Last time I was in Katsu, they had a special on a cheap Moroccan – 5g for €20. I asked the budtender whether it could be smokable at that price, and she said it was. I was dubious, but I risked it – it's better than its price tag, burns cleanly, and is good for bulking a pipe out that has other, stronger strains.
It's a bit depressing to realise that on my last trip €12 was the most I spent on a g of hash, and the least I spent on one of weed. I love the green – even though it's (as a rule) lower in THC than hash, or at least the hash I smoke, a good batch can take you somewhere completely different, apart from the bouquet. But it just doesn't deliver the bang for the buck, and turns to hay after a week or so anyway.

Re: Best Budget Strains
Was that about the Acapulco Gold, which I've just seen on the Betty Too menu? Shame if it is. The strain was legendary back in the 60s and 70s for its potency, but I've never smoked it, and I was told it had become extinct. Whether that's true and whether what's sold in Betty's has anything to do with it other than bullshit I have no idea, but I was hoping against hope it was the real thing.OneHighMofo wrote:I have no idea where we where - perhaps Betty Too?
When I enquired about the quality of the menu's budget strain... at €5 p/g the bud tenders response was:
"shit"

It was indeed the Acapulco Gold I'm afraid. Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings. However - she was resolute in her assessmentFat_old_dwarf wrote: Was that about the Acapulco Gold, which I've just seen on the Betty Too menu? Shame if it is. Barney's Farm sell Acapulco Gold seeds which are supposed to deliver the goods...The strain was legendary back in the 60s and 70s for its potency, but I've never smoked it, and I was told it had become extinct.
