Delft

Post by hilian »

Thinking of catching the train to Delft for the day, our last visit was part of a coach trip and only had an hour to look round which is no way long enuff. I saw there were a few c/shops listed but all the reviews were at least 10 years out of date.
Has anyone been to any and are they any good etc
Any info will be gratefully received thx.

We were in Delft in 09 -or 010 , not quite sure . The CS scene at that time was really piss poor compared to other NL cities .
With only two shops Vlouw , and the Game where you could buy ,sit and smoke ... those shops were nice enough , the Game being loud ,raucous, crowded , and fun ...Vlouw being quite the opposite. We heard that when the 08 Smoking ban went into effect the Delft Coffeeshops ran scared and closed off their seating areas to be strictly buy/go places . Personally Delft isn't on the list for NL cities to revisit though market day can be fun if you're into that sort of thing.

Well I do love a market lol, but thanks for the info. To be honest I'm not going to Delft for the coffee shops but to look at the town more, it's just I thought if there is a place I would check it out.
A few times I've been to Haarlem for an afternoon and enjoyed the vibe, but not strayed much from the Dam as I've been too occupied trying to visit as many c/shops as poss, nearly done em all now (prob only about 10 in outta the way places I haven't been to)
