As usual, thanks NSFE. :)
A major problem I have with this story is with the Rosin technique.
It is not new, and the hype machine resurrected it from the dead. I wonder why? Well, I'll tell ya - cost.
There's a reason why this technique didn't catch on more than 10 years ago - it's a poor man's version of BHO, just like using Isopropyl Alcohol instead of Ethyl.
End the hype of this wasteful technique. It's not new, and no reason to waste your time and effort, unless poor.
Just one stoners opinion.
Cheers

anyone know the thc content of common Rosin? BHO must be a lot stronger isn´t it? I only found that on the web:

(info is in the second post... can´t copy the picture don´t know why )
83,81% THC sounds pretty strong... I thought it would be a lot less...

I don´t know much about concentrates like BHO, Rosin... but if you use a solvent it must have a lot more THC in it than only with doing it with heat... right or wrong? :D

To be honest, I think the Rosin technique offers a better tasting result.
As for total extraction weight, butane is a lot more effective.
One for one, both remove trichomes in their entirety. For this reason, I don't know if solvent or non solvent would have an overall effect on THC%.
Just my opinion, I could be right, I could be mistaken. ;)
Cheers.

That makes sense :D My first thought was that a solvent extract nearly all the THC from weed (so it has to be stronger...). With Rosin Tech (only with heat) you don´t get all the THC of the Weed (never as good as with a solvent)... so my simple idea :D was that it is not so strong then

But you got the point... with a solvent it´s much more effective (weight of extraction). Thanks for that :D

You ever tried a Rosin extract Ron? From your previous posts I noticed that you not the biggest fan of that technique :D Like you said it´s so damn hyped on the web :? Some guys are really excited of the taste compared to BHO... but other guys like BHO much more... like many things I would say it´s a question of taste

Yes, I've tried Rosin, years ago. I think ( yup, just my opinion ;) ) that Rosin tastes better because it retains more terpenes. However, it's still very wasteful. If one wanted a get-high-quick method, this is a technique that could be used, just very wasteful. Did I mention how wasteful this technique is?
It's not that I'm NOT a fan, I just won't pay lip service to an over hyped technique that's been around for more than a decade. Now they've developed a whole line of goods dedicated to Rosin. The only thing that comes to mind, and is as sad as it sounds (self-inflicted) - fleecing of the stoner. Get used to every generation hyping something from the past as new and improved, only to find that it just isn't. Regardless of what new technologies exist today, it's still a poor mans version, but becoming more expensive. Got to love the hype. Cheers
