I'll try and cover as much as I remember along with the few notes I took (and only 1 picture and 1 video.) I do really apologise for the lack of photos, next time I'll be sure to take more.
Unfortunately there were a few places we didn't make that I would like to have visited. Boerejongens and Bluebird to name a couple. One of my friends has some medical problems which limited the amount of walking we could do, but he soldiered on well and combined with tram travel, we managed to get about a fair bit.
As we were spending three days and two nights, and also staying at the Meininger at Sloterdjik station, we took advantage of the new Amsterdam travel passes which includes the trains, aswell as trams and busses, allowing us to make a one off purchase (25€ each) and travel freely around the city by tram and back and forth to the hotel when needed on one of the frequent trains (6 minute journey to Sloterdjik.)
Our initial plan was to go to the hotel first and drop off our bags but sod that, we binned this idea as we approached Sloterdjik and proceeded straight to Central station. Off the train and follow me gents. Straight to Voyagers which is empty!
I ask to see the Hash they have on the menu. The budtender pulls apart a big lump of nice looking Morrocan and I'll have two grams of that please.(10€ per gram) I have a gram of the silver bubble and the amnesia haze is 1.1 grams for 10€ and looks nice! My go to strain in the UK and this looks a nice example so I have 10€ of this too. My friends try the Chocolope and the Fromage Bleu. We get the tobacco smoking booth to ourselves and now we are happy! I tuck the Silver bubble and hash away to roll up later and make 2 joints out of the Amnesia bag. It's the usual amnesia taste we all know and love and smokes nice, especially for the price. A nice sativa to kickstart the day. My friends Fromage joint is stinking out the booth, I'm not a massive cheese fan but smoked a bit of it. The Chocolope was kind of tasteless compared to the cheese for me but did the trick nonetheless and we left Voyagers fairly baked.
Back to the hotel and drop bags off. Can't check in yet but not a problem. Straight back to the train station. Sloterdjik station has one of the burger vendors (forgotten the name already) where the wall is basically a vending machine of ready made burgers and other fried delights. It's like the greatest wall a stoner can behold. We visited this wall many times. Back to Central station and back to Voyagers! At this point two of our plans had already gone to s%#t as we had initially planned to go straight to the Heiniken museum and get that done but now my mate wasn't bothered about this and "just wanted to get stoned" ok! We buy drinks and roll up what we bought earlier. The hash tastes lovely! Two of my mates kind of turn their noses up at it, they prefer bud. Ok, more for me! The silver bubble compliments it nicely and sets the mood for a stroll around the city.
At this point I'll say that we did absolutely nothing else for 3 days than sit in coffeeshops. We had a selfie outside the RijksMuseum and that was our sightseeing. I'm just going to list all I can remember buying.
Green place : I wanted the twizla which had been changed for a new cheese hash. It looked and smelled nice but I opted for a gram of Caramello instead.Nice flavour and smoked nice. I'd say the Moroccan from Voyagers was a bit stronger though. I also grabbed a gram of some kush, I can't remember which :/ Somewhere walking between Greenplace and De Pijp we stopped at an unknown coffeeshop for a quick drink and to roll a few more. I had a bit of temple ball from here for old times sake and my mate bought bags of the sprayed strawberry and apple hazes despite me reiterating they smell like that for a reason! "It tastes ace." Ok, I'll just smoke my hash
Katsu : 5grams of Amnes Hya. I love this hash and smoked a fair bit of it last time round. I didn't really smoke much of this over there. I thought I'd lost it but then I found it in my bag once I'd returned home *ahem
Dr Grinspoon. I loved this. The 100% Sativa thing works for me and the bag appeal was beautiful. Really small, dense, lime green nuggets that ground up lovely and gave a really nice cerebral high. We smoked a fair bit of this between us.
Amnesia ice powder isolator. 1gram 20€. This topped up many joints that day and felt like good value for the cash. Would buy again and probably 2 or 3 grams next time.
Only disappointment from Katsu for me was the black widow haze. Bought some pure pre rolls for walking around with and didn't work for me at all. Taste was off, far too harsh even by pure standards. I was already baked so it's hard to comment on effects of the strain alone at this point but would have been happier with more Grinspoon.
Club Media : I had to make it here this time around. OneHighMofo spoke well of this place to me and I had seen the menu so nothing was stopping me this time! Apart from three stoned imbeciles who don't want to leave Katsu because they're comfy. I decide to go on my own and they will wait at Katsu. Without me and my trusty Google maps they are bollocksed anyways, so off I go.
The decor is cool. A bit more fancy looking than other coffeeshops and the bud tender is friendly and very happy to show me the kandy kush hash. 3 grams of this and I ask for one gram of it seperate.(12.50€ a gram) One I thought id lost again but found in my bag back at home :roll eyes Super sticky soft hash that comes in Parchment paper and smells pretty awesome. I decide to sit and chill with a joint of the hash and a fresh orange juice. Clarkson, Hammond and May will still be bumbling around in Katsu so I can have a quick chat on messenger with my missus whilst smoking what was possibly one of the best joints of my life.i grab two grams of champagne haze as I leave. I return to Katsu battered.
We jump on a tram back towards central stations for some food and then to head to the hotel to check in. 4 x mixed grills in one of the steakhouses and we're on a train, checked in and back in Centrum with some champagne haze and hash cocktail pre rolls stuffed in my pocket. We end up in Cafe Freeworld. Here they have a bar (although we just stuck to the fruit juice and chocomel) they also have a seperate smoking room with TV's and Champions league football! We sit for over an hour on our own in this little chilled out spot and realise we are running low on bud and want to stock up so we have enough for back at the hotel before bed and for wake and bake the next day. We head up the street to Barneys because putting the whole tourist trap thing aside for a second, the Cookie Kush I had last time around from coffeeshop Amnesia was amazing. Probably the best of my trip! This time, nope. It's a terrible example from Barneys. I didn't even look at it before hand, I just kinda bounced in with confidence that it would be on par with last time. The Barneys Haze however is very nice so not all is lost. Back to afterworld for the end of the footie and we get talking with a few Morrocan lads who are in the smoking area. After we've got the awkward bit out of the way that we don't want to buy any cocaine from them we get talking football and hash! And they turn out to be a nice bunch of lads. We head back to Central station and back to the hotel. It's been a long day. We celebrate it with a big cone before bed into which we all piled different bits and bobs. The wi-Fi is pretty damn decent, much better than last time around so bravo Meininger. Headphones and Deezer and I'm floating on a cloud. Lights out. Day two to follow
