Thanks man - much appreciated. I didn't take many pictures I'm afraid. Just a few on day 3. I'll add them in to the next episode for sure.
Some of the other guys were rocking more pics - jDog and Lemming were both snapping away so I'm sure those pics will turn up at some point.

Day 2

This is perhaps the day most difficult to remember for obvious reasons - and it was the busiest day by far so I took only a few notes. I didn’t really buy much Coffeeshop gear either so this could be the shorter of the write-ups.

Too few hours later I awake at 11am - soon there’s a knock at the door and apparently the hotel service want to clean my bed sheets - get the hell outta here I'm chilling! After a slow shower and a stash stock check I'm ready to rock-and-roll with a champagne haze doob already prepared for the walk to breakfast. It's another glorious sunny day in the ‘dam. Although there’s an itinerary via ACD - I feel like the city is awash with possibility right now. I decide to walk to Dampkring on Haarlemmerstraat and grab a buy ’n' fly.

Here’s a shot of the 2.5g Champers nuglet:
Image

Mandarin cookies sounds interesting although it turns out to be nowhere near as good as the Tangerine dream from Utopia - it's not particularly orangey, not especially loud - the character of the terpene profile seems muted when judged against my other stash. Assessed in isolation it may well fare better - It does have a nice flush.
Mandarin cookies €15 - Dampkring2
7.2 meh

They also have Cannalope haze which is one from my todo list. This little bag will sit in my stash untouched all day - I’ll burn and vape it the next day - perhaps due to an underwhelming nose. But when I do try her - she's much better than the bag appeal. The palette is sharp and citrusy - I'm not sure if it's melon but it's certainly unique. Not loud - just different. An interesting plant that I've wanted to try for a while. She’s an interesting lady as an 8 week ‘Sativa’ (I hate using that term - it’s just plain wrong. But you know what I mean)
Cannalope haze €14 - Dampkring2
7.8 not bad.

Breakfast at la Grotte! The salubrious little dive that it is. God knows what the next owners of the building will do with all that Artex. I doubt a direct nuclear strike would be enough to get that lot off the walls. Still - the food is well priced (€7.50 for a huge plate of toast, eggs, bacon and salad), half-decent, it's cool to smoke and the staff are all lovely. Job done. Decision made.

Deleuks turns up and promptly accidentally covers us both in beer but redeems himself immediately with the chance of a buy in on a half g of 1e Hulps super sour diesel bubble hash that we'll press for rosin later! Boom - LAD.

Mowie arrives and they head off to get his digs sorted. I'm ready to get going onto Bluebird to meet the crew. First; a quick buy ’n’ fly from Voyagers (Silver Bubble) on the way there. Down at Bluebird I buy nothing - I do try Danny's Neville’s haze which he's not at all happy with as a purchase. And I can see why - I can't say I'm impressed either. Bad flush, no signature notes of haze. Just mediocre skunk on the palette. No bueno Bluebird.

Flitting between the seats outside that we’ve commandeered and the downstairs area that I keep jumping into to skin up - I have a number of nice chats and smokes with more ACDers, Drugsbunny helps me take a picture of the repeat purchase 2.5g Silver bubble nug that I picked up at Voyagers on the way across town:

2.5g’s of Silver Bubble

At this great little session - I get a chance to get to know jDog who very kindly gives me a replacement concentrate disk for the mighty as mine are oozing brown pus. Lovely. I also chat with Macky, Danny and the lovely Geordie chap that I still cannot remember his ACD handle despite him having the same ‘real life’ name as me. Reveal yourself good sir!

Occasional Bowl passes round a doob of a cup entry that TT gave him mixed with Utopia’s blue dream and that was next level shizzle - superb flavours. That was a common story in fact; Amsterdam seems to be packed with smokers carrying judges packs of some serious head stash level gear and everyone is happy to share. 4/20 is an awesome time to be in town, I’d imagined that the extra buzz would bother me as I like to keep things quiet and I’m much happier in a small group than with a big crowd but the buzz in town is contagious.

