Amsterdamaged
I spent 4 nights in Amsterdam last week (Weds 22nd til Sun 26th)
This was only my second visit having recently been in February this year for mine and my Girlfriends anniversary. It was more of a romantic get-a-away split between tourist excursions and the odd coffeeshop. With that out the way, my intention for this recent visit was to visit as many coffeeshops as possible and smoke as much variety as possible in the 5 day period.
I had pinned over 20 coffeeshops on my Pindropp phone app, but wasn't sure when I was going to visit them. I went with an old school friend and joined by another the day later, neither were as enthused by the weed as I was but they were laid back enough to join me on the odd venture.
Surprisingly my first Coffeeshop visit of the trip was 'Bagheera' - a late addition to my map - but after reading some good reviews the night before I am glad I went. I was staying at Hotel Torenzicht, whilst my friend was staying at the Eden on the Amstel River. He had insisted on coming towards me so without wasting time, found a nearby coffeeshop to wait for him at.
Bagheera wasn't too far away - on the way to where my friend would be walking from and wasn't too busy on this early Wednesday evening. The budtender was welcoming, and helped me choose my first purchase of the trip - LA Confidential - 1 gram for 13 Euros -
There menu had LA Confidential as a 'Sativa' and the budtender told me that it's a good euphoric high, which is what I was after. It did live up to expectation, the high felt slow in the build up but I experienced a wave of euphoria followed by a mellow but energetic buzz. This could've been influenced by what the budtender said or the adrenalin of just arriving in 'Dam but it was good and I was happy. I even got chatting to an Italian bloke called Alberto, who was looking for work in the City. It was to be an on going theme of my trip where I met so many friendly and open people in coffeeshops.
Next coffeeshop I visited (now with my friend) was Old Amsterdam - we happened to be in the area and it was on my map, however the budtender was rather rude and informed us we must spend 15 EURO's on weed or we can get out. Having still got most of my LA Conf gram on me, we exited quick.
Luckily the Bush Doctor was more welcoming. We just bought a drink each and sat upstairs by the window until closing (which was about 00:30) - The staff were very friendly and seemed surprised we'd been turned away to smoke in the previous shop. My friend got high for the first time here, which was entertaining as he pretty much danced his way back to our hotel area.
The next morning I waited for my friends to wake up and be ready, so I thought why not check out another coffeeshop. A side street down my hotel was Green Place. Not one of the shops on my map but thought I'd give it a go and it was a good choice. The budtender was very friendly, and I sat outside with a coffee and smoked the rest of my LA Conf. I also purchased a space brownie too which I took a few hours later but never felt the effects other than a rumbling stomach.
Further up the same street was Hill Street Blues/Greenhouse Effect - where I just bought a coffee and sat outside to smoke. The staff were pretty friendly here also. I could see the Jolly Joker coffeeshop from here but never got to visit as it always appeared crowded and I liked sitting outside.
In the afternoon we visited the Magic Mushroom Gallery, even though we'd intended to go to Tatanka - we'd walked a mile further up than we needed to so went for MMG instead. The shopworker was very friendly and informative about the Magic Truffles. We decided on buying a box each of the Space Shuttles, as he said it was more energy-euphoria orientated than the others and that's what we were after for the evening. I'll post again about our Truffle trip.
Took the truffles at a Bulldog where we just had to buy a drink. Later on that night I went to Kokopeli's to better my buzz on the Truffles and luckily it was empty so I had the whole trip area to myself where I smoked weed and contemplated everything. Again, just had to buy a drink there and could smoke weed in the trip area at the back of the shop.
On Friday morning I decided to venture out to 1e Hulp which was a little far from the RLD area where I was based but took me about 30 minutes to walk. One of my favourite coffeeshops to visit, the budtender was extremely helpful and let me smell pretty much all of their sativa weed. An american customer also helped me make a choice and I went for the 'sweet and sour' as it smelled like God's vagina. I sat upstairs to smoke it and it hit me for six, had to compose myself a little to make it out of the shop in some dignity but didn't want to waste time with visiting more shops. Sweet'n'Sour cost me 12 EUROS for 1 gram.
It was pouring with rain but I made it near the Anne Frank House where Paradox coffeshop was near. Unfortunately it was packed and as I wasn't planning on buying bud, decided to move on to the next; Grey Area having heard great things but again, too packed for me to enjoy a smoke anywhere. Nearby Rockland and Utopia shops were also small and packed out.
In the afternoon, I ended up at Het Gelderse after taking a wrong turning exploring the City. It was dead empty, as I had previously went to Voyagers and Central but were too packed. Bought Silver Haze for 10 Euros, 1 gram as my sweet'n'sour was running low. We watched weird american reality shows here for a good few hours until the rain had stopped. Great coffeeshop if you're after peace and quiet in the day rather than hectic tourist environment.
Visited a lot of the shops above again, and some others like Goa but told to buy weed or get out which I found annoying. On the last day I went west again and checked out Barney's but decided to sit in Dampkring after Popeye's looked too busy. Staff in Dampkring were super friendly and told me to go take a seat and they'd come and take my order. Sat upstairs as that was the only space, rolled a joint but waited and waited, 25 minutes no one came to ask my order so I left and smoked what I had rolled at Picasso - which was more empty and less noisey. Plus they played some good music.
Had my final smoke at Kokopeli's - as it was empty and my favourite place. 1e Hulp was my favourite for coffeeshops, with Picasso and Bushdoctor close by.
Hope this post helped some of you out who are going, you'll have a great time. Don't be afraid to ask the budtenders questions. I found a lot of them very helpful.
Forgot to mention my visist to the Cannabis College, wasn't great. The guy was welcoming but when I asked about Hash he threw a big book on the table and told me to take a seat when I really wanted info from him. I then asked the best coffeeshops (for Sativa and/or hash) but before I could finish he says Goa and Greenhouse, which sounded rather disingenuous rather than an honest opinion. Would've gone back to use their Volcano but didn't feel too welcome there unfortunately.
Will post pictures soon.

Thanks for the comments.
Here's some pics; I've had to share Instagram links as I do not know how to upload them directly to the forum.
This is the sign on the Greenhouse Effect Coffeeshop next to their bar and hotel reception.

Inside Kokopeli's at the back, trip and chill out area over looking the canal. Beautiful.

Me leaving Coffeeshop Bagheera on the first night.

Outside Coffeeshop 1e Hulp - excellent place, worth the walk.

Outside Bush Doctor Coffeeshop

Outside Kokopeli's

Smoking outside Greenplace Coffeeshop

Re: Amsterdamaged
In Amsterdam psychedelic truffles are very popular. I am a regular following a blog based on All about Magic Truffles. This is the one i found very interesting and informative too. Because they have covered not only Magic Truffles, its varieties and effects but also funny tripping reports as well as.
