Lemming & Coffeeshopdirect.info

Post by slimline »

Hi all,

I'm sorry to say i have not been able to contact Lemming as yet.

You are probally aware I am the server admin that the forum is hosted on. I must first apoligise to Lemming and the users for hacking the forum, I did it after giving a lot of thought.

The method used for removing spam had to be drastic, I'm afraid a few users were deleted along with the spammers, anyone that registered after 1/10/2013 will have to re-register. Registration has been suspended until I can find a way of stopping the bots. I am considering registration via admin authorisation only.

I have setup a couple of email addresses for contacting Coffeeshopdirect.info they are :-

admin@coffeeshopdirect.com/forum
register@coffeeshopdirect.com/forum

Please contact me at the admin address.

I can offer coffeeshopdirect.com/forum email addresses to users, for people that don't want mail sent to their private email addresses. I would have to make a small charge for email addresses. $5.00 per year.

Hopefully Lemming will surface again shortly, at which time I'll hand the forum back to him and remove this notice.

Pete

Hi All
I'm back.
Just catching up on what's been happening in my absence.
I gather the spammers have got a bit out of hand and Pete/Slimline has been called upon to step in.
Sorry for any inconvenience and much thanks to Pete for helping out.

Hope everyone had fun at the HT Cup.

More soon when I've caught up...

So I'm told that the forum was absolutely flooded with spam. I guess the spammers noticed that their crap wasn't being deleted straight away and thought it was party time.

Peter/Slimline did some bulk deletion, removing recent members and their posts. He also stopped new members from joining temporarily. This cleaned up the mess but there may have been a little collateral damage in that some genuine members may have been kicked out.

If you had your membership cancelled or were unable to join, sorry about that. It's nothing personal. Please get in touch and I'll sort it out.
