solo trip 21-22 feb 2014

just came back from my 4th trip to my second favourite country ever (my 1st being Scotland OBVIOUSLY). I only booked it less than 24 hours before I left and only got euros on my way to the airport, this was all down to being stoned and lazy though. Thursday was going to be my preparation day to get throwaway grinder, euros, extra raws etc but this all went out the window when a mate wanted me to try some Moroccan blonde hash he had just acquired turns out is was good and no supply run was ever made.

my unpreparedness left me only taking money, clothes, passport and a shit throwaway phone (I have previous of losing/breaking phones abroad so my new rule is always take a shit phone, which is why there is a lack of pictures). I didn't even have time to print off any maps which is always a must for me.

Friday 21st

my flight wasn't until 11 am so I set my alarm for 8 and after a couple bowls of chiesel I checked acd for the last time before setting of for the airport. had to tell my mate my flight was at 12 because I knew he would be late which he was. stopped at the post office to pick up euros then smoked two jack herer kief joints before getting to the airport. suitably baked and stinking of jack herer I went through security easily enough, then had a pint and a fry up while waiting to board. this is when I got a phone call from my mum usually I wouldn't answer because the topic of conversation is normally don't get mugged and don't drink/smoke too much, a conversation that no boy should have before they go to ams, decided to answer this time though and im glad I did because all she wanted to tell me was that my games have arrived, this really confused me so I told her I hadn't orderd anything in a while and asked her to open them, she said there were two dvds and as soon as she said this I instantly remembered my mate had said he was sending me stuff from a cannabis club in Barcelona so I asked if they were still selotaped and she said yes which made me very happy. will post more about this in other topics.

so the flight went smooth think it takes about an hour or just over n hour, got talking to some people at the train ticket machine thing who helped me out and although they didn't know it I just followed theyre every movement to central station and it seemed to work for me. so within five minutes of leaving central station I had eyes on the room I has stayed in only a few months ago I cannot remember what number it was though its the one directly above voyagers door with a small balcony.

I decided I would pick up some supplies before going to voyagers so popped into a small shop on the same street as central coffeeshop just a few doors down I think, went in asked for raws and the guy then tried to get me to buy everything but, he was picking up hoodies saying this would look good on me then asked if I needed a mug for my coffee in the morning I was pissing myself at this point but I got a grip and said I was in a hurry then his next sale tactic was to just ask me if I wanted any ecstacy not very subtle I might add, after I politely declined I walked round to voyagers and picked up 2 grams of sour power and 2g strawberry sour diesel didn't stay as it was pretty packed so went down to greenplace and picked up 2g twizzla and a sprite stayed in here for a sour power x twizzla spliff for some reason I love to mix herbs and hash when im in town anyway the joint went down a treat.

wasn't really keeping track of time so not sure what time I left greenplace, headed off towards the damrak to get a taxi to my hotel stopped in at Kandinsky and 420 before getting the taxi, I really need to smoke in Kandinsky one time its a cool little place bought 2g fatimas hand as no weed jumped out at me walked over to 420 and bought 1g 420 kush and 1g blueberry this was bought as a filler for the hash. jumped in a taxi and after the driver staring at the bit of paper I gave him with the address for about 5 minutes we set off. took quite a while to get there as Amsterdam and driving just don't go.

I was staying at the hotel piet hein which I only booked because it was on smokers united which is a website that has a list of smoking hotels and it turns out its pretty far away from all the good shit and I only found this out when I picked a tourist booklet up with a map on it wasn't to bothered as it was only for a day but just a warning for anyone going in the future. checked into my room fine no1 mentioned anything about smoking so I just opened a window and rolled one as I had a few phone calls to make. rolled around a gram of the ssd and I liked it a few mates had tried it previously from voyagers and raved about it so im glad I got to try it, I don't think It was very powerful but the taste was lovely. I ended up staring out the window for about 15 minutes wondering why I didn't bring my I pad for internet didn't let this put me off though so grinded up a little bit of blueberry and mixed it with the fatimas had which created a taste explosion I mainly tasted the fh which was lovely, a very thick smoke and unique taste.

thanks for the replys guys il finish the rest of the report tomorrow but since im testing my new wares I might aswell write about them. I smoked a joint before I could weigh it all but iv got 11.3g here so it was probably 12g in total.

I don't know the name of the club it was purchased from but every bud smells very different to each other and it all looks lovely heres a list of what I have:

1g cheese hash
1.3g Mexican hash - this is what I smoked and its amazing full of flavour and so sticky
2g cream caramel - the smell of this makes me want to move to Barcelona
1g o.g kush - smells like kush with a slight orangey tang to it

the next dvd case contained:

3g grapefruit - would have liked more variety than 3g of the one kind but my mate wrote THE BEST next to this soim guessing its good
1g mango
1g black cheese
1g afghana - smoked a bowl of this 5 mins ago tastes great especially with some fatimas hand sprinkled on top

Nice read. If you're able to find out any more info about the club your mate went to in Barcelona I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know. I'm headed there in may and have done a lot of research on the clubs, I've already contacted a few who've agreed to let me join but with the membership fee I won't be wanting to join too many as i'm travelling with my mum who doesn't really smoke. Any info from someone who's been will be welcomed
Also, glad to hear the cream caramel impressed, I have some of this er... coming my way so to speak for the first time in a few Weeks.

