Laphroaig 11 Year Old launches exclusively at Amsterdam Schiphol

Beam Suntory in partnership with Maxxium Travel Retail is introducing Laphroaig 11 Year Old exclusively in the Exquisite store at Amsterdam Schiphol.
This Islay single malt scotch whisky is triple matured, first in ex-bourbon barrels, then in quarter casks and finally in ex-oloroso sherry casks. The liquid has been selected by Laphroaig Distillery manager John Campbell to preserve “maximum flavour and complexity”.
The aging process, which takes place by the sea, “produces a rare whiskey that combines the trademark Laphroaig peat smoke aroma with a unique depth and subtle-sweet smoothness,” said the company. Laphroaig 11 Year Old has an ABV of 48% and retails at €150 for a 700ml bottle.
Schiphol Airport retail managing director, Peter Jan Rozenberg says: “Laphroaig 11 Year Old is a fantastic addition to the already impressive and rare collection of Exquisite. We are honoured to offer it to Laphroaig’s fan-base travelling through Amsterdam =Schiphol and visiting Exquisite.
“Working in collaboration with Maxxium Travel Retail and Laphroaig was a rewarding process that resulted in a truly distinctive liquid that our customers will enjoy and appreciate.”
Maxxium Travel Retail managing director Glen Williams added: “Laphroaig 11 Year Old is an extremely rare liquid that builds on the already acclaimed range of travel-retail exclusives. We continue to innovate with Laphroaig and this new expression provides consumers in one of our key markets a reward for their ongoing support.
“Schiphol Airport Retail remains a trusted retail partner that has demonstrated great support for the brand with outstanding visibility and we are proud to provide them with this limited edition, travel retail exclusive. Because Laphroaig 11 Year Old is a rare expression, we anticipate heightened consumer interested from connoisseurs and collectors alike driving sales across the range.”
