Quiest Coffeeshop in Amsterdam?

Post by floofenburger »

My husband has hearing difficulties, so if there is music playing, he can't hear shit. Any suggestions of a quiet, possibly even silent, coffeeshop?

I'd give CS yoyo a try https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/YoYo.html

Might be worth considering a trip to Haarlem , we found it much quieter overall

Have fun

I'd also say Club Media, very nice quiet and chilled atmosphere especially during morning.

Dampkring 2 on Harlaamstraat is quiet during the day to the point that I've heard of staff coming over to people talking loudly and asking them to be quiet. It also has a semi upstairs section which is away from foot traffic. I've found that during the day the places out of the centre are quieter during the daytime in the week.
I'd find an area with a large concentration of decent CS and have a wander. It is all very fluid depending on so many factors that you might have to 'suck it and see.'
Some shops I go in. Hear the music and then I'm straight out again.

It's the cochlear nerve. It's degraded. It's been that way since he was young and eventually it's going to get worse. Cochlear implants can't fix his issue either. There may be some implants that may work but they'd be very invasive and we'd want to wait until he's complete deaf before that. At some point before then, we're going to both have to learn to sign. Sorry to hear about that happening to you overnight. I imagine it's easier if you grow up with it.

That's another reason why i'd like him to try weed -- to experience music at it's best while he still can.

I do look forward to your trip report, as for quite coffee shops I have found that they will change with the time of day, the Bluebird is a very laid back coffee shop in the early morning but at night it's not so quite, just an example.

Hello. I'd like to know the names of several coffee shops that are fairly quiet, or at least Not LOUD. Good Luck finding one your husband can enjoy and it's nice of you to ask. I don't have any idea, I'm sorry to say.
Yours,
JB

Early on La Tertulia on Prinzengracht is very quiet and is also one of the better shops. Friendly and has good bud as well. If the Mango Haze is on the menu all the better.

Another vote for Yo-Yo down in De Pijp, great outdoor organic weed and a good atmosphere.
