Vaporizing Etiquette.
Heading over to the Dam over Xmas for my 7th trip. all my previous trips have either been just me and the Mrs or Me the Mrs and another couple. But this trip is different I'm getting 3 days away with a mate who has been a couple of times before,so we know are way around and where we want to go. Both of us want to vape and i have a few questions about vaping, i did do a quick search but couldn't easily find the information i was after.
Can the bags/mouth piece used be brought from most coffee shops that have a vaporizer or is this something best picked up from a shop?
Can the bags be used more than once?
Once you've got your bag full can you take your time or does the vape loose it's potency the longer it is left in the bag?
Does hash or weed work better in the vaporizer?
Will most budtenders be patient with someone who hasn't used a vapoizer before and show them how to operate it properly? Assuming there wasn't a load of people waiting in line.If so where would you guys recommend going for our first vape experience?
Thanks Doobie

-not sure the questioning, but if a shop has a vape, they will have the proper bags etc to use, if you have your own vape you best bring your own attachments. Not all shops have, and i havent actually seen a shop that sells the vapes

- Refill it, yes as many time as you can

-faster is better, it loses flavor and potency the longer you eait, but it also wont expire in seconds either
Does hash or weed work better in the vaporizer?
-weed works great, but it depends on the vape, hash can be a prob

-yes and no, depends on the shop
Thanks Doobie

Hi, while I haven't used a vape much and other members will answer this question with alot more certainty, I will try and answer a bit.
1) You don't need to buy or bring your own bag, coffeeshops with vapes have mouth pieces and bags if they have a vape that requires it.
2) Yes ! Like I say no need to buy your own I don't think (unless you particularly wanted to)
3) I don't think so. Provided the smoke is held in the bag (ie not leaking) you can leave it there as long as it takes you to get through it (I wouldn't leave it a really really long time, say over 3 hours, as it may go stale ? Mite be wrong there)
4) Not really sure. I think weed makes less mess in the gauze, but not sure. Both will work.
5) I have seen multiple people be shown how to use the volcano at Voyagers (conveniently one of the best places for bud in Dam as well), and although I can't comment with experience with any other shops, I imagine as long as they are not all hands on deck serving, you can get a quick demonstration or at least instructions. For first experience, I would recommend Voyagers if it isn't too busy, I hear Barneys have a vape on every table so that might not be a bad place either.
Hope that helps at least a little bit, I am sure other members will be able to add more and correct any mistakes =)

Re: Vaporizing Etiquette.
I really wish there were shops with vaporisers with wands like a shisha as big bags aren't my thing if I'm just having a chill. They could sell you a glass mouthpiece for a euro or something so you have your own.
Or do such shops exist with such apparatus ?

Re: Vaporizing Etiquette.
If you want someone to teach you to use a Volcano (most popular vape in the Dam), Barney's have one on every table and will send someone to show you how, no problem. Could be good for your first try.
Re: Vaporizing Etiquette.
Anyone knows which shop has Arizer vaporizers? I can't remember
The arizer "extreme Q" is a nicer vape than the Volcano & Verdamper, i think, or at least more versatile. It does both bags and wand.
Its fan speed can be adjusted so you have good control over how dense you fill your bags.
Verdampers are hard work, needs good technique from the user or end up with airy hits. The standard mouthpiece is rigid and sort of uncomfortable. And they contain way too much water, weakening the flavor.

I've never seen an arizer Q in any shop, mostly volcanoes. The arizer doesn't lend itself well to heavy use, it's much more delicate than the volcanoes.

Re: Vaporizing Etiquette.
Thanks for the replies and info guys, you've given me a good idea of what the deal is with vapes.
Will prob head to Barney's as arriving early morning, get my vaporizer lesson and then head on to familiar coffee shops.
Thanks again.

Re: Vaporizing Etiquette.
Just be careful with the mouth piece on the volcanoes...sometimes leftover bits get through the screen, nothing worse than a mouthful of left over vaped bud. Just give it a little tap on the table to clean it out.
Enjoy

Re: Vaporizing Etiquette.
The main thing to remember with vapes is to not get the bag stuck over your head then run about shouting 'It's not coming out' in a panic until a kindly patron assists in said vapes removal from your bonce.Doobietronic wrote:Thanks for the replies and info guys, you've given me a good idea of what the deal is with vapes.

As Balou mentioned there are verdampers for that purpose, which are awesome. But there is a two hose glass attachment for volcanoes, I'm not sure where you might find one in the DAM and the bag is a much better method for the volcano, but figured it was worth mentioning.spidergawd wrote:I really wish there were shops with vaporisers with wands like a shisha as big bags aren't my thing if I'm just having a chill. Yes, thanks I'll go for the verdamper. I use an arizer Q on the home front and find it very straightforward with minimal faffing about, and easy to put away. Our grandkids pop in and out so although me and the boss are career tokers and everyone knows it, too much lab kit on the kitchen table,,,,,
I digress, the verdamper, what I remember about the one I used was lots of bits of glass and red surgical rubber tubing and bubbling water
What a long strange trip it is.
