A little rap I composed:

This is a song but not musical masturbation (fuck that jazz)
about a little place with no fixed location
coffeeshop canalside is the place to be
be it on the corner, in de gracht or in a tree
parked in the car,
sat with a lager in the bar
Don't know who, when or how
But Mr. Canalside'll come thru with a doob of that WOW (that's loud)
Haze, kush, casey jones it don't matter
He's even got grams of that translucent shatter
So if you know what's up this the shop
DeLeukstenugs out n over with a mic drop!!!

I have no idea what time I went to bed. I do know that my final doob was smoked alone outside the bulldog, where I needed to hold onto the canal railing to steady myself from wobbling too much :)

....... You sent me a text with the Agenda for Day 3 at 03:24 local if it helps to establish your bedtime !

Great report and great to see you and our local hero ( DLN16 ) again man ! Great to meet Rickydude as well - he's a good wingman !

Looking forward to the rest of the report and hoping that Friday was a really Grand Finale.

I meet a contact who has serous import hash game. Pricey but we grab 3.5g of shoesoles morrocan and 3.5g sweet smoky Nepalese oily black. This is the import quality I was looking for
You're not the only one. That's the sort of black we don't see in the shops. Why not?
I took the opportunity to wallow in some W.C luxury and used the salubrious bathroom. Really - it's worth a mention and a visit on its own merits. I'd have taken a picture but it didn't seem like the right thing to do.
I know what you mean, and it's nice to be able to use facilities that are not cut precisely to the dimensions of one toilet and one smallish person, but the visitors to this exclusive gentlemen's club must be slightly grubby and unkempt, because there's no mirror or soap...

Lovely read, looking forward to the rest.

No mirror!
I had not noticed this! Just how on earth will the BT's tend their 'tache's without such important infrastructure?

Now listen up peeps - this is mofo's verse.
And I’m here to tell you what’s up with that cheeky yankee bugger,
my local mokum partner in crime, my brother from another mother.
I’d wondered all along - but now it’s easy to name,
how DLN16 has access to this import hash game.
How obvious it is now, how easy to see,
That the aforementioned yank is an alter for KINGBEE!

Yes, yes Kingbee I am
2-bit wankpiece, don't like green eggs and ham
but I like to swallow a whole egg of hash
Then poop out the culero and blab on and on about the pure white ash
I'm talking about why it's so much better than your's, my head-stash
This shit you smoke some straight doo-doo
Looks like something off the bottom of my - would you like a toke of this shit called shoe?

hahahah :D that deserves an update!

Day 3

Fortunately the workmen are done re-pointing so my sleep is unabridged. 10:00am crawls round and my alarm wakes me up. Happily - the Mighty is sat next to me loaded with SSH and as the sun batters in through the window scorching my toes I cannot resist an immediate wake and bake. I’d left the e-nail plugged in too - so I follow that with a couple of dabs of the imports and a quick BHO hit before jumping in the shower. Everything is better high. EVERYTHING.

Being the puppies of habit that we are - La Grotte calls once brother dearest and I after we’ve had a quick canal side doob. Mike is on his way over and DLN16 is ready to rock too. Breaker breaker 1-9 - looks like we got us a convoy.

I roll a Somas Amnesia doob from 1e Hulp. The fruity flavour is interesting this morning. There really isn't too much to complain about but after two days of smoking I'm getting hard to please :) All the other flavours are intact and the flush is good. Definitely better finishing than the last bags I bought there but this example isn’t quite have the extreme savoury edge as the last time they had it on the menu.

DLN arrives and suggests Hill street blues, Ricky and I have never been - so off we go.

Image

We get the best seat in the house - downstairs with the couch backing out of the huge open window onto the canal. I cannot believe I’ve never been here. Perhaps ones of the reasons we stay out of these 420 friendly bars is that personally I’m not a huge fan of alcohol or it’s effects on myself and others, I do actively try and stay away from drinkers most of the time as generally I find them irrational, boorish and a little bit dull. Sorry hard-drinkers. I simply have a limited capacity for hearing your stories for the second and third time - in any given hour :)

Speaking of which. There’s a chap sat in front of us with a pint and a whisky chaser. He’s inquisitive about the dab train - so we hook him up with a decent introduction. I think we’re all a little apprehensive at being invaded by a piss-head so early in the day. Especially as he’s trying to get us to let him do his magic tricks on us.

