Canal boat rental.

It's mine and a mates 30th next year and we fancy mixing it up a bit. We fancy renting a big boat for 4-6 of us for a week. So iv done a bit of googling Strand Horst start and end up close to amsterdam? How close can we get? Anyone done this route before? We'd love to be able to cruise for a few days stop close to town for a couple days to re-stock supplies.Then head back.

Any one with experiences of doing this or similar? Is it ok to smoke and cruise. Surely go hand in hand hardly a fast paced pursuit.
