Ibericus...bring on the ham
Ibericus...bring on the ham
Hey folks, last time I was in the dam I discovered a great place called Ibicerus (near Barney's and greenhouse) that had all sorts of delicious ham ..,just wondering if any similar places in the area. Thanks!

You're right - this place was AMAZING. You can tour the place on Google maps.

Never been to Ibericus, but Iberic Ham is hands down the very best cured ham in the world IMHO.Once you've tasted it, nothin can really compare!!
As for the price, well it can get outrageously expensive in Spain (5 jotas) around 200 EUR per kgs fr the very best so I don't wanna know the price in DAm!!
That said, you can get good Iberico ham for as 'little' as 25 E per KG.
The Iberic pigs (look more like small wild boars) are bred in open fields and forest in Extremadura and eat a lot acorns (bellotas in spanish).Hams are cured for min.12 month.
That shit is truly addictive...

Walked by this place at least a half dozen times, blacked out windows, thought they had closed down...
Turns out they are only open until 6pm. Wish I figured that out sooner, would have had lunch here more than once. The sandwiches are pretty good - not as good as I remember from my travels in Spain, but good. The sandwiches seem to be made up of bits of ham, not the perfect thin slices I remember from Spain. I didn't sample anything else... Theres a tapas counter in the back, some prepackaged stuff for takeaway, and a really nice selection of jamon available to be sliced.

Why drink and drive when you can smoke and fly?

Not sure how good it is but it's overpriced for sure, when it comes to value for money that ham place would be a few notches above Barneys I believe.jono43 wrote:Hi folks,
