Day 8: Tue. November 26, 2013
This morning I’m colder than usual. I roll over to snuggle up to Bong. Seems we’ve awakened at the same time with the same idea; we always have this idea. The goal is the same. The way we get there? Well, that changes day to day, though some things do make encore appearances…lol…
When all is said and done, we get up and get ready to begin today…Bong goes to Albert Heijn for milk and bananas as I finish up my hair. Yesterday morning at Green Place was lovely, so today’s THC intake will also begin at Green Place. As good vibes side with us today, a parking spot directly across the street is again available. A reggae beat steadily pumps out of the open top of the half-door of Green Place. We cross the street, step inside, order coffees, and look over the bud menu.
Yesterday we enjoyed the Shoreline so we get some more along with some Strawberry Sour Diesel. I crush some of the Shoreline and fill the bong--yum, sort of flowery tasting. The coffees are brought to the end of the bar and I get up to bring them to the table. We have a quiet morning of reggae and indica before heading to Bluebird.
I think it takes about 3 minutes or less, by scooter, to get to Bluebird. Kees, as usual is sitting at “his” table with another man. He introduces this man to Bong and I as the owner of Bluebird. I’m confused, since I thought KEES was the owner… I’ve had it wrong all these years…lol… Oh well, no matter. Fernando is behind the bud counter this morning. I think this is the first day we’ve seen him. Bong talks with him for a while before getting the morning Kali Mist. Jessie is busy-beeing around the shop and pops over to give morning salutations. Kees asks me what Bong is getting and I tell him that I am currently in love with Bluebird’s Kali Mist. He’s very proud when I say that and he calls Fernando over.
“Make sure to have Kali Mist every morning for them,” he tells Fernando. Wow! Cool! Thanks, Kees!!
Bong rolls a nice Kali Mist cone that we enjoy with our coffees. Bizarre horn music be-bops out of the speakers…it’s rather avante guard and kind of cool when you’re high…and we thoroughly enjoy it!
The music fades as the next selection is queueing; we take this as a sign to make our exit.
From the opposite side of the canal, as we are scooting from Bluebird and up to Voyagers, we can see the tell-tale signs it’s not quite open: the shutters are still shut and a crowd is gathering outside. To waste time we roll around the “block” and see Stephanie…she’s on her way up to Voyagers, so we go around with her…and it’s still not open yet! Stephanie is going to wait with the crowd and we decide to make one more pass around the block, on foot. When we walk past the hotel door, Lion of Judah pops his head out and asks if MJ can borrow my hairdryer. Why, certainly! I go up to the room for the hair dryer and then up the next flight of stairs to MJ’s room. After giving her the hair dryer I descend the two levels and check to see if the coffeeshop’s open. It is!! …And THERE IS A LINE OUT THE DOOR!!! REALLY!!!
Stephanie is inside as well as Kushler. Andy2 and Gabby are working and Highly Blessed has brought in Debo. This place is literally standing room only! We meet the girls from Baltimore…two of them noted are on ACD as Scarlet and EasyBeinGreen…Nice to meet you! Cisco is also here and he gives me some Scottish candy…fruity, chewy, yumminess! Thanks, Cisco! I quickly realize why it’s so busy: today is TESTING TUESDAY!! Today’s offering is going to be called The Orange Godfather. Lol

A trip to Haarlem is on today’s agenda. The girls from Baltimore, MJ and Lion of Judah, Stephanie, and Bong and I all head over to Centraal Station for the adventure…and we get on the wrong platform. Not once, but twice…lol…stoners…
Once we find the train, we are fine. Lol… We even make it to Haarlem without incident!
Upon arriving at Haarlem, our first stop is Coffeeshop Birdie. Our walk shows us some wonders of Haarlem.
We purchase Super Skunk and Cheese. They have a BIG DOG here! He looks like an old-man Debo, but he is WAY bigger than Debo…if you can picture that! (If you can’t picture it, I took photos…lol…)
His name is Capo and I’ll bet in his heyday he was just as badass as a Capo in Tony Soprano’s crew… Capo is not alone, however. There is one more dog, a curly-coat dog but I never find out this dog’s name…nor do I have a photo… While the dogs are being petted, joints are being rolled. The budtender is busily making our drinks and one by one we go up to grab our own. The bong has already been passed to everyone once and by the time Stephanie’s drink is ready she can’t get up.
“I feel like I’m stuck in this chair!” she exclaims.
We all laugh an I-feel-that-way-too laugh as she eventually makes it up. Everyone finally has their drinks and at once, everyone who needs sugar for their coffees realizes there is no sugar on the table. Ever the host, Bong clears the table of unnecessary items and trash and comes back with sugar. LOTS of sugar. The sugar fiends cheer! About this time I realize I have not given the Balti-girls any cannamels to try, so I dig some out of my bag and have Bong give them out. Unbeknownst to me, Bong hands them each a cannamel with the instructions: Here. Eat this. That’s it. No warning that it may be pretty strong… (I tell everyone to eat ½, see how you feel, and then decide whether or not to eat more.) Yikes!! Scarlett eats a whole one. EasyBeinGreen eats part of one and their friend…I’m not sure how much she eats.
Stephanie is so high. I am so amused by this fact that I make a note of it! LOL… Always thinking ahead, Bong gathers the troops so we can begin to walk before the cannamels kick in… The general consensus is to go to Willie Wortel’s. Walking give me a chance to take more pictures…lucky for you…lol…
To our disappointment the place is WAY TOO FULL when we get there so we decide to walk over to the other Willie Wortel’s near the windmill. More walking = more photos:
Yay!! This place has plenty of room, so we go in. Bong and I get some Ice and some Gruwelijk. The Ice is twisted into a joint and the Gruwelijk is crushed up and hit from the bong. The guitar-centric music playing is very nice and makes for a nice atmosphere.
I suddenly see Bong just laughing his ass off; and it’s not about the onions... I ask what’s up and he points to the table of the Balti-girls. Seemingly out of nowhere, the Balti-girls are REALLY stoned. Bong looks at me and says, “They are CARAMELIZED!” LMFAO! They are… Now’s a good time to walk back to the train station:
Once on the train everyone is quiet…lol…except Bong’s stomach…he is hungry and he’s already talking about pasta at Julia’s.

I ask what kind of haze and Mr. Brady says, “It’s not WHAT kind, but rather WHERE I got it.” This bud was one of his favorites. You see, Mr. Brady was one of the OFFICIAL sequestered judges that got all the entries, unmarked. He has no idea what it is, but it was one of his favorites. Wow! Thanks, Mr. Brady!!!

The walk is quick as Green Place isn’t far from Voyagers. The only problem is: the place is FULL.

When the last of the spliffs have been crushed out in the ashtrays, we all depart. Teapot and Wellgo are just getting started…Hide is off to find Tomo…MJ and Augusto walk back to Voyagers with me and Bong. We say goodnight at the top of the first floor outside our room and they climb the second flight to their room. Bong tells them to keep it down because we’re in the room below them…lol…
Our room is wonderfully warm so when I begin to disrobe, I am not accosted by the cold. Bong is sitting on the bed removing his layers. I take my time and soon he turns and notices me standing in the doorway…nude.
In a flash, he’s joining me at the threshold and we’re embracing, caressing, kissing…
The last of Bong’s layers fall to the floor at the same time we fall back onto the blankets. I’m not even sure how we moved towards the bed, but…
