They don't really seem to be prepared for tourists. :?:
There were no seeds, not even in the otherwise shit WW.
They had 3 indoor strains as well, the german couple next to me bought some indoor, don't know which strain, was decent. :D

finally, I found some time to type....
hope you enjoy it
-----------

SATURDAY 23.01.16

Woke up to the sound of the french guys in the room next to me banging doors, shouting, coughing... the loudest persons you could ever imagine.
8.30am, was still tired, but thanks to these idiots, sleeping for 1-2 hours more was impossible.
The idiots were blocking the shower constantly for about 1,5 hours so I went down a floor to use another one, I just didn't care at that moment.
I am a humble, nice, polite and quite introverted person, but if I can't get a shower and decent coffee in the morning, I can go full asshole mode, trust me on that.
So after the shower I considered to grab a coffee in Voyagers for a little wake n bake, but then I remembered Voyagers giving out coffee in paper cups - which are great for to-go, but the first coffee of the day should be a proper one, in a proper cup.
So I stroll down Geldersekade and Kloveniersburgwal, still quite tired... Where to get breakfast? I didn't really know, most cafes and restaurants looked dodgy.
"Broodbar" (Kloveniersburgwal 18) finally convinced me to get some food there.
Went in, nice little place, friendly woman behind the bar, hands me the english menu with a wink - they really seem to spot non-dutch tourists from miles away.
But all in all, this place wasn't a touristy place - lots of locals went in after I sat down and ordered my bacon & eggs breakfast:

Image
Breakfast at Broodbar

3 Eggs, few strips of perfect crispy bacon, on two halfs of a roll, together with a cappucino and a great bitter orange juice.
Perfect start into the day, very well done!
Paid reasonable 10,50e for all of this.
I liked that there were only very fews customers, I was alone sitting in there most of the time. Perfect start into the day before I had to deal with the usual masses of humans in amsterdam.

shower - check
coffee - check
breakfast - check

Time for some weed! I went back, past Voyagers, to the Ij, smoking the pure outdoor haze (yo-yo) joint I rolled the day before.
Just sat there, watching the ships pass by, weather was nice.
The haze was by far the best strain I bought at Yo-Yo, not too strong, decent taste, not harsh.
Good morning smoke!
Saw one of the ferries over the Ij just arriving behind Centraal, so I decided to hop on one of them, never used them before.
They are absolutely free to use, they even have wifi on board!
Nice ~5 minute ride to the other side. Smoking is allowed, but only at the back of the ferry.
Didn't smoke weed though because I don't really like smoking in public when there are non-smokers near me.

That being said, do you know good spots in amsterdam for toking, a bit apart from the masses?
I know that there are a lot of amsterdam inhabitants who don't like the tourists smoking EVERYWHERE.

During the trip, I smoked a lot at Ruijterkade (https://www.google.de/maps/@52.3774853, ... a=!3m1!1e3) barely met anyone there besides some anglers.

Anyway, I arrived on the other side, sat down next to Cafe Al Ponte with a great cappucino.

Nice place to get out of the centrum trouble for a while. Came back a few times during the trip (I just love the ferry rides tbh).
As you can see, weather was fine, so I sat there for a while.

Decide to give Katsu another shot, so I took the tram to A. Cuyp Market.

By the way: I got myself a "OV-Chipkaart", the card the locals use for public transportation.
As a german citizen, I was able to order one online (personalized with photo) but you can buy an anonymous card at Centraal too. 7.50e one time fee per card.
There are ticket vending machines where you can add value to your card with cash or credit card? (not sure).
Right now you pay 0.89e base rate per trip plus 0.15e per kilometer.Minimum value on card always has to be 4e, had to learn this the hard way.

So the travel from Centraal to Albert Cuyp Market is 1.34e. I usually use the tram once or twice a day, so that's much cheaper than a day ticket!

Arrived at Katsu, rolled some Lemon Skunk and finally some Rugburn OG from Voyagers.
Also bought some Mango Haze (2g afair) there, was far better than last time, actually one of the best smokes on the trip.
Sadly I didn't take a photo of it.
Beautiful girl behind the counter, never saw her before, brought me some coffee and water while I was smoking the Lemon Skunk. Good times.

