It sounds you really liked Colorado to be planning a return next year. My wife and I are going next summer also to Colorado but we will be visiting family in 'the Springs' (Colorado Springs). They are straight arrows so there won't be any smoking around them. We will take some time to ourselves though after the visit and drive around the state and will visit shops definitely. Your report is great and gives an idea of what products are available.
Very much I did! I liked Colorado a lot. The people were very friendly! The product was very diverse and of high quality! There were things to see and that doesn't even cover the scenary!

It's geographically much harder than Amsterdam. There are no coffeeshops! That's a major bummer something that put Colorado in a close second place relative to Amsterdam in my book disregarding expense. Recent legislative moves indicate that the availability of public smoking locations is probably in the process of being fixed! The lack of coffeeshops helps explain why edibles are so popular! In your case, they offer a great, discrete "going to bed" option. I would suggest something like the 10mg Julie's Bites Indica or Hybrid as a "Nite-Nite" treat. Handling bed time issues, they were the backbone of our trip. I'm a welterweight so 10mg was a good night-time dose for me. On top of this, an O.pen with cartridge provides a great day-time opportunity. It's discrete and with a good cartridge it can do the job. This doesn't even consider Elixirs or Tinctures not to mention topicals!

I didn't do any deep research in the area you are going to, but there seemed to be more private clubs around the Colorado Springs area than Boulder/Denver. Still I would suggest that you do your research on them. Most of the one's I found around Boulder/Denver were either closed, remote or somewhat "dodgy!" Remember I'm older that you, but you aren't that young!

To show you how much we liked Colorado, wifey and I are now planning a September trip back to Boulder and Denver with emphasis of Boulder. We get the Rockies and lots of quilting stores, wife's hobby, as well as Boulder Mountain Park and Eldorado Canyon. There's good beer to be had and friendly dispensaries to visit!

Good luck with your visit! With a little care, it will be a great trip!

thanks for the writeup dude.

really helpful.

the coffeeshops are the big draw for us in AMS.

but then the weed is much better in CO.

price wise… what do you guys think? more expensive in CO?

Better food too.

but man… the lack of coffeshops or anything comparable is a REAL bummer.

Last Day: Part II

Image
Needing cheering up we visited The Green Solution. The place was not photo friendly so there are no pictures of product of which they had many including Bubble Hash, Jelly Hash, Butane extracted oil and cartridges, CO2 extracted oil and cartridges, and something called Caviar which was flower coated with Bho and Kief. One interesting feature of the place is that upon entering you get a "Shopping Assistant!" I'm not sure whether or not I liked having an assistant, but to be fair we could have made better use of her. It would have been interesting to see how much she knew. Not liking the vibe, we didn't buy any product, but I did buy a couple of T-shirts and completed that part of the mission

Image
Time for Lunch at the Highland Tap and Burger. Good chow. I had the HTB Breakfast Sandwich and Egor had the Tap Burger. Mine was very good, but I think Egor's was better. Of course there was beer to wash it down, Westmalle Tripel.

Image
Right next door to the Highland Tap and Burger there was this. We didn't go in, but you can see Eddie's reflection in the window. Can you imagine how convenient this would be if you could smoke in public places?

Image
The last dispensary we visited, Rocky Mountain High. Photo friendly with a friendly budtender and located close to our hotel and the 16th Street Mall.

Image
We're looking for some edibles to smooth out tomorrow morning's flight home. Hmmm, hard candies, tempting, but we opt for truffles as they will store better overnight.

Image
Not the same kind of truffles as you can get in Amsterdam. These are chocolate. I got Peanut Butter Fudge while Egor chose Cookie n Cream. We are now ready for take-off!

Image
More product

Image
and Still more product!

Image
Very cool mirror and perfect for my "Man Cave!" Next time I'll have to check getting one!

The trip back to Tampa was almost as bad as the trip out to Denver. We got held in pattern, thunderstorms again, until we ran low of fuel and had to divert to Orlando. Landing there we sat on the tarmac refueling and waiting for Tampa to clear. After some time, we took off for the short journey back to Tampa which is only 100 miles or 62.5km from our unanticipated landing place. We arrived ninety (90) minutes late.

The End

No, the Beginning. I'm in the process of scheduling a September trip back out with the wife. It will be a different trip, but very special in its own way!

We asked at a couple of them, received non-helpful responses, and quit asking. We probably should not have quit!

If things go well in the November election, there could be a lot of places (non-residential properties) where smoking will be legal in 2016.

The incentive to "lose it all" when ANYONE could be a fed agent?.... I don't think anyone would risk it. The people walking through the door just aren't worth trading in what you love doing for life to sort them out.

Here's the cash.
Here's the bud.
There's the door.

We asked, and received. "I just wanna buy it."..... Except.... No we don't. We are a tolerant breed, and want to be tolerated in return.

Yes, having a legal supply allows the CO bud to be better and more consistent quality.

IMO, CO seems less expensive as the price trend in CO is down and the trend in AMS is up. Was is AMS May of 2014 and CO April of 2015. AMS prices reported here seem much higher in that year. In CO, April 2014 to April 2015 saw a drop in rec prices.
It would be even cheaper but for the "fuck out-of-staters" CO law. Shops I went to had some very nice prices on 1/4 oz BUT non-residents can only buy 1/8 oz. So, you re forced buy smaller purchases at a higher price. Forecast is that CO prices will fall even more as more shops are coming on line.

It is a bummer that CO lacks coffee shops like AMS. Edibles are one option but we found discreet vaporizers can be used MANY places :) on the down low

Another unique thing about L'Eagle was that they had full-rooted clones for sale at $35. Almost certainly you would have to be a Colorado resident. Another reason for fake id
This is a mighty rip-off in my opinion. If you know the right people(not so huge selection and illegal!)in the Netherlands or if you go to Austria(legal if not flowering&huge selection) you can get quality cuts for around 6€. Talking about retail here  ! Two examples: http://hanf-hanf.at/Cuttings-from-motherplants and http://www.floweryfield.com/produkte/ha ... anzen.html

Apart from that thanks again, Eddie, for all the effort, really appreciated :D !

Various Sights and Sites Throughout the Trip: Part I

Here are some of the pictures that Egor shot during our trip to Colorado. As you can see he's a better photographer than I am. I'd like to think that its the camera, but it's not!

Downtown Denver:

The Band - Soul School

300 days of sunshine! When do we move!

Image
Not quite up to Amsterdam, but there sure were a lot of bikes in Denver and Boulder

Hmmm, I wonder what kind of seeds they're selling.

Rogan Josh or Tandoon Chicken, anyone?

To the OP, thanks for getting it right. Had I read one more ridiculous report with comparisons of Colorado and Amsterdam and the nauseating whine of "There is nowhere to smoke in Colorado" I might have written this site off. I've read too many crap reports from lazy stoners.

It's Amazing what can be achieved with a good attitude (contact me next time, no need to pay retail) and a little research. I'm so glad you had fun, so are thousands of others. It's all brand new and changing by the moment.
