420 'Slimline' Cup 2016

You can vote for up to three shops. Everyone can vote but only those of us who will be there will get to the session in the winning shop.


In the past Hestia, Trad and ftCarer have organised trophies for the best coffeeshop. Traditionally rules were published and voting forms distributed which people wrote all sorts of stuff on with no regard to the rules and then DC of the Nes untangled the mess and declared a winner. Last year ftCarer did it single-handed and this year Macky and OneHighMofo have volunteered to drive.

Most people are only around for a day before and after the 20th so we can't really do the several days of crawls followed by several days of presenting cups that we've done in previous years.

Macky has decided that this year the winner will be chosen by the whole forum. He also suggested the 'Slimline' bit.

He suggests a week for nominations followed by a poll in which everyone can vote. Then those of us who will be there will present the cup to the winner and get ridiculously stoned again. He asked me to start this thread and set up the poll in a week's time.

So, your time starts now. Get nominating!

Macky and OneHighMofo - as cup champions I hope to see you posting in this thread every day evangelising, encouraging, cheering on and so forth. Sound reasonable?

As Lem said slimline cup for best CS 2016 open to all members. If you guys won't to have a cup for best weed smoke and vote and present on 21 st it can be arranged. I was thinking maybe the Lemming award best smoke 420? I think it may be blood match between Utopia and Voyagers top spot

Ok...

...I have two nominations for you...

1) Kadinsky... I prefer the little one off Damrak, but i guess they all have the same breeders... I'm a hash head, and Kadinsky has always been my go to shop... Despite one or two inconsistencies, they're mostly an awesome shop that, imho, doesn't get the recognition it deserves.

2) Willie Wortels Indica... The only shop i've been to in the last year, so really the only one i feel i can genuinely nominate for this years cup... Again, i went in for hash, and there deal on 5g of Temple Balls was a good bargain... Even their cheap pre-roll was a knock-out, but since i hadn't been smoking at the time, take that recommendation with a pinch of salt.

To tell the truth I spent more time in Barney,s uptown....coffee joint in early morning or beer and a joint in evening But my sentimental fave rate is Tweed Kamer. To me it's all about the hash I have long history with Roy. To sit and chill I would say Birdys is my ....if I could own one this would be it. Roll on 420

Well this thread is coming on nicely already

There are already a few nominations for my personal fave shops which means the results might be a bit more hotly contested than the predicted Utopia Vs Voyagers head to head. I'll collate the thread as we go along and summarise the state of play every ten posts or so.

My current thinking is:

1. De Graal.
Unique ambience, comfy surroundings, large menu, helpful staff.

2. Het Ballonetje
Interesting Dutch brown bar style layout, decent menu, very friendly staff.

Third place is currently a toss up between 1eHulp, Siberie or possibly Mr K's. I am - as yet undecided and reserve the right to change my mind at the last minute

Just to be clear, at this stage we're just nominating shops to be included in the poll. No harm in nominating one that's already been mentioned but we're not actually voting yet.

Maximum for a poll is 50 so if we get close to that we could stop or thin out somehow. Otherwise we'll carry on nominating for a week as planned.

More nominating of your fave rate CS better chance to make short list . There will be only one winner for this year do to the short window of time. Once we pick short list members may vote for CS of 2016 Slimline cup in his memory. The vote will be open for all members till the 420 clock runs out. Give cup during crawl 20th. That said not to much work so me and OHMF are coming up with something fun Stay tuned Roll on 420
