Hey guys, ive been keeping my eye on the rates for going home for christmas and everywhere seems to be a rip off when it comes to buying GBP's. My girlfriend used her bank card in the UK last month instead of taking paper money and got hit with charges and a awful rate so id like to avoid this. Does anyone know somewhere that is consistantly fair in Amsterdam where I can get a decent rate?
Cheers in advance guys.

not possible.
find a friend back in the uk who is travelling to the EU soon and do an exchange with them, each will benefit from better rates.
basically call your mum and tell her to give you 500pounds and you will give her 500euro

Exchange money in the UK, assuming that's where you are. Use http://travelmoney.moneysavingexpert.com/ to find the best rates.

If that was my mum she would say give me €575 and I will give you £500

It was a joke, my mum would nae give me 500 for 500 but she would give me a hetter rate than I would get here or in the uk converting euro to pound.
