Alcohol shopping

Post by theginjaninja »

Where are the best places / reasonably priced around RLD to get, either some bottles of wine or cases of beer, for consumption in hotel room or whilst sitting in one of the many parks?

The cheapest for beer and wine must be the Albert Heijn supermarket at Nieuwmarkt 18 (check it out on gmaps). For liquor stores look up Gall & Gall.

Depends what you're looking for. If you just want some basic booze, Gall & Gall/AH is fine. If you're looking for craft brews or stuff like that, try De Bierkoning off of Dam Square. I've not been, but I hear good things about Le Cellier at Spuistraat 114, too.

Bierkoning is great if you're in search for special beers from different nations. Lots of good Belgium and German beers. Prices are pretty high though. Definatly recommended.

All very helpful.

We will no doubt require some vodka at some point, but beer and wine will suffice when we arrive.

Here's Gall & Gall's vodka selection:

I don't know how much it is at duty free, but I doubt it's much less than 10 euro for a liter. Also, Gollem has a large selection of beers. Here's a list of good beerbars:

Cheers for that, probably cheaper buying it there.
The price you pay for 100cl of smirnoff is about what we pay for 70cl.
The Gall & Gall is way cheaper than our cheap vodka.

thanks for the bar guide, might visit some of them.
