My girlfriend and I are back in Amsterdam at the end of next month for a week.
Previous trips we have never ventured far out of Amsterdam but would like to explore a bit further this time around.
We have been looking into having a day trip out to either Haarlem, The Hague, Utrecht or Delft! Anyone got any tips on what ones we should go to? And also, does anyone have suggestions of things to do while we are there?
We did think about Rotterdam also but I thought it may be a bit further away than the other places!
Cheers
Day trips
Re: Day trips
Haarlem is a nice little city few thing to see n probably better shops and stuff!
Dehaag is bigger them Haarlem also cool stuff to see
Iv never hit shops there mostly stayed around train station n once deside to visit the dehaag jail where they claim them bad ass criminals ! The beach near is one of the nicest and biggest in the county!
Delf! If your into a big ass church that almost 1/2 the city n into delf gold beside that not much to see ! I didn't find any coffeeshoops !!
Utrecht ! Is nice at night cause the canals where can walk at water lvl of the canal that goes around the centrum ! Wasn't impressed whit the shops !
Rotterdam is very modern still nice place the shops have lots of shady ppl
If you staying a bit I'd advice you to get to kinderdijk and got see the unesco site with some of the oldest wind mills in the country if you show up early you can visite the inside of them !! Pretty cool place !!
If you like the beach do to zandvoort beach about 30 minute from Amsterdam n 1/2 is Haarlem
what I do is get off in Haarlem run to the birdys shop n get back on train to zanvoort
Return from Amsterdam is 10€ +\- !!

Re: Day trips
What dates will you be in Amsterdam?
I'll post you on the Whos In Town page.
You can see who else may be in town and any Toke & Talks that are planned.
Haarlem is a 15 minute train ride west from Centraal Station. Or it can be about an
hour bike ride if you go that way.
Haarlem coffeeshop map - http://thekaart.nl/en-netherlands-haarl ... 179_0.html .
My fav is Birdy, just north of the station.
Haarlem Menus - http://www.coffeeshopmenus.org/0-Haarlem-/Haarlem.htm .
In the next couple of days I will be posting several new menus for Haarlem.
Utrecht is a half hour train ride east from Centraal Station. It is a college town.
Utrecht coffeeshop map - http://thekaart.nl/en-netherlands-utrec ... 458_0.html .
Here my fav is Culture Boat. Note Sarasani has closed.
Utrecht menus - http://www.coffeeshopmenus.org/0-Utrecht-/Utrecht.htm .
I still have to add Andersom before I get on to doing Haarlem.
If you have a camera with you and always ask first, take pictures of coffeeshop menus
and email them to me. I'll post it on the Coffeeshop Menus page.
Be sure to let me know how you want it credited, the date, and shop. I can put links
either web or mailto in the credits.
If you want to remain completely unknown let me know.
I'll post it as Anon.
Enjoy

Re: Day trips
You have been posted on the June and July Whos In Town pages.
You can see who else may be in town during your stay.
If you don't see yourself, click your refresh or reload button
Your browser sometimes loads pages from your local cache and
you don't get the latest update.
Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.
Set yourself up with your own T&T or Toke and Talk, where you pick the coffeeshop
(your favorite) and the date and time, I will post it and you wait for folks to
show up, if they do you'll have a T&T. If they don't you still get to enjoy your
favorite coffeeshop!
By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.
I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.
You can do a little practice shopping on the Coffeeshop Menus page.
Any with arrows are less than six months old.
Any nice new menu pictures you can get will be much appreciated.
Always ask first, better told no than thrown out.
