Café Loetje served me up the best fillet steak of my life. Nothing has beaten it yet!
That definitely gets my vote. Never had anything other than the ribs at De Klos, but the place is always busy which is generally a very good sign!

Toro Dorado is probably the best and is centrally located. Ate there once as a treat, it was very good. I got one of the cheaper and smaller steaks and the bill (with a couple of glasses of wine) came to 60E (single diner). Everything was really impeccable but I would not eat there again as it is too dear for me these days. 60E buys a lot of herb.

Cafe Loetje - Amsterdam’s old-time favourite

Praised for over 20 years is Cafe Loetje’s tenderloin steaks. Cafe Loetje is as the name suggests a ‘cafe’, aka a Dutch (dark brown) bar, where you can better opt for beer than wine. One can’t reserve a table, so you may have to wait at the bar for an hour before getting a table. The steak served in a butter-sauce has been consistently good over the past decades and are really worth the wait. Remember: Cafe Loetje is for meat lovers only, and those enjoying a lively, local Dutch ambiance. With good weather, you can sit outside, where the noise level is lower. cafe loetje, Johannes Vermeerstraat 52, Amsterdam. T. 020 662 81 73

Cafe Loetje - had a good meal - the chips are the best I have ever tasted but the butter pan-fried steak was too greasy\rich for my tastes
La Pampa - Argentinian steak house (50yd from Royal Palace in Dam Sq (down LH Side as facing) - must have eaten there 20+ over last 10yr - their Filet de Lomo is superb. (I have never eaten better steak anywhere - and I am fussy)
de Klos - never eaten their steak - but they serve the best ribs in Dam.

I've been in the Argentinian one, you're on about.
Wife had the steak said it was nice.

Was reasonably priced as well.

Having read through some of the travelogues, the pictures of the ribs and steaks at De Klos, look amazing.

Will definitely be on my list of places to eat while I'm there.

Slightly off topic but... 'The Butcher' on Albert Cuypstraat will hands down serve you the best burger you'll ever have in your life.

Wildcard:
Had breakfast at Metropolitan on Rokin. Generally bit of a bird's menu (lots of muesli, berries and yoghurt etc) but they had steak and eggs. Most tender steak I've had for a while, perfectly rare - and kept me going all day!
