How do go about vaping Moroccan hash? I have a crafty and have tried different types of morroc hash and it just seems to clog up the screen and not give much vape. Any tips are very welcome.

Kashmir - Gerbera (or was it Gerdala?) E10 per g

Another decent piece of Roccy this, tastes and smokes (& vapes) like it ought to with a spicy edge to the flavour. Decent value at E10, not the strongest smoke of the trip but it still has a bit of a punch to it, with a floaty kind of relaxing indica stone. As you can see from the photo, the guy only had crumbs and offcuts left, so I reckon this is popular with the locals!

Hi @pengaldinho. I vape hash in my flowermate 5.0s (thats the 3 temp version), and my technique is to crumble it as much as I can before putting it straight into the chamber. I use just a small piece - enough for a single skin joint - and I heat it on the blue setting (thats 195C or 385F) to start with with, and after the first vapour appears, I give the chamber a good stir with a small screwdriver, taking care to return all the goodness that sticks to the tool. This increases the cloud size, and I repeat the stirring a couple of times as I vape, then increase the temp through purple (205C/400F) and red (212C/415F) until it stops producing vapour. With decent hash, this can take 4 or 5 cycles of the vape so as much as 30 minutes of vaping from a small bit of gear.

Then, after turning the vape off, I use a larger flat headed screwdriver to remove all the vaped gunk before it sets hard. I keep the vape clean with a cotton bud dipped in Isopropyl Alcohol, but it doesn't get clogged up - the bit I really have to take care over is the thread on the mouthpiece because of crumbs gettin there as I fill and stir the chamber. A nice extra is that the mouthpiece collects oil which I scrape off and ingest direct from time to time.

Peng - the little wire mesh disc that comes with the crafty is awesome for putting hash on to stop it clogging the screen, use incognitos crumble technique and you'll be rocking in no time - make sure you turn the crafty up to 200-205 though for best results.... Or even better, press your hash to rosin first, the concentrated flavours can be astounding

Boerejongens - White Choco Bloc - €8.50 per g
Well this is well known territory for ACD. The WCB from Boerejongens is such good value. Its a light crumbly hash, legend has it is is made in Morocco from the White Choco strain. It does the business at a nice price! One of my favourites.

Le Palais (Leiden) - Hya €9 per g

Another darkish oily Moroccan hash with a spicy edge to it. To me, this is indistinguishable from the Kashmir Gerbera, and it certainly works! The Le Palais guy sold me this as his best hash, and if my local supplier came up with hash as good as this I would be delighted!

Smoke Palace - Special €10 per g

I reckon this is the same hash again as the Le Palais Hya and the Kashmir Gerbera! Tastes the same, looks the same, smells the same, feels the same. Just called something slightly different!

Happy People - Twizla €8 per g
Ah - now this is very similar, but its not the same!! Its a bit more pliable than those above, and is more fruity/citrus in smell. The colour is a little lighter, and it melts in the hand to a much creamier consistency. In the vape it bubbles as it heats and gives out lovely clouds of floral vapour with an earthy finish and a taste of ginger about it. Delicious! For me, it has a sativa/indica hybrid effect with a body buzz and a smoky high. Yup - I like this. And its a good price - I recommend heading here if you find yourself at Brouwerij'tIj and trying some Twizla!

I can just imagine sitting in the garden on a sunny spring day with a glass of Zatte and a tasty little number of Happy People's Twizla.... Too bad I'm in the gritty north on a chilly grey saturday, but dream on!

Bebop (Leiden) - Charas €12 per g
Crumbly black hash with a lovely spicy fruity smell about it. This vapes pretty well with a nice cloud, but the flavour's not up to the smell. The effect is heady and soaring, going in the direction of trippy. Mmmm. I could cope with living in Leiden, I reckon!



Leideseplein (Leiden) = Charas €12 per g
So crumbly, it crumbled into crumbs. I guess that makes it a bit dry (and maybe old), but this is just as good as the Bebop example. In fact, it is indistinguishable (although the photo looks maybe a bit darker), and I would guess its actually the same hash from the same source.

Both these Leiden Charas' are the real deal hand rubbed imported Indian/Himalayan hash. I really like the old school flavour and effect, but to be honest they are not as fresh and trippy as the TransHimalayan I had from Kandinsky a year ago.If you are an old git like me, looking for the highs of his youth, then this kind of hash is full of memories. But if you just want a powerfully psychedelic high in the black hash style, then the high end offerings in Amsterdam are definitely superior.

Smoke Palace - Nepal €12 per g
The third black hash of my trip. This one is creamier and softer, without any grainy texture. I would say this is not a hand rubbed hash, it has been pressed to this consistency, maybe with the addition of a little oil. Not as strong smelling as the Leiden Charas, it is also not as strong smoking (or vaping), and it doesn't have any trippy edge to it. Apart from being an OK sub-continent style hash, it doesn't have much going for it. There is much better smoke to be had for €12 a g, including at Smoke Palace! Nice coffeeshop though!

Leidseplein (Leiden) - Tbisla €8.50 per g
Well have I saved the best until last? I might have done! This is very different from everything else sold to me as Tbisla/Twizzla on this trip. It is a lighter Moroccan hash, with that slightly sandy feel as you break it up. It smells citrussy and piney and, well, like Roccy ought to smell. It melts beautifully, and is a lovely clean, strong smoke/vape. This leaves me stuck in my chair for 20 minutes with a big grin, before I set off full of purpose to do whatever it was ... what am I supposed to be doing ... oh yes, going to the shop for munchies. I like it! Its stronger than the White Choco Bloc, proper old school Moroccan hash, cheap, powerful, tasty .... I'm sold. The only downside is that its in Leiden!

Well there you have it, my March 2016 trip to Amsterdam, Leiden and 's-Hertogenbosch. My collection of hashes, and what I can recall of the random bits of weed I smoked. All that remains is to make my way slowly through this heap until I run out and I have no choice but to go back .... maybe in the Autumn ....
