by myoung321 »

Well after going to Amsterdam last year for the first time... A day has not passed that I have not thought of returning.

The city woke me up to life again, made me pretty stoned at times too..haha... seriously though, When I was in Amsterdam last Sept/Oct I was reeling from some pretty bad medical issues..well fuck it.. I have some heart problems. Doctors pretty much told me there was nothing more they could do, other than pump me with pharmaceuticals. So I was in bad shape when I decided out of the blue last year to fly to Europe. Traveled the normal touristy stops. London, Paris.... but Amsterdam stuck with me for many reasons, no, not just good..ummm great weed... it was the people..Friendly, Tolerant, Artistic, Intelligent... Amsterdam draws a great mix of people and the city is a Museum.

Long story short.. I'm doing much better now... maybe I'll share more details in a travel log.. anyways...

The day is almost here!.... My wife and I will arrive at Schiphol on Friday and are staying until Sept 30th. 10 days of doing whatever.... other than Ajax -Volendam KNVB match on the 25th and Leti over at House of Tattoos continuing a tattoo from last year, we decided to just see where the days take us.   :?:  8)

Okay so more than likely Voyagers will be the first stop... What's suggested for weary travelers for first day rejuvenation? Maybe Strawberry Soul Diesel? Then maybe ease the first night away with the Kosher Kush x Skywalker Kush.... hmmm, yea that will probably work well..... oh wait, need a day starter for the next morning...hmmm maybe some good ole Amsterdam Amnesia. A familiar stone that will set the mood for the upcoming adventure.

Okay a couple questions...

1) So what is Testing Tuesday - Prince...?

2) Would appreciated a suggestion for hash from Voyagers... some mellow

Friday.... around 2pm... "Yes, 1 gm Strawberry Soul Diesel, 1 gm Kosher Kush x Skywalker Kush, 1 gm of my old friend Amnesia... and ...ummm...umm... hmmm.. okay that sounds good too!, Thank you, See you soon!"

Firstly glad to hear your health has improved !

1) Testing Tuesday happens every Tuesday at Voyagers, where they get a new strain in for the day (this week it was Prince) and always charge 10euors. Really good idea, a great way to try some very very unusual strains (I have never heard of the vast vast vast majority of them). But once it's gone, it's gone, so it is usually a good idea to get in fairly early if you want to try what they have (This is based off comments from other members).

2) Pretty sure Voyagers only stock one type of Hash, Tidal 2 (Moroccan), and it is 10euros. I'm afraid I can't comment on the quality as I haven't tried it ! For other places to get good hash, I'm told Betty Boop, Ibizia and De Graal all have a good name for hash =)

Hope you have a great trip !

Nice one Michael. Hope you enjoy your trip :D

I'm over with the missus 24-27 Sept so if you want to grab a beer or smoke sometime let me know.
I'd planned to visit amsterdam arena on the 26th to do the tour, but i see you say there is a game on the 25th?
Might go to that instead, but if memory serves me right you need to be a card holder of some sort (or at least i had to join some club and get a card when i went to a Feyenoord v PSV game a few years back)

Andy... you can go to http://www.ajaxtravel.com/en/knvb-beker and pick up tickets if you are from outside the Netherlands. The tickets for the KNVB (Dutch Cup) game on the 25th are really cheap compared to the normal Eredivisie matches. They have two choices.. 13.50 & 19 euro...

Last year I went to Ajax vs FC Twente and had a blast...The Arena and surrounding area is pretty cool.

Hey always up to meeting new people... maybe we can set up a Talk & Toke around the 25 or 26th

You have been posted on the September Whos In Town page.

You can see who else may be in town during your stay.

If you don't see yourself, click your refresh or reload button
Your browser sometimes loads pages from your local cache and
you don't get the latest update.

Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.

Set yourself up with your own T&T or Toke and Talk, where you pick the coffeeshop (your favorite)
and the date and time, I will post it and you wait for folks to show up, if they do you'll have a
T&T. If they don't you still get to enjoy your favorite coffeeshop!

By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.

memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=80710

I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.

You can do a little practice shopping on the Coffeeshop Menus page.
Any with arrows are less than six months old.

Any nice new menu pictures you can get will be much appreciated.
Always ask first, better told no than thrown out.

Enjoy

I too am there 26-30 with a pal. 5 days away from my beautiful family and the horrid world of work that is advertising. Cannot wait. Lets try and set a T&T if you don't mind a couple of 40 yr old stoners.

Glad to hear Amsterdam helped you n the way to better health.

That would make another 40ish stoner... the more the better :!:

Thanks, yes I think it did help with my health. It just kinda grounded me and showed me there is a whole world out there waiting to be experienced.

14 months ago I was pretty much told there was nothing else they could do. Already had heart surgery...meds..more meds. implant.... I had had more than enough.. That's when I went on my trip last year. I weighed in at 250lbs at 5' 10"... So I decided to look at lifestyle choices, especially food. I weighed in this morning at 167 lbs. Feel better than ever... Doctors are literally shocked. My heart function was dropping... not only has it now stopped dropping, but actually improved. One of my issues is irregular heart beats... amazingly weed makes my heart beat like a clock... I guess I just got sick of doctors wanted to work on symptoms instead of the reasons...

This trip is sort of a reward for all the tough times transitioning to not eating beef, pork, or chicken anymore and... passing all those cup cakes and pies.... So it's off to Amsterdam for a nice buzz and Panacakes! This time I brought my wife along. She has never been, so it's going to be fun.

Introducing a newbie to Amsterdam is always enjoyable to me. Kid in a candy store is fun to watch.

Enjoy

Looks and sounds good to me. I have to buy my pal a ruby for losing a bet. Goals scored in any euro league plus champs league last season. I picked Balotelli. If either of you know football? It was a very bad choice.

Anyway, we should be done by nine.

Voyagers would seem obvious?
