Well other than the train (my girlfriend wont be able to lug her bags around, and she has to many for me to carry) what is the best way to get to the airport..

i have checked a few shuttle services such as conexxion, and they dont drop off at my hotel... which is the sofitel grand demeure amsterdam.

anyone use a shuttle service they like and that is decent.

Get the train. Cheapest and quickest.... Tell your girlfirend you'll spend the difference on her, she'll be carrying those bags like a goodun.

someone else mentioned taxi, not sure how much that would cost though. i love the train ride into dam though, only done it twice but its just the most excitin train journey ever ha ha

I'm with the pack on the train. Teach your GF to travel light. They have laundromats there.
A taxi will be 40 - 50 euros.

lol u try telling her that ... hahahah, i would rather spend the 50 euro on the cab then listen to her complain about the weight of her bags etc... im sure she will also be in a better mood when she can arrive at the hotel nice and easy with no complications.... another note is the plane ride is 9 hours for us, and when we land , it will realy be like midnight or just after iin our minds, and it will be like 8 AM or so amsterdam time. i doubt either of us will be up for the hike.

also im sure i would need to cab from central station to my hotel anyway, so in the end it isnt that much more expensive... especially when u consider the headache's saved..lol

i called the hotel and they said dont spend more than 50 euro on cab ride..


thanks anyway, but i dont think the train will be an option on the way from the airport to the hotel.... lol

A handy tool for beating jet lag is to NOT compare your surrounding to what time it is "back home". From the minute you walk on the plane, set your watch and start living acorrding to the time at your destination. FWIW.

What watch? When I'm there, time is not something I keep track of.

When I'm there Time is something I'm unable to keep track of!

I am in the same situation...
I hope I am not hijacking too badly and rather getting answers for the same situation.

If we pack lightly, I could see how taking a train to Central Station and then a Tram to the Hotel as being an awesome experience.

But what if the bags become too much of a burden?

Do the Taxis from the Airport to the Hotel carry 4 passengers and bags?

That being said... Can the 72 hour multi-day pass be purchased from anywhere else other than the tourist information booth at Schiphol?
