Sooo I was looking to go to Dusseldorf and Antwerp from Amsterdam on my next Mokum excursion. Looking at a one way trip to Antwerp from Amsterdam is 40 Euro! And 70 euro for a one way trip to Dusseldorf! That just seems a bit high IMO. And those are for advance purchased 2nd class seats. Am I just a cheap friggin bastard

Or do ya'll feel the same way. I know if I still wanna go to those destinations on my next vacation I will have to cut out some necessities like food and weed, gulp
Are those prices wrong? Please tell me they are.

When are you traveling? Seats for the ICE and Thalys go on sale 92 days in advance and the cheap tickets can sell out in hours.

One way trips? How do you expect to return?
Looking at the Deutche Bahn website...
...I put into the search 60 days from today
...Mid morning to mid afternoon departures
...One way cost between 32.80 and 70.20, with the majority 56.80.
...Round trip, same day return cost about 113 Euros; same price with one overnight stay
With a Bahn Card 25, the cost is 19 Euro one way, 38 Euro round trip.
Membership has its privileges...
Want to see expensive rail travel? Look up City Night Line travelling in 1st Class Sleeper, Single. Be prepared for +400 Euros...
Happy Choo Choo...
