If the picture is already hosted online somewhere (like Google Images) then its really easy all you have to do is right click on the said picture and click on properties:

Image

You will then be greeted by a box that looks like this:

Image

Next highlight the Address (URL) like this and right click and copy:

Image

Then to get the picture on the forum you need to surround that Address URL with IMG tags like this using right click and paste:

{IMG}http://www.wwp-diemen.nl/pentekeningen/ ... s.jpg{/IMG}

You need to replace the {} with [] so you end up with it looking like this:

Image

You should end up with that picture on the forum:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Right next I'll show you how to use an online host for pictures you have taken yourself, I personally find this site the best: http://www.tinypic.com/

or

http://www.imageshack.us/

Click on the browse button:

Image

You will then be looking for the pictures that are on your PC, they will be where ever you have put them, I use the Pictures folder in documents for obvious reasons:

Image

Next up select the picture you want to have hosted, I've selected picture number 5 you then press open:

Image

Next step is to just press upload:

Image

Then you choose the appropiate link, I would go for the one I've chosen that reads for a forum or message board (primary)* again you just right click and copy the Address (URL):

Image

And then paste it into the forum like so:

Image

And you should end up with that picture viewable on the forum:

Hopefully this will help anyone thats not sure, enjoy!

I can't resist it...

If you're using Firefox, and you want to post an image that's already on the web, you can save a little time by rightclicking and selecting "Copy Image Location". This will automatically put the URL on your clipboard, so you can paste right away. Just another reason to spread fire.

Secondly, if you're sharing a large photo, please use thumbnails!

Otherwise you'll rip apart the forums (gasp!)

But I really couldn't have written this any better. Way to go Boner!

Unable to do that. When a page from the forum is selected that page is put together and any links such as links to pictures are loaded. The only way that you could do that is if the forum had database table which you would then be able to upload an image to...in the same way that you can with avatars.

It's very easy to use an image host on the web and most of the are free and secure...personally I use photobucket.com.

Waaay off topic, but:

Waay off topic, but:

Hey Boner,

Is that you — or my hero, Kevin Smith in your avatar?

Just wondering ...

It's kevin smith, on the set of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, I believe. Seen the gif before. =P Might not be the right movie, but that's definately taken from behind the scenes footage on a set of one of his movies.

Anybody know if there's any "trick" to doing this through this website http://allyoucanupload.webshots.com/ with an iMac?

Every file I try to upload, I get a message that says invalid file type. I'm using .jpg as the extension.

Thanks in advance.

Never mind, I figured it out...sorry to bother you all.

Go here if you want to see a nice sunset in Maui and hopefully I will soon have some past pix of various strains if anyone is interested.
