Where to stay?
Where to stay?
Hi all,
I'm planning a two night stay with a group of 4 (our first in Dam for 8 years) on the 1st-3rd October.
We are looking for a smoke friendly apartment/ private room that is relatively central and on a budget.
Any of you experienced heads got any suggestions or links?
Cheers,
Ric

Welcome to the forum.
You have been posted on the October Whos In Town page.
You can see who else may be in town during your stay.
If you don't see yourself, click your refresh or reload button
Your browser sometimes loads pages from your local cache and
you don't get the latest update.
Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.
Set yourself up with your own T&T or Toke and Talk, where you pick the coffeeshop
(your favorite) and the date and time, I will post it and you wait for folks to
show up, if they do you'll have a T&T. If they don't you still get to enjoy your
favorite coffeeshop!
By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.
I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.
You can do a little practice shopping on the Coffeeshop Menus page.
Any with arrows are less than six months old.
Any nice new menu pictures you can get will be much appreciated.
Always ask first, better told no than thrown out.
You may want to look over the AirBnB Amsterdam selections.

Get yourself to zeeburg and hire an Eco cabin or a wagonette... Great place to stay for a laid back attitude to smoking, only 4 stops on tram to CS and within anyone's budget..

Hi Ric, you could try "bedandnet"
its a smoker friendly penthouse, may be a bit cramped with 4 of you but they do have other rooms.

Re: Where to stay?
I thought the tram from Zeeburg goes to and via Square than CS?. As the tram map I looked at suggests it doesn't go to CS (Centraal Station?).Ganjaman70 wrote:http://www.campingzeeburg.nl

But yeah, never heard a negative works about the Zeeburg campin site and staying there myself in 13 days.
Re: Where to stay?
Dave J you are correct. Tram 14 goes via Dam to the west and not to Centraal Station.
Are you stoned? Like a gravel road bitch, like a gravel road!
Re: Where to stay?
We've had to rule the penthouse out because they've no availability. Looking into the campsite.

Re: Where to stay?
Hello welcome to the ACD. Me and my daughter got a good canal boat from Airb&b last year, and I would think there should be plenty of choice and good deals going in October.
Have fun

What a long strange trip it is.

Re: Where to stay?
I never knew about the tram from the square, I always took the 26 outside CS and that was 4 stops.. If I fancied a walk over the bridge at zeeburg I'd them take the 7 to leidsplein but that was a long journey.

Re: Where to stay?
Your actually right, I assumed you might have wrongly been referring to a daytime bus service or some stoner situation. But yes, the 26 tram does indeed go from near the Zeeburg camp, just the other side of the bridge just outside the coach station\park. The 26 might be just a few minutes more walk than going for the 14 service but does seem a far quicker option to CS just as the 14 is the better option for Dam Square.Ganjaman70 wrote:I never knew about the tram from the square, I always took the 26 outside CS and that was 4 stops..
