I can't honestly remember but I think the default is probably the station you are at, dont worry though they are real easy to work.

Ive never got a (UK) card to work in any of the ticket machines.

ive found that the machines at the airport will take the card and the ones at central station wont!
my last trip i tried about 12 of the stupid things and they all said "invalid card!"
but my irish card works in them all! which was a pain since i forgot it on my last trip!

i always keep enough of the small change from previous trip to get a ticket....i know i'll always return ...even if its just to transfer flights

Thanks for this guys , my guide book stated there was no ticket booth and the machines were in dutch only.

the problem is that the most of the machines only allow coins... yes you heard right only coins!!! so buy a ticket for 30€ is hard^^ if you buy it on the service points it cost only 50 cent... not the world

ps there is a button for english language on the ticket machine... but it was not easy to find... it was either up or below on the touchscreen...

Nothing, in busy times you are a little more likely to get a seat in 1st rather than 2nd, and they are slightly posher

There is a machine in the ticket office section that changes 5 and 10 Euro notes to change so that you can use the ticket machines

I would say that I have tried to use both my Visa and Mastercard at these ticket machines, and have not been able to use them.. the same goes for any restaurant or shop taking these cards.. all because 'maestro' is not on the cards.. so when you travel, be wary of this.

The way around it, is to go to an ATM and withdraw the cash using either one of those cards, and just use cash everywhere..

If you can’t read and speak Dutch language, so don’t worry about it, because now the world is growing very fastly. There are a number of language translators available online and offline in pdf and in some other platform. You can easily make uses of these. Thanks.
