Nightclubs

In all the times we've been to Amsterdam, we've always intended to go clubbing but just never made it.

this time we are adamant that we are definitely going this time.

Anybody have any suggestions for the best clubs?

A few of us, main music likes are Old school House Music, funky house.
Although my missus and her mates fancy some Disco.

Be prepared to pay highly for entrance and drinks. Plus the bouncers expect a tip on the way out. Tossers.

What if you don't tip them?

Keep you there till you do?
Heard stories of strip joints in eastern block countries being a bit like that.

Hold you to ransom to get out at the end.

I'm into house / techno / electronica and have been to 'Techno Tuesday' twice, once at Sugar Factory (the new location) and once at the old location near Waterlooplein. Its free entry and usually good atmosphere and fairly good music depending on what you're into.

Yeah, it's a pity we fly home on Tuesday, otherwise I would have fancied that.

Are there any particular clubs/nights that are best avoided?
I've seen some bad reviews recently for Paradiso I think it was.