From Bluebird it's a lovely sunny and giggly walk to 420 near de kuil - we stop to wave at the webcam along the way. Town is absolutely packed today. Unfortunately there aren't enough seats for us all to sit down so after a short while Deleuks, Danny and the Geordie lad that I still can't remember his ACD handle and I set off for Betty too which is just around the corner so we can be smoking for 4:20. We make it just in time and strike lucky - managing to collar the upstairs to ourselves pretty much so the session can ensue unabridged. Dab rigs, stash bags and accoutrements come out - we all tuck in.

I buy bubblegum XL and something that I can't remember - neither are particularly memorable to be honest.
It's a great sesh though - it's nice to get a chance to smoke with Danny - I've enjoyed his ACD posts and the lad has great taste in weed for damn sure. We have some good geeky observations banter and a few dabs, same goes for Geordie (goddammm what it his ACD handle??) lad and jDog too. Lovely people, Good times.
Soon the rest of the crew arrive and we all sesh here for a while. It's a nice shop and a great venue for a decent size crowd.

Soon it's time to head back to Utopia as the boat trip sets sail at 7pm prompt. Potentially the only plan that ran on time for the entire duration of my stay! The entire ACD crew is reunited at this point. I get settled in for a biiiig sesh as I'm not doing the boat trip. Small vehicles on water do not agree with me.

I was planning to go back to the hotel and press some more Rosin out for later as the boat-trip party leave; but Danny turns up just in time and saves the day. Excellent stuff - we sit and smoke and chat for a while until he heads off for the evening to get some shut-eye.
TT and wife step in for the continued session plus first born and his pal keep popping across for the odd dab, I’m pretty sure that there were other ACD members here too - but I'm engrossed in great conversation with TT and wife who are very kindly sharing the wares from the judges pack and we’re getting some dabs in plus vaping through our stashes.

The cup winner turns out to be a buttery terpy wax. The taste is beautiful from a cool nail although it takes a couple of attempts to get the e-nail temp right for TT's vape accustomed lungs and I still haven’t found out the lineage or even the strain yet - headbanger OG I believe? Can someone corroborate that?

Ingi very kindly cleans a massive beaker base bong and we hook up the e-nail and get rosin pressing. We press out a couple of dabs of Silver Bubble and some SLH which makes the haze stocks dwindle somewhat - grabbing another bag of champagne haze seems like the right thing to do given the venue. There are some beautiful nugs in the tray and I cannot bear to see them broken up into larf. Plus I want nug-meat if we're pressing Rosin so I choose a 3g-ish chunk and Ingi very kindly throws in a hot-drink.

Having only ever been in Utopia alone before - looking back with retrospect I think that flying solo had somehow coloured my view of the interior. When it’s busy and packed with familiar faces any venue seems like a different place. This trip has solidified Utopia as a top five venue for me and all of a sudden I can see why it’s leading the pack for the best ACD Coffeeshop award.

The boat trip crew are back for 9:30 and in high spirits, it sounds like they've had a beautiful sunset journey along the picturesque canals. I’ve been busy getting crispy and am slightly the worse for wear at this point. The important matter at hand is that voting is closed - we have a winner for the highly coveted ACD best coffeeshop award! There are no prizes for guessing who's taken the winning spot. Utopia win with a small but clear lead over Voyagers. On hospitality grounds alone Utopia definitely deserve the prize.

Lemming presents Ingi with the cup and it's hugs all round - what a lovely lady she is. Kind, friendly, knowledgable and a brutally honest bud tender. Who could ask for more from a host? I think this presentation is as much an award for her and her colleagues as it is for the products and surroundings.

By 11ish most of the crew have headed off to 420 cafe. I stick around with first born and pal dabbing through our stashes. Papi is there too - as he trips off to meet the others, we leave Utopia - bumping into jDog, Macky and a few other outside who’ve been eating in the restaurant next door - we all head over together (I think); getting there around 11:30ish just as Deleuks makes a timely re-appearance. I buy a bag of blueberry as it's pretty much the only thing they have left.

It is absolutely appalling. It has no taste and pressing out a bud yielded exactly no Rosin whatsoever. None at all. Crap.

I’m not even going to rate it. To be fair to 420 Cafe - the tray of NYCD smells absolutely on point and Smirks has a bag which looks lovely - but at the point I approach; the tray is too larfy to compete with my current stash of prize lady nuglets.