Walked back from De Pijp to Centraal, just enjoying this beautiful city.
Took a ferry to Noord again, smoked the Rugburn OG there. Wow, thick taste! Very nice smoke, not so harsh, slightly bitter aftertaste though.
It was quite strong, was feeling like wearing a helmet, but the high left too fast and left me confused. Still don't know what to think of this strain.

Went back to the hotel to charge my phone and relax for a bit.
After that I went to coffeeshop Mr K as I heard good things about it.
This was just before they added the DNA Genetics strains to their menu though.
Went in, reggae music playing, older woman behind the counter.

"Hey, can I see the Silver Haze please?"
"No, you can't."

Then she stared at me and said nothing.
After what felt like a minute, she finally added "it's out of stock right now"

All in all, shit customer experience. That wasn't necessary, fuck that.
I needed some bud though so I grabbed a gram of Power Plant (9e), which turned out to be just wonderful, especially in my flowermate vape. What a taste!
Well cured, flushed, not too damp or dry, perfect.

I didn't feel welcome in Mr K so I started walking again.
Paradox was too crowded so I headed to De Kuil.
I really like the budtender there, friendly guy who definitely knows his stuff and doesn't try to sell the shit nobody wants.
Neville's Haze for 14e I guess was my choice, decent as always.
He just restocked the NH as I wanted to buy, so he didn't give me a g of the crumbs, but a nice bud, was even a bit more than 1g iirc.
Smoked it all straight away, I really love this stuff in the evening after a day of smoking, really uplifting.
Had a very nice chat with a student from England, at least until his gf walked in and didn't seem to be too happy to see him there, smoking on a big chunk of hash.
Didn't want to get involved so I left quickly.

I've never been to Bluebird before so I decided to go there. Bought 1,2g of Lime, didn't impress me at all.
Good buzz, but the taste was off. Last bits of the J tasted kind of chemically. Bad flush?!

Image

The bouncer in Bluebird was totally nice btw, sent me to the bar upstairs to buy something.
I don't like the shady buying situation in Bluebird though.
Smoking room was nice enough, really enjoyed the open window! :D
Had a few beers already so I just enjoyed the drum and bass music. Not really my kind of music, but ok!

Found some reggae party at Cafe Frontline (near Voyagers, lucky me!) on the internet, so I decided to give it a shot.
As I was walking, I decided to make a small detour to De Kuil again to grab some more of the Neville's Haze since the Lime wasn't too good and I wanted a nice sativa.

Cafe Frontline was quite nice, excellent staff, cold beer, great music (if you're a reggae fan obv).
Really liked that 50yo jamaican guy dancing all dressed up in his best suit, polished shoes... oldschool!
Ended up talking to him, very interesting guy. Smoked some Neville's Haze together and had some good laughs - and a LOT of beer.

As I left around 2.30am I realized that I was TOTALLY drunk.
Best state to get some fries.
I don't remember where I got them, but they were heaven, at least drunk...
Also I don't really know how I got back to Voyagers, but hey, it worked.

Great report :D I see your another DNA hater fair enough. I to find the DNA gentics strains are not good examples in Dam. I have grown there strains for over twenty years ,earlier on they had big hermie problem in there fem. line. They seem to have corrected it the last few years. If you could get examples grown in hydro , you would find there strains are very strong. Kandy Kush in hydro is sick ,strongest strain I have every grown and I,ve grown a lot of strains :D ...Glad your in 420 ...meet you soon for a smoke :D

What do you mean? That it's pre-packed, or that the budtender disappears to get it? Other shops are different, but I can't really see it making a difference in the end.

Nice update Mowie! I wanna sesh some beers and joints with you next time you're in Amsterdam, trade you some dabs for an Augustiner or Tegernseer?

Keep it comin' if there's more, I really wanna write a travelogue myself, but I live here so it's hard to really pick a day which stands up against the rest to really write about, I always smoke too much weed..oops    . But Ioved how December's big T&T from Paradox there were like three intertwining perspectives from the travelogues of that month. Maybe I'll make a special 4/20 day "trip" (something else in the works, maybe?) report - reviewing all the fucking cannabis I consume with One High Motherfucker among others! Then we can have our own overlapping narratives, oh joy, what fun!
