Most Potent Joint
Most Potent Joint
I take Lisinopril (it is for blood pressure). It irritates my lungs just a bit. But when I smoke, that aggravates my lungs and can really induce coughing. So I want to minimize the smoking I have to do to get high (and I like to get really stoned). I have taken to grinding a gram of hash into a gram of weed and rolling a joint. I ask the tender for their strongest indica. The question is what hash should I buy? Are the 60 euro a gram of bubble hashes more potent than the 20 euro a gram hashes? Money really is not an object (300 euros per trip doesn't really make much difference to me), but I don't like being played for a fool.

Re: Most Potent Joint
In theory yes the bubble hash should be way more potent than your average import. Typically an import hash will be anywhere from 10 to 30% cannabanoids. A decent bubble hash (dependent on grade) could be anywhere from 30% to 50%.
In practice though - the quality of any coffeeshop product can and often does vary wildly by batch and sometimes those top-end purchases can dissapoint I'm afraid. It's almost impossible to give specific recommendations on potency so unfortunately it's a case of shopping around. I can tell you that I've bought Bubble hash at Katsu, Bluebird, club media and De Graal and only very rarely been disappointed,
My advice on harm reduction when it comes to your lungs (I'm asthmatic so have similar concerns) would either be to
A) invest in a good vapouriser which is much easier on the throat/chest than smoking (although not perfect - big hits still make me cough/irritate my throat)
Or
B) score (or make) some Oil from somewhere and get with the dabbing craze. It's MUCH easier to get a big dose of cannabanoids this way and means you're consuming (vaporising) a product that contains no plant material - so while there is still some irritation from inhaling hot vapour it's much Less harsh than bong rips of weed/hash or pure joints wrapped in burning paper.
If BHO is out of your reach - look up 'Rosin tech' on YouTube and get making your own oil. It's simple to get started and easy to get good results with a little practice. Plus imo the product can be tastier than BHO.
Hope this helps

Re: Most Potent Joint
Thanks for your thoughts. On another board somebody suggested a portable vaporizer, which is a new concept to this old dog (I am 60 and have been smoking for 46 years). I am looking for some advice on a vaporizer that is portable enough to take into a bar (Hunters comes to mind) and cheap enough to be disposable when I go home.

Well there's lots of debate on the topic of portable vaporisers here viewtopic.php?f=7&t=30719&p=389445&hili ... le#p389445
Personally I'm firmly in the 'buy the best vaporiser possible, travel with it and screw the consequences' club. Others share your reticence to cross borders with such a device. I've never had any problems yet and traveled to-and-fro from the 'Dam four times last year carrying a multitude of vaporisers so...
I own machines at both the budget end (Flowermate - < £100. decent enough for the price but has lots of draw resistance which I didn't like at all.) and the top end (Storz and Bickel Mighty - +£250). I wouldn't change my Mighty for the world - it's the best vaporiser on the market (portable or otherwise) in my opinion.... read the thread I posted above and you'll see why.
Happy hunting - and welcome to the forum

Onehigh,
This vaporizer concept is completely new to me, but in searching, I had found the mighty and was debating whether that was to much money to throw away. I was just starting to read the experience of taking a vaporizer through security and you seem to be right. Thanks for endorsing the mighty, I think that I am going to go that way.

Pre injection alcohol wipes are the mutts nuts for cleaning a portable vape
I always carry my unit in hand luggage, place it with my camera and it's only been looked at once.
The Mighty's smaller sister unit 'the crafty' is 99.99% the same experience as the Mighty in terms of vapour quality and taste etc but has a MUCH shorter battery life and is only controlled through a fiddly iOS or Android app. It is however a much cheaper alternative to the mighty and can be charged via USB. Owning both - I'd recommend the mighty if large sessions are your thing (and it sounds like that's the case) or the crafty if portability and subtlety are bigger requirements.

Re: Most Potent Joint
Onehigh, believe it or not, I don't own a mobile phone, and I made my living (a pretty good living) selling mobile phones. But after I retired, I realized that I had gone several months without making a single call. This whole vaporizor thing is completely new to me. And I tend to buy "the best." So I want the mighty. I just got back from my last trip to Amsterdam on March 1. My next trip isn't until August 15th (and I now really want to go bad), but I don't think that I will be able to clear another trip with the wife before August. But maybe if I hold off buying until July, the price will come down. I did read the thread that you referred me to.

Re: Most Potent Joint
Actually she bitched the entire time I was on my February trip about it being "to long." I was gone 16 days counting the day I left and the day I returned. My August trip will only be 10 days as a result.
Of course the fact that she works and I play probably is a big influence on her point of view. But when I am home I do everything, feed the dogs, laundry, cooking, shopping, taking her clothes to the dry cleaner. In fact, one of the services I provide is that she never has to use a towel twice. Every time she takes a shower, she uses a fresh towel.
And as I explain to her, this house husband needs a vacation from his duties a couple of times a year. Oh and when I go I hire someone to feed the dogs for her so that she doesn't have to worry about getting home "on time."