Deleuks and I do some cheeky flower rosin pressing in the corner downstairs and dab up. Around 12:30 we decide to call it a night - Lemming and a few others are going next door for a late night drink but I actively try to avoid alcohol so I figure a canal side doob and then off to bed is the ticket. We're outside shooting the shit and about to head home when Deleuks gets an invite to his buddies pad for a late night dab sash. I’ve met those guys before and they’re happy for me to tag along so it looks like 4/20 isn’t quite over yet.

We walk across to the East side of Prins Henrikade because it’s too short a journey for a taxi driver to turn his car on apparently! My feet definitely do not agree. There are bunch of guys there from the UK Instagram scene over for the cup and there’s some seriously expensive glass and e-nail kit on the table. This is going to be a right session.

Lots more SSH and S5 haze flowers come my way - plus a variety of rosin and other amazing types of head-stash dabs are doing the rounds.
I finally taste an extract that convinces me that flower Rosin can be competed with on taste.

Deleuks and i press out some rosin from our flower stash to contribute to the mayhem. It’s a great little sesh and a fantastic; unexpected end to 4/20. We laugh, dab, talk and toke well into the early morning - these are young lads with some serious skills and great knowledge behind them already. I'm lucky to meet them. It’s 5am before I’m back at the hotel and in bed. Looking over the 5g of SSH and 5g of S5 that have been added to my stash - It looks like tomorrow is Haze smoking day (again). I still have various other bags of bits and pieces. I’ll consolidate those in the morning.

What a day. Easily my favourite Amsterdam day ever. Cracking!

Great read! Excellent writing. Thanks for taking the time.
Sounds like you guys had a great time.
I might have to adjust my regular early April visit to be there for 420 next year.

If that's not buying much gear, and if thats one of your shorter write-ups, then bring on Day 3! I'm sure I'm not the only person enjoying this excellent trip report. I love this forum!

Cheers guys :) Really glad you're enjoying it and thanks for the kinds words they're much appreciated.
It's been a lovely way to solidify my memories of the trip.... here we go again.

Day 3

Slumber is an understatement - I don't even open my eyes till midday.
According to the ACD itinerary - today is the trip to Haarlem; but as the crew is setting off around this time I figure that I must have missed that particular trip and so I opt to stick around town and explore some coffee shops. I feel like I've bought some fairly safe purchases so far, so today I'd like to push the boat out a little bit more and try some new strains.

I make two huge doobs for breakfast. One SSH, one S5. They are both absolutely superb. The SSH has a lemony citrus sharp fizz that makes me think of SLH every time I inhale. The nugs are small, tight, compact and perfectly dried with a great finger crunch texture. No need to grind these little ladies.

Looking at my stash, I seem to have a lot of little straggling bags. Crumbs and half crumbled flowers. There's no point coveting these little fellows - let's get them used up. I smash them all into a paper and that becomes the wake and bake for the crosstown walk. I'll pocket the other doobs for later. To be honest, it doesn't taste of a great deal; it does get me high though. I look forward to the purity of the single strain doobs I have in my pocket.

It is another beautiful day in Amsterdam. We have been so lucky with the weather. It really could not have been better. There is a chill wind rattling around the canals, but in the sunshine, you'd be forgiven for thinking it was summer. Glorious.

La Grotte for breakfast again! It's just so close! A LOT cheaper than Barney's and I have too much of a stone-over to think about anywhere else. Eggs please. Yes bacon too. I feel pretty brain-dead at this point
Coffee helps. Deleuks swings over to join me for food and soon it’s time to hit the road - The pre-rolls of SSH and S5 make a lovely breakfast dessert as we amble across town. Our destination is the Cannabis college: we plan to press out some SSH and S5 rosin so that we have a stash for the day then head south. I feel it important to hit de Graal tonight - it could be my last chance to enjoy the delights of my favourite coffee shop.

The Cannabis College is fairly quiet this afternoon. My friend Maria is there and she's talking to the IC Magazine cup winners. They turn out to be lovely guys, very happy to share their knowledge and experience and their ballin stashes of cup winning concentrates! half ounce slab after slab are pulled out for inspection. Oh my word. I’ve never seen anything like it!

