I imagine that the weed in colarado should be infinitely better than the mediocre ganja sold in the Dutch coffeeshop s. I would happily pay their prices.

hate to say this… but … starbuds is a RIP OFF for the o-pen carts.

in cali, they're $30 for a half filled o pen cart. and $50 for a full one.

Yeah, I thought Colorado was supposed to be cheap in comparison with Cali, but those prices in this thread are a blatant rip off! I read from other sources that decent strains can be had for 8 dollars a gram, never mind bottom-of-the-range 'gruis' lol
So true  ! The article about prices is a motherfucking joke as well! It's an old hat but this 'movement' going on isn't about 'medicine' it's all about profit. As said elsewhere it's the american way to get it legalized but it's so damn hypocrite. Especially if your weed is indeed your medicine while a lot of recreational users act as they are patients, too.

@gettinggrimey
This is my impression as well it's in fact perfect from that point of view. If legal one day I'll never pay such stupid prices though and I'm sure all my mates will grow on if legal or not  !

Day 4: Out and About in Denver

Image
First stop: L'Eagle

Image
Interesting way to present your flower menu. Reminiscent of some of the coffeeshops in the Netherlands. Willie Wortel's in Haarlem and LaPaz in Zandvoort come to mind.

Image
Flowers and other products on display

Some comparative prices: Bubba Kush Recreational $35 1/16, Medical $20 1/16
Blue Dream Recreational $50 1/8, Medical $33 1/8

One thing that I didn't like was the "Out-of-State-Resident" Tax of $7.50 on 1/16 and $40 on 1/4. Who knew that being a Florida resident made you a second class citizen  Perhaps, I should get a fake id for my next visit

Image
Egor is a Pax man so he was pleased to see this display

Image
One thing that was unique about L'Eagle was that their concentrates menu featured Full-melt, Solvent-less, Ice-water Hash at 110u, 73u, and 25u. Unlike a lot of other dispensaries, their shatter and wax offerings were limited.

Another unique thing about L'Eagle was that they had full-rooted clones for sale at $35. Almost certainly you would have to be a Colorado resident. Another reason for fake id

Drooling over product dehydrates so it's time for beer at Katie Mullen's.

Image
Service by Jaime. This guy was a world class bartender with all the moves. Handles the three (3) glass simultaneous pour like he's been doing it all his life. This is close to being true. He's in the US on a temporary visa from Ireland where he started working behind a bar at age 13.

Image
Despite liking to watch the foam rise, I have never been a fan of Guinness Stout. However, Guinness Blonde on tap is a new favorite. Never had it before; never saw it before, wonder if anybody in Florida carries it. Let the investigation begin

Image
A nice afternoon watching baseball and soccer while having a cold beer

Back at the hotel

We have a dilemma. What to do with this freebee:

Image

Colorado is a bit like the "Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner"

Water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink becomes Reefer, reefer everywhere and not a place to smoke.

The solution: Break the law which must always be done with caution and discretion

The reward: An Amsterdam-like experience, harsh smoke, but strong just like the pre-rolls I've purchased there.

Last day coming up

We ended up taking a hike outdoors in the city! It's quiet on a Sunday night. The heat was on 16th Street Mall on Friday and Saturday, but not so much on Sunday! I'm closing on 75 so discretion is the better part of valor. I'm not worried about the civil citation at the end of the "ooops" trail. I just don't want to have to deal with the police in the middle of the process.

I don't smoke in the room because I feel that the next person to sleep there might appreciate not having to deal with my exhalations!

LOL dude.

I travel a lot for work.

always seminars in hotels… all over the USA.

most of the places weed isn't legal.

you get a bottle of OZIUM and use a tape and you're good to go.

I've NEVER gotten in trouble… the worst case scenario is they tack on a small "fee" for cleaning the room… big fucking deal.

even if you smoke a bowl… just smoke it near the window… if they open great, most hotels don't…. I just smoke it into the curtains… then hit it with ozium.

or you can turn the shower on super hot…. and smoke it in the bathroom with all the steam.

its denver… you should be fine bro.

thats why i usually vape… MUCH less odor.

Last Day: Part I

Today's the day we go to Red Rocks Amphitheatre. It's one of the most renowned rock concert sites in the world. Over the summer there will be shows by Widespread Panic and Umphrey's McGee, personal favorites. Not to mention shows by Steely Dan & Elvis Costello, Neil Young, Smashing Pumpkins & Marilyn Manson, Steve Miller Band, Florence & the Machine, Joe Bonamassa, My Morning Jacket, and many others This must be rock & roll heaven.

Image
It's early we're having breakfast on the 26th floor and off in the distance I see our goal. I am stoked. We're here; what can go wrong!

Image
Here we are at Red Rocks Park so it won't be long now!

Image
Moving ever closer!

Image
Closer still. The awesome Power of the Ice Age Glaciers is definitely on display.

Image
There's a bunch of people heading up the trail to the Amphitheatre. I'm here too. It's going to happen soon. What can go wrong?

Image
The Gates for Rock & Roll Heaven

Image
Closer yet; Check out that rock formation

Image
Creation Rock Right around the corner is Red Rocks Amphitheatre. I'm getting ready to channel Jimmy Page or maybe Jimi Hendrix!! What could possibly go wrong?

Image
Red Rocks -- the model. You can't see the Amphitheatre unless the gates are open for a show. I wonder if it would have been different if I had hiked up. A question I'll try and answer next year when I'm back with wifey.

With our tails between our legs, like beaten dogs, we head back to Denver. Hmmmm, what would pick up our spirits.

Please don't rush me! I'm closing on 75 as I was born in 1941

There was a five (5) foot fence and two (2) rent-a-cops patrolling the border to keep people out. Seems there was some vandalism a few years back and the promoters don't like people in close to the gates. Having thought about it, I need to determine if the hikers get a better view before I make a second attempt with the wife next year.

It sounds you really liked Colorado to be planning a return next year. My wife and I are going next summer also to Colorado but we will be visiting family in 'the Springs' (Colorado Springs). They are straight arrows so there won't be any smoking around them. We will take some time to ourselves though after the visit and drive around the state and will visit shops definitely. Your report is great and gives an idea of what products are available.
