Edibles - more than cakes and cookies?

Post by bahiasun »

So I was wondering if there are any coffeeshops in Amsterdam that offer the selection of edibles that many of the dispensaries do in California? I was back in Cali on holiday over Christmas and was amazed at what is on offer there. Really, any munchie you could think of has been turned into edibles. Goldfish, Cheezits, Kitkats, York Peppermint patties...it's glorious. The best part is the packaging and look of these look just like the real thing so when I returned to London I had a whole bag filled with crackers that just looked like i needed a snack for the plane :)

Has this made it to Holland yet?

interesting, why do you think that is? In California it's regulated so you can see how much is in each batch you're consuming. For many people who don't like smoking it provides a nice alternative and with the choices on offer keeps people away from all the cakes if that's not their thing. Just seems like a huge market that's untapped.

Given the odd state of cannabis laws in the Netherlands - it's not legal but just tolerated, I can't see all the variety of edibles there. You need the environment to be totally legal or quasi-legal (medical) to make the market stable enough for folks to invest in creating those edibles.