Oh joy. I try dabs of all sorts, flavours and colours - in a VERY short space of time. Including some shoreline shatter.
I'm so utterly tatted words can not even do it justice - this has easily been a 5g + wake and bake, holy fuck I'm high. I’ve only been awake two hours!

We chat with these guys for a good hour or so, press out our rosin stashes and think about making a move.
I think we finished off the rosin that we pressed from 1e Hulps Super Sour Diesel bubble hash in here. Which I realise I haven’t reviewed yet.
Despite the fantastic yield we got (perhaps 60% or more) of totally clear white/blonde rosin - there isn’t a huge amount of taste. Which is a consistent effect for me with Rosin made from Bubble. What is lovely however - is the modulating effect that the hash has on my soaring flower high. The final two tabs are pretty large and mine gives me a wonderful body to round out my glow. Marvellous.

The little Grace Glass rig I bought back on the first day hasn't impressed me to be honest. There is far too much drag on the pull which I don't like. I figure that the best thing to do with her would be to donate her to the cannabis college - at least this way someone will get some use out of the thing. Maria looks absolutely made up at this - she gives me a big hug and says she'll reserve a seat for us anytime we want to return. What a lovely lady.

South then! Just deleuks and I - shooting the shit, avoiding the cyclists, getting crispy in the sunshine. Fucking happy days. I even take a touristy picture along the way.

It was too busy to buy at Boerejongens back on day one. But as we are passing today - it would seem rude not to pop in and have a look at the menu. Things are a bit quieter and we get a good budtender who's happy to be patient while we shop.

I buy a gram of OG sour diesel at €11 - the nose on this is very interesting, gassy and musty. Unfortunately, I rolled this g into a doob and promptly lost it - that must happen to me every single trip. I'm such a doofus sometimes.

Luckily I also buy 1.5 g of of Big Buddah cheese - also at €11. I remembered that not_the_monk had a good experience with her from CS Supermarkt - so I gave her a shot here instead. We were not disappointed. It isn't something I would usually buy. But the nose from the tray is incredible - we can smell it as soon as the BT opens the tub across the counter; we don't even need to look in the tray before I have asked him to weigh out a nice nugget.

The smoking room upstairs is totally empty and strictly no tobacco allowed we’re told. Suits us sir - buzz us through my moustachioed friend.

We have the place to ourselves for a good hour - enjoying the Gentlemans club like surrounds and the comfy high backed seating. It’s so clean in here - such a contrast to the other establishments in town. It’s a touch contrived yes of course - but the posters on the wall show that they don’t take themselves too seriously. I really like this place. I’m a sucker for a nice suit and a good moustache I guess! :D

I have no idea how long we stayed - I don’t think we smoked that much in here. We definitely vape and roll the rest of the cheese - she’s just MASSIVELY cheesy. LOUD flavours with a good potent punch. Really dark green spherical little trees with a tight structure and almost no visible hairs. Texturally she’s a beauty - both purchases from here have a lovely consistency.
Big Buddha Cheese €11 - Boerejongens
7.95 - Siiiiiiick cheese though bruv.

The dab rig goes round a few times - we definitely tried the Rosin that we pressed out at the Cannabis College from s5 and SSH.
After a couple of hours slips by easily with chats n dabs and doobs - I start to feel like we’re missing the crew - they must be thinking of heading back to town from Haarlem soon. I’ll check in with them and find out wha’gwaan. Texting Papi - I discover that he’s not even in Haarlem! They’re in Katsu! Lols - we arrange to meet at Utopia soon. i wanna hit De Graal for sure tonight so I’m hoping that Delueks and I can get a little crew going for that jaunt.

