sweden is a backwards going country in this... harder and harder sentences etc for cannabis. When almost the whole world is going in the oppostite direction and decriminalizes or legalizes.

And yes, I have been raided myself too, so I had to spend some time in prison. And now I have a criminal record and cant get certain jobs and such. Plus the police regularly harass me. Because of previous convictions.

Yes - I got searched on the train from Copenhagen to Malmo a couple of years ago. Fortunately, they didn't find the ready-roll I had in one of those plastic spliff cases, but I was bricking it! I had a nice time in the park in Malmo smoking it too, but it felt like a million miles away from Christiania there.

I always used to lump Denmark and Sweden together in terms of liberality - I guess it was the childhood reputation of the two countries as being sexually open in the days before internet porn (or the internet for that matter!) All the swedes I have known have been really nice people, but Sweden doesn't seem to be quite the open place I expected ...