In June last year I went to visit a friend of mine that has been living in Barcelona for a few years now, and one of the first things we did was went to an association named "Kush" on Carrer de Freixures. Had a very sketchy feel to the place when I first entered as there was a rather large and serious looking man present waiting to check membership cards and signal to the guys inside that it's ok to open the next door which is all operated by a buzzer system (safety first I guess, it's still very much a grey area over there as far as I understand). Now of course I was not a member and the only way to gain membership was by having an existing member "invite" you (that was the policy as of 15th June, haven't spoken to my friend in a while however). So they got me a sign up form, which basically says I sign over my rights to legally grow a small amount in my home to this association. (Again, not quite sure what the law is on this one, to me that implied that memberships should only be given to residents?) not very much information required - name, DOB, passport number, membership number of invitee etc.

So i'm finally handed a membership card, after the lady that brought the membership form out spent a minute or so seeking reassurance from my friend that i'm a "decent" guy. The door opens and we head in, there are a few tables immediately as you head in and a bar to the right with a larger chill out space beyond that. The first thing that struck me was how uncomfortably hot it was in there. There are no windows so there is no natural light or air, and the lighting makes the place look like a strip club! We took a position at the bar. It was quite noisy inside and I looked to my right and there was a large (42+ inch) TV running FIFA 13 on the PS3. Some Spanish lads were playing and there were quite a few spectators fully engrossed on the events unfolding on the virtual pitch. So my friend already has a joint rolled and he lets me spark up. As I start to smoke I can feel someone lurking behind me so naturally, I turn around and can see a queue has started to form for a mystery door I failed to spot upon entry.

I asked my mate what the deal was and he explained that because things are still fairly hush hush when it comes to the actual buying and selling of weed, the budtender has his own office if you like, with again - a buzzer system locking behind you on entry. Intrigued, I decided that when the queue died down I would go and see what they had to offer. So I greedily smoked the majority of the joint as I watched the queue die down and tried not to look like the only one suffering from the heat. I joined the queue and eventually my time came. I entered a smallish room where a happy chappy BT greeted me and showed me a menu scribbled on an a4 sheet of paper (not what I expected - they had branded grinders and merchandise for sale behind the bar so I assumed they would at least have some sort of printed menu). The variety was not great. Blue Cheese, Gringo, G13 Haze (12 euros a G), Bubblegum (9 euros a G) & Trainwreck (13.5 euros a G) were the available options. Asked to look at the Trainwreck and it was pretty outstanding if i'm honest, more than I expected after tasting whatever weed it was that my mate had put into his joint. They had 3 choices of hash which I overlooked as they were quite cheap and took 2 grams of the Trainwreck and a gram of the Gringo.

Feeling tired from the day's travelling and now starting to feel pretty high, I mentioned to my mate that I would much rather chill somewhere outdoors due to the heat. We found a nice spot by the waterfront at the bottom of las ramblas and proceeded to smoke and catch up. Both purchases ticked the boxes for me. The reality of a week in the blazing Barcelona sun with easy access to good quality weed was settling in - hallelujah! We decided to get a bite to eat then head back to my friends apartment. When we got to his building we climbed 4/5 sets of stairs and he introduced me to one of his neighbours. We went in for a joint and he scowled at my friend for allowing me to "come to his country and get robbed". As friendly as he was, I didn't understand where he was coming from. He then proceeded to pull several large jars of weed out of his cupboard. "From me.. 1 gram.. 6 euro!" he said "50 euro 10 grams man!". He proceeded to open up the jars and let me inspect the contents. He had no idea what any of the strains were but 2 out of 3 smelt, looked and felt great so I decided to take 5 grams of each. Absolute bargain!

In short, Barcelona is a vibrant, beautiful city to explore and if you are thinking of visiting kush, my experience (which is a colossal ONE association ONE time EVER) says you're better off buying and flying and finding a nice spot to have a smoke. In terms of finding smoke anywhere else - Parc de la Ciutadella seemed to have a permanent weed cloud over it and lots of young people chilling and smoking at all times day and night. We were offered weed & hash at good prices many times by normal enough looking guys that spoke good english and were willing to let you check it out before handing over the cash (obviously not recommending this however, just an option if you're desperate). Sorry for rambling on, just trying to give you some information you may find useful! Give me a shout if you have any questions.