A chap joins us in the smoking room and we shoot the shit for another ten or fifteen minutes while we let the dab rig cool down.
The sunshine streaming in through the windows is making me guilty - we should be out in that not sat inside. Also - I can feel my belly rumbling. Boy do I have the munchies. A slow walk north is in order - good lord my feet hurt. I bought a travel card and haven’t used it a single time. Fool.
Still - it’s lovely to take in the sights and sounds of the city. And I’m in no rush. Pain yes. I’m in lots of pain. Rush - no.
As my partner in crime here is a yank - let’s medicate :D

Batavia for supper! The fucking legendary establishment that it is - this is now amongst my tops spots in the city.
Good and well priced Food until 9:30pm plus a great smoking room downstairs with an awesome basement canal view - and beer for those who want it. Add Voyagers menu within spitting distance and you have a recipe for stoner success.
We both have the Philly steak sandwich and fries. Medium rare please mr Chef. I also adore the British holiday camp manner in which the food orders are called downstairs - absolutely hilarious at times. Some of the best entertainment in the city. Of course we have a mini dab ’n' doob sash to wash dinner down with. Silly question!

It’s pushing on for 6:30pm now so Deleusks and I head across town to Utopia to meet the crew. Just about everyone is here.
I can’t resist getting more Tangerine Dream. I buy a nice few gram nugget - the remainder of that bag; a coveted and almost perfectly formed little 1g tree - will go on to become my farewell doob of the trip. Fear not dear reader - there’s still a lot to cover before that sad moment :)

I also get a gram of the Blue Dream which has a lovely nose. Gentle but exotic somehow. Neither parent shines - this is a cross that is greater than the sum of it’s parts. Very interesting indeed. Velvet smooth with cream, berries and spice on the palette. The citrus in the mix is very subtle but enough to lend a sharpness to the exhale which is very pleasant indeed. A very accomplished flush and finish on this product as I’ve come to expect from Utopia this trip.
Blue Dream - €can’tremember - Utopia
7.9 - Lovely

I am determined to make it to The Grail tonight, even if it means dodging thrusting spikes, being chased by rolling boulders or tousles with supernatural nazi’s. All three experiences I’m told you can find at various windows in the RLD.

There’s some agreement from the group and we have a little crew forming - Papi, jDog, Deleuks and I are up for the trip to De Graal. I’m trying to convince Papi we should take a tram but his energy is contagious and he easily talks me into the walk. Papi’s and Jdog’s stories and energy are enough to carry me to De Pijp despite the pain in my feet. I’m just happy to be on the road with a crew aiming for my favourite spot with a good few hours to enjoy it.

Deleuks has cycled on ahead so Papi, Jdog and I decide to swing by Club Media to check out the menu. It’s interesting as always. We buy ’n’ fly.
I grab a couple of gram bags: Pink @ €11.50 and Kandy Kush @ €11.50.
De Graal awaits. Deleuks texts to say he has a seat with Maria from the Cannabis Club. Onwards!
The bud-tender is busy as we arrive but still very kindly buzzes us through. It’s great to see Maria again - although she’s about to leave. Deleuks has procured my favourite spot in the building. Happy happy days.
We settle, we sesh.
Tonight - that’s what we do.

Deleuks and I head to the counter - it’s shopping time.
We get the G13, the Lemon skunk and a bag of something else I cannot remember for the life in me.
Later I’ll get a bag of the High-rise on the way out.

I have no chance at all of recollecting what we talked about that evening - but I do remember having a fantastic time.
jDog is great company - lovely to converse with. Really gentle and super interesting too. Papi is a legend - full of energy yet with a simultaneous sense of patience and calm; this is a lad with his being firmly centred - and with great taste in weed to boot. These lads can smoke too - we all dab, chat, vape, laugh and burn doobs until 1am. Good good times indeed. In my favourite spot, in my favourite city. I could not be happier.

We don’t see Firstborn and pal all day though - we’d swapped numbers yesterday hoping to catch them today and we ponder where they’ve got to and hope they’re ok. Later on - we’ll find out that Firstborn has lost his passport - shit. That’s always a stressful affair. I think i hear on the grapevine that FTcarer is flying in to rescue him so hopefully that’s all panned out well in the end - and that FTcarer enjoyed a brief coffeeshop visit silver-lining!

