In a sticky mess? Going to make some and find out.
Here are a couple of techniques I've used...
Toothpick - carefully pierce the bud so that it doesn't crumble, then roll it in the oil...or, stick the toothpick into something that will hold and then pour/drip the oil over the bud. Allow to slightly set, then place in refrigerator or freezer (better). Remove, give a few minutes to allow the oil to soften, then sprinkle or roll the bubble hash/ground weed. Repeat as often as one desires...think The Dagwood (as in the sandwich which is named after the cartoon character married to "Blondie").
Another technique I've experimented with is threading string through the bud, similar to the seasonal popcorn decoration. After the bud have been threaded, take one at a time and dip/roll/drip the oil onto the bud. Hang the string like a clothesline, allowing the oil to stiffen/set, then place in refrigerator/freezer until the next step (as noted in the toothpick technique).
My "oily balls" consist of several variations of what has been know for decades as honey bud.
My first ever oily ball was made up of a stiffened piece of concentrate that was worked into a sphere, then worked in the ground weed, and then rolled in the bubble hash.
Happy Oily Moonrock...
