I wish the place all the good luck in the world.

For people who dont know this is being run by the guy who opened a 'coffeeshop' in Stockport in the early 00's which obviously eventually got shut down and who handed a bunch of cannabis plants to the Queen.

This isnt going to be a coffeeshop so to speak but i am curious to see what the outcome will be when it opens. Being an ex-resident of Manchester if this place is a success will be give me a good reason for a visit after all these years.

Still not totally sure of the benefits of this exercise, but anything for the cause...

...Although, i'm guessing there could be some degree of danger involved... Not sure i like the fact that certain members of Manchesters underbelly will know where this place is, and what might be inside, or on the person of those leaving...

...Might just be paranoid, but i've been mugged twice in Manchester.

Still, might be worth it just to network!

Reading the news paper article he says that people will be invited to bring there own 'drugs' and later says people can come play chess have a coffee... then smoke.


Does he mean smoking weed? Won't he just get shut down again?

Outside smoking Area is provided but I will be honest, I am not gonna walk in the place with weed in my pocket, that would be just stupid. But its a start and tbh unless you have full membership and can get in for the 6-10 members only time you never know.

Think of it as a starting block, maybe a place people can get a link to a local underground cs that does sell weed

One thing is certain, they won't be selling weed in any form but in that area they won't need to, its rife around there.

Ill have a browse tomorrow for the link but it could have been an update on the Cafe's facebook page. Seems like he has been having on going discussion with the police which has made him change some of his policies. Such as membership and smoking etc.

As you said its a great way for fellow smoker to meet one another and discuss legal things, growing etc.

I hope its a success and also highlights to the wider public us smokers aren't scum or criminals.

I doubt ill ever make it to the place just because of my location but if there's more opening up nearer me ill undoubtedly join and hope to find the underground CS

hi there folks i have been busy this week in talks with the landlord who owns the property, he is getting pressure from the police not to lease the place to me, they have made what i and he considers threats as to repercussions that may affect his other business in Manchester.
(They don't want that type of people in the area ?)

i told them it would just be a cafe, but they say we know what will happen and we don't want people breaking the law.
whatever happened to innocent until proved guilty ?
i knew it would be a challenge when i set out to do this and i am ready to fight for the right to have a place where cannabis consumers can call there own to socialise,
I started this campaign dec 10th and didn't know how many like minded folks i could bring together, well its surpassed all my expectations, so far a BIG THANKS to you all , do you think we can show them on FEB 1st that cannabis consumers come from all walks of life and are just normal,
that we want to change the law not break the law

Sad news... Should have expected something like this to happen. I'm sure some repercussion could be leveled at the authorities for their assumptions... Even if they might be right.

Hopefully, it won't end here... I still might keep an eye on proceedings and turn up for whatever "actions" Mr Davies proposes in future.

On the bright side, any debate regarding the legality of a cannabis "social club" could lead to some very interesting outcomes.

This could be the shortest opening of all time... closed before the doors even open?
Find another suitable location, perhaps keep the owner in the dark... until the cafe is raided and closed.

I support the efforts, however I don't think this is very productive.
Want to decrim/legalize? Massive, and I mean MASSIVE smoke outs around the UK...
...let the rozzers arrest people, overflow the courts system.
Don't stop at just one... as an example, repeat every Saturday at 4:20pm until the Parliament removes its collective head out of its collective arse and change the laws.
Again, the more the rozzers arrest, the more clogged the court system becomes... easy for me to say, i'm not the one facing a criminal record... but then again, the UK ain't my country...

...Might manage to get down there and take a gander... Probably best leaving the weed at home, though.

Come to think of it; this would be the perfect time for me to sample the new(ish) burrito bar at picaddilly gardens... Been tempted for months now, but never had a good enough reason to go into town.
