Hello Folks,
I've been out of action for a while but I'm back and looking for a little help.
Following the recent rumblings from the Lib Dem party in the UK, it appears that there may be some further dialogue on the subject of Cannabis being legalised and regulated..... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-35749080.
Im not sure what my thoughts are on legalisation or regulation, thats another can of worms but one already open in the US and Canada.
Getting to the point, I'm helping out a pro cannabis researcher, he wants to look at all sides of the argument in terms of legalisation, regulation, decriminalisation.
I live in the land of prohibition so there are no regulated legalised outlets to purchase from and this in turn leads to dealing with the "black market". I spoke to him about the dangers of buying from the black market and some of the stuff that I have encountered myself over the years, I'm not talking about weed/hash that was poor quality but product that has been tampered with. Over the years I've seen some very unhealthy stuff, the worst I think was powdered glass made to look like trichomes and hash made purely from henna comes a good 2nd.
Being a researcher he wants to get a better picture of what everyone else is finding in/on their black market weed and hash and if it is really a problem. So good people of the forum I would be grateful for a few more examples of tainted black market weed and hash, what yuck is out there? Please note I'm not interested in details of products purchased from a coffeeshop!
Thanks in advance!

Re: Bad weed in the land of prohibition?
Usually get good stuff here in sweden, can be a bit expensive some times though, in 15 years I think the prices must have doubled at least, even tho more people are growing and there's more product, there must be a hell of a demand since its become so damn expensive now a days.

Re: Bad weed in the land of prohibition?
I'm afraid commercial gripes don't count either.
I want to give him examples such as (not a good one because it happened such a long time ago, 20+ years) opening a brick of thai weed to find a mummified small rodent etc. Bugs dead and sometime alive etc. Weed you know has been dipped to alter it's taste, weed that has been tumbled. Sometimes you can tell by the taste if a certain nasty pesticide has been used etc.
Cheers

I live in the land of partial prohibition. When I see all of the pesticide issues coming out of "legal land": Colorado and Washington., it makes me thankful that I am an "edibles" kind of guy. Still, these issues should be a baseline for your researcher. If this is what's coming into your lungs and body in legal states, you can only imagine what the black market is providing!!!!!!CloudMaster wrote:Hello Folks,

Re: Bad weed in the land of prohibition?
If anything demonstrates the point about prohibition it is surely that great British staple, the soap bar?
Thankfully it is nowhere near as prominent as it used to be, but back in the 90's it was everywhere and aside from the awful quality, the henna, the cooking oil and who knows what else it was made out of, nobody that smoked hadn't found bits of plastic sheeting and the like in theirs too. Best (worst) story I've got though is the day my uni dealer's microwave blew up in front of us in this little campus bedroom, lazy fucker used to heat 9bars up to cut them and this particular one turned out to have had 2 bits of metal in the middle, a rather large nail and what looked like part of a coat hanger. Burned about 3oz out of the middle, think the guy took to heating his knife on the stove instead after that

Yep, used to sometimes see weed which left residue on your fingers and wouldn't dry. The ash was black and clumped up so you couldn't flick it off. Talking 5 years ago though.
Then again I've got more reliable sources now. Could still be happenin.

Yeah seen this also but about a decade ago, once found a stone in one piece lol. Thankfully you never lost too much money on it though coz it was v cheap.Not_the_monk wrote:If anything demonstrates the point about prohibition it is surely that great British staple, the soap bar?
