Arriving monday for 5 days. Thanks in advance  :P

Probably one of the nicer areas to stay. Right next door to the SW corner of Vondelpark you have c/s Tweedy on the other side of the park and a 15 minute No2 tram ride to Centraal Station from your doorstep. Whats not to like?

I am sure you will still have a great time. Staying Central is great, but there are a whole heap of coffeeshops people never get to see because they stay in the centre and never get round to leaving it (stoners eh).

De Pijp isn't far from you (30min walk to De Graal, 20mins by tram) and it has quite a few good coffeeshops (De Graal, Katsu, Club Media, Yo-yo, Greenhouse Tolstraat, Ibizia)

But yea, enjoy your stay, use your new location as an excuse to see all the great CS you would have otherwise missed through being too stoned and too far !

Welcome to the forum.

You have been posted on the September Whos In Town page.

You can see who else may be in town during your stay.

If you don't see yourself, click your refresh or reload button
Your browser sometimes loads pages from your local cache and
you don't get the latest update.

Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.

Set yourself up with your own T&T or Toke and Talk, where you pick the coffeeshop (your favorite)
and the date and time, I will post it and you wait for folks to show up, if they do you'll have a
T&T. If they don't you still get to enjoy your favorite coffeeshop!

By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.

memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=110374

I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.

You can do a little practice shopping on the Coffeeshop Menus page.
Any with arrows are less than six months old.

Any nice new menu pictures you can get will be much appreciated.
Always ask first, better told no than thrown out.

IMHO you have ended up in an excellent area in which to stay. Just remember to be polite and friendly and you'll get on fine. It is more of a locals area and the Dutch seem to appreciate well mannered, polite and friendly visitors to their country.

Above links shows some but not all CS - for example it does not seem to feature de Graal which is the 1st one I'd visit in your location.

Also I'd consider hiring a bike. Saves you time between coffee shops.
How much did you produce?

Just to echo what everyone else has been saying. That's a nice part of town.
I did the same thing once and picked a really nice looking luxury hotel for me and my friends, but it ended up about 5 miles out of the city. Not a problem though cause public transport is REALLY good.

FWIW gierenest has renovated and is now named 'Basjoes', their menu has expanded but prices went up. still a shithole

Boerejongens/Bij is very close by, just a small ways down the baarsjeskade.

i went past this new basjoes and was not impressed with the place or the selection for price, especially that far out of the center.

De prijs is just up the road and road from BJ's, seems busy with locals(in the smoking room anyway) and i think they have a pool table. friendly female BT's, had a really nice bit of white choco from here once that was more like a mild cheese :)

this as been discussed already. 't Gierenest must have changed management and is now called basjoes, it's not great and is nothing like the central shop