As we leave De Graal reluctantly - Deleuks cycles off into the night - which doesn’t quite feel finished yet. We make a loose plan to try and crash the Bulldog Hotel lounge if they’ll have us - so that’s where we head. JDog has a bad case of hiccups; despite his discomfort I can’t help but giggle at this which isn’t helping his cause so I kindly suggest that he carries both Papi and I back to the centre as the exertion may kill or cure him. Funnily enough he doesn’t go for this and as a lsat ditch attempt to rid himself of the evil he flings himself out into traffic out site the Heineken Experience and I follow blindly. JDog is suffering like me with painful feet so we hobble across the road with traffic bearing down on two very stoned little bunnies. Suffice to say I had the crap scared out of me but jDogs hiccups remained. Bummer.

It’s no bueno at the Bulldog - the door man I know well isn’t on so we’ve no chance. Deleuks is still up for late night mischief so he heads over to meet Papi and I outside the Greenhouse - we figure some late night vapes are in order. Papi heads off to his nearby digs to quickly use the bathroom and I sit patiently drinking in the canal view with a doob of something from my stash.

I’m so high that I’ve got weird auditory hallucinations going on - at one point a retiree on an electric wheel-chair is zooming up the canal towards me - somewhere out of sight, but close enough to be roaring in my ears is the sound of a motorcyclist grabbing a fistful. The resultant visual effect is both startling and hilarious - the wheelchair looks like it's approaching at mach two and I’m giggling to myself about the turbo-charged pensioner for ten minutes.

It would have been a nice moment - if I wasn’t aware of a silent bob looking mofo kicking cans and bottles around in front of me.
He’s muttering under his breath - clearly out of his mind on something and is trying to get my attention.
No fucking way do I want this dude tagging along on our last night chilled out smoke sesh; so I just ignore him and trance out waiting for Papi and Deleuks. They both arrive within five minutes and we load the vape with a few De Pijp purchases (I’ll review and rate them all in day fours write up).

Silent Bob is still kicking around during our little canal side vape session - he’s still trying to attract our attention - muttering away under his breath. Eventually - Deleuks says “He’s having a rap battle with himself”.
“Whaaat?” I giggle - I feel a late night RLD experience about to happen.

Now we’re all listening intently to what he’s saying and the dude must realise this because he makes a bee-line straight for us.
We’re the buddies he’s been looking for. A captive stoned audience that can initially do nothing but marvel at his lyrical cocaine riddled skills. They are not inconsiderable - or to be sniffed at - pardon the pun; regardless of his obvious level of intoxication - this lad is rhyming well. Uncontrollably- but well. Everything is a story, with a hook, a rhyme and a bar. He genuinely is rapping everything. And I mean everything.

I find this hilarious - a big part of me wants to keep this guy around for the spectacle alone. We could probably make a buck or two selling tickets it’s that funny. But our growing number and increasing volume are now making us a target for ‘cocaine' sellers. Immediately the hive mind kicks in and Papi, Deleuks and I split in opposite directions - looping round the benches and bunching back together in a huddle trying to shake our new tails. The lucky lucky man takes the hint and off is the direction in which he fucks. Great. That’s one dealt with.

Not so Silent Bob is a bit stickier and follows us. He’s getting a bit boring now - having not stopped rhyming during the entire interaction and Deleuks stops the dude dead in his tracks with a comeback that I can’t for the life in me remember - but it did include a bar about him fucking off in the opposite direction. Deleuks delivers his line and ‘drops the mic’ immediately doing an about-turn - I’m pissing myself, half apologising to the dude while still laughing hard.

His face is an absolute picture - his dial runs through every available emotion. Initially he’s delighted that Deleuks is rapping along, then he’s confused - as he's realised that he has to stop talking now and that it’s someone else turn to rap. When the punchline comes - his jaw hits the floor and he stands there bemused that he’s been beaten and blown-off.

Good lord - that was funny. And a natural end to the evening. Papi heads back for slumber and Deleuks and I grab some pizza before heading home ourselves. The lad sticks with me right to the bitter end this trip - thanks man. Much appreciated and what a laugh.
Another fantastic day in the dam over - tomorrow is my last day. Let’s make her count boys. I still have a healthy 7g stash to get through and some rosin left. Tomorrow will be a good day. We arrange to meet for breakfast again.
It’s 3am. Sleep time.
