Coffeeshops lose court case against restricted hours

Post by AmDamMan »

I am here now, unfortunately the coffeeshops involved in the case against the restricted hours have lost and from tomorrow will open from 6 in the week. Sad times. It's bad enough they're closing them without kicking them when they're down.

I'm looking at going over for the Christmas Holidays. Does anyone know when the Amsterdam schools close for Christmas and New Years?

Argh, this sucks. It means I will have to walk quite far for some decent supplies as I live in the centre. :|

utopia, hgf, Betty boop, Ben, 420 and de kroon all closed pre 6 today. Didn't check everywhere but don't look like anyone's break in the rules. Sad day for a lot of people.

Sorry for being stupid, but could someone explain this to me a bit? I don't know if I get it right. Is it nowadays that coffee shops can open up at 18:00? Or what the heck was that about? I'm confused.

oh?

geez, the government is giving them time for a slow painful demise. Just dragging out the death knell, heh?! Any chance the shops will reposition themselves as pot friendly bars or lounges -- (not certain there is enough money to be made that way - but….) do the owners and workers get any kind of government safety net to help offset the loss of their jobs or their business? Can owners relocate? What's the story MH, do you know the details?
