Day1-
De Kroon - The first shop I purchased from, mainly because so many other coffeeshops were packed full with people hiding from the rain. They only sold their bud 2 grams at a time, so I got the super lemon. It was actually some kick-ass weed with a really strong head buzz, almost psychedelic and had me staring at nothing and smiling for ages. Worked out at 15 euros a gram, wouldn't pay that much again for it though. Actually not a bad shop to chill in, despite the weird music and people apparently sleeping on the couches lol.
Voyagers - After the rain had stopped I headed back up to Voyagers and surprisingly found it empty. BT was really helpful and polite, he was happy to let you see and smell any weed you wanted - naturally I viewed them all before making my choice. I got a gram of Kosher Kush which wasn't as great as the other times I had it nor did it taste very good in a joint. I also picked up a gram of Lemon Bubble and a gram of Shoreline. The Lemon Bubble tasted and smelled better than the lemon from De Kroon, but the effects were not as hard hitting. LB is a great tasting strain and probably the best tasting weed of the trip. Shoreline was recommended by the BT after I commented on how great the LB smelled, he said "man if you like the Lemon Bubble you got to let me show you the Shoreline!" - and I wasn't disappointed
Betty Boop - I always pop in here for a gram of the SSH. It never disappoints, great batch as always. One of my favourite daytime strains.
Day2-
Barneys - Grabbed a gram of the G13-Haze for my morning smoke, nice and uplifting and not too overpowering. Was very crowded in the shop, so it was more of a buy and fly.
Greenhouse - Ended up having a lovely full English Breakfast here whilst smoking on Barney's g13 and a cheese joint from the greenhouse. Picked up a gram of the Flowerbomb Kush just to see what all the fuss was about, glad I waited until night to roll some of it up because it nearly put me to sleep! I'm glad I've tried it now I probably never will again, I do love a strong indica but its not worth it for the price of a single gram.
Prix D'ami - Headed back into centrum after lunch time and wandered into prix d'ami. Never been in here before, but the security guy on the door was really friendly and made banter with us before we went. My girlfriend picked up a gram of the Dr Grinspoon but it was pretty disappointing in all aspects - it didn't really smell of anything, the bag was basically made up of tiny twig-like buds and the high was more off a mild buzz than the "soaring high" that was described on the menu. Claimed to have 22%+ THC in it also but that obviously wasn't true. Despite this, the staff were all super friendly, the drinks were unique and tasty and it had 3 floors with really cool decor and lighting. I'd definitely chill in here but probably just avoid their weed.
Hunters - Picked up 1g of Bubblegum. Very tasty and smooth smoke
1e Hulp - Finished the day here by meeting some friends and having a big session that night. Already had alot of weed still left, but continued to purchase more once I got here and I had good reason to! Always loved this coffeeshop, definitely my favourite in the Dam. Never once been disappointed with the weed in here, no matter what I've bought. Ended up buying a gram of Intensive Care, LA x Kandy Kush, Shoreline and Casey Jones. A very stoney night as you can imagine...however the Shoreline wasn't touched and I actually got a nice surprise when I woke up and remembered I hadn't smoked it
Day3-
Greenplace - got a gram of the LA Confidential out of here. Was expecting big things after the LA cross i'd smoked in 1e Hulp the night before but it didnt come close, more of a mellow body stone but not actually that strong - it was the same price in both shops (13E). I noticed a new strain on the menu I'd heard of but never found in a coffeeshop - Headband. It was 15 euros for the gram, but definitely worth the price. Nice big fluffy, crystal covered buds that ground up really well and made for a really smooth smoke. Went down a treat. The high was cerebral mostly at first then it creeps up on you, making your eyes really heavy and your face feel like rubber. It was very different to the other strains I had been smoking and I really enjoyed it.
Bagheera - 1g of Sour Kush and 1g of Mt Cook. More indicas for me please
Voyagers(again) - My girlfriend wanted another gram of the lemon bubble to we went back here again. I thought maybe the Kosher batch I got wasn't the best so I thought i'd give it another go - and it was definitely better. Like a sledgehammer between the eyes
1e Hulp(again) - After the last 10 coffeeshops or so we realised that we really wanted to be back in 1e Hulp again, it's such a great place to chill. I like all types of music generally but mostly all you hear in coffeeshops is club music, loud-ass rap and a bit of reggae so it gets a bit monotonous. The first night spent in 1e Hulp they mostly played the above mentioned loud-ass rap but we talked and laughed over it as we were in a big group. This night they played a bit of everything, including some nice chill hip-hop which really set the mood. Ended up chatting with some other people we met here and sampled their Lavender, Strawberry and Lemon Haze that they had all purchased in 1e Hulp. All tasty:)!. I ended up purchasing the SSSD, which smelled nice and sour and burned really nicely with a white ash. I also purchased the Enemy of the State under the BT's recommendation of a good nightcap and was not disappointed, it did the job
Day4-
After visiting some museums and then the zoo, we decided to spend our last day relaxing in the hot sun and getting totally blazed
Kashmir Lounge - Purchased 2g of Amnesia from here and it was really strong, but harsh on the throat but it really spaced you out. It's a good example of this strain. My friend also purchased 2g of Jack Herrer and said similar things about it, although I never tried any.
De Overkant Hortus - a tiny little shop just on the corner up the street from the zoo. We stopped in here to smoke a few of our own joints and have a coffee. Friendly staff and cheap drinks to be honest. I stayed in a hotel just down the road a few years back and found it frustrating that any good coffeeshops weren't really in walking distance but I have no idea how I managed to miss this back then. Menu looked decent but small. Nice selection from Cheese to Diesel to Candy Kush. Sat here for maybe half an hour and saw at least 25 different people come in to buy and leave, so maybe the weed is decent here
Bluebird - grabbed 1.2g of Super Silver Haze to smoke before heading to the airport. Not as good as Betty's, but still a bargain for 12.50.
420 Cafe - our flight was at 11pm so at about 9.30pm we stopped in to 420 cafe to pick up some spacecakes for the flight. They were good and I always enjoyed the mellow stone they give, but I feel like I have to comment on the BT's attitude in here. After paying the BT for the spacecakes I turned to leave, and he called me back, I turned around and he had his hand reached out, so I asked him what he wanted. He ignored me and shoved his hand further towards me, and me being the good humored fellow that I am, gave the guy a high five. Boy he was NOT happy. He started tossing things and yelling in Dutch at me even though I had no idea what he was saying and then put his hand out one more time. I just gave him a really long stare and he eventually blurted out "you took the wrong change". Oh sorry, I didnt realise it was my fault that you gave me the wrong change, how foolish of me for not knowing. I shrug it off, smile at him, and reach in my pockets. I pull out a 2euro coin and count it up in my head realising I should only have 1 euro change. I go to hand him back the 2 euro coin expecting him to exchange it for a 1 euro, only for him to say "no you just give me 1 euro". SO I go digging in my pockets searching for 1 euro to give to him, then he gets fed up and complains I'm making him lose customers and tells me just to forget about it. Why give me the wrong change then get upset about it? Meh, I gained 1 euro
Thanks for reading, I'll try upload some good menu photos soon. I got one for most of the places I visited, or at least the ones I remembered anyway!