The dab has ‘an effect’ on him. So ten minutes later when he comes back in the room - sweating :D I feel for the guy - who seems lovely once my initial trepidation had subsided - it’s obvious that he’s a clever lad. Pissed yes - but I’m not here to judge him for his choice of intoxicant - if he’s a boorish clod, I’ll vote with my feet. We get to know the guy and it turns out he’s a Canadian street magician that performs in Dam square.

Fuck it I think - I’ll let him do his trick. He’s insistent after all. And I did kill him (a bit) with that dab.

Standing up next to him - he tells me he’ll neither touch or harm me. Promptly puts his hand up my shirt - grabs a fist-full of cloth and stubs his fag out into the ball he’s made. We all watch the lit fag-end smoke as it disappears towards my chest. Suffice to say in that moment I’m a tad concerned that this might go wrong in his inebriated state - but I figure it will either be a good trick or make a good story so what the hell...

Of course - my t-shirt remains intact, our tiny minds however - are completely blown.

He shows us another coin trick and very kindly gives me some insight and some tips on a couple of things I play around with - the coin knuckle-roll that I’m finally getting pretty good after ten years of practice at the palm-flip which is still totally beyond me. What a guy. The palm flip is a magic circle secret that I’ve never managed to convince any magician to demonstrate for me. Thanks Mark the magician! Much appreciated.

Image
Look how high DLN16 looks - his face is totally blurry! That must be some BAAAAD weed.

It’s soon time for a change of scenery and I fancy taking our kid out east on the tram so we plan a trip to Het Ballonetje. D and Mike cycle and we arrange to meet them there.

We’re getting used to the tram system now - although this journey includes a change, which I royally fuck up. Leaving us standing at wrong stop for five minutes like lemons. Once I realise - and take the heat from #rollseyesricky we’re back on the road and at the little balloon in another ten. The crew arrive soon after and we do our respective shoppings.
Much to DLN16's distate - I buy more haze :)

2.2g amnesia for €20 which I intend to press for Rosin later. One gram of White ballon for €9 and a gram of G13 - the mr nice cut apparently.
Rickydude scores a bag of the Special K €12. There’s a strong consumption verplict vibe which Deleuks takes a dislike to since he’s a frequent visitor so he pisses and moans in his inimitable fashion until they relent. HA! Fuck you Balloon dudes! They get a double fuck you for the signs on the stopcontakt (power outlet) that says’ ‘DO NOT USE’. Tightwads. We’re not allowed to dab here either - but we set up upstairs in the den and have a nice little sesh with the four of us. Some lovely doobs go around and we vape some nice bits from the stash.

The Amnesia is awesome. Better, cheaper and stronger that 1e’s and at this price she’s a gem.
The flush is probably about as good as Eerstes example - close but not perfect. Good enough for me as I’ll vape her mainly.
The dabs we press out are supreme - the lads might not even remember them as I passed them round during the utter carnage of our final sesh later on that day but Amnesia is one of my favourite ladies to press. I love the astringent spice sage of this strain and when she’s concentrated all those flavours seem so dense, like a fucking neutron star of flavour. The fruitiness and the savoury meld into something indescribable. Ever since a pal of mine suggested it - Parsnips often spring to mind when I’m smoking Amnesia. Sweet parsnips roasted in butter and brown sugar. I know. I know. It spoiled it for me too. Next time you try her - think Parsnips. :D
7.9 - solid.

Special K - €12
This little lady had an exotic nose. Her parents are genetics we'd never heard of. Slyder x Unknown indica. Looking her up it seems that she’s a mix of Afghani and Northern Lights. The fruity character of her lineage is all up front with an interesting sour back-note.
There’s loads of potential in the nose but the taste is a little bit underwhelming when smoked. It reminded me of a particularly fruity Casey Jones. Sweet and sour with red berries and sandalwood sweetness. She’s a total winner in the vape though. One of the loudest and distinct profiles I sampled this trip.

Of course she’s a mix of familiar flavours - but it’s an interesting mix never-the-less and I’m enjoying putting faces to names on these tastes, sampling all these old school flavours side by side really helps inform the palate and give experience to draw on when trying to investigate the character of something new. This trip might be characterised by finding new flavours from old strains.
Not a bad thing.

‘Special K - Het Ballonetje'

G13 - €13
Oh my stars the nose on this is incredible. Like the best bag of NYCD you’ve ever had married with sandy desert hash plant and sweet floral spice. The sugary notes are like pollen in my nose and smelling the bag makes me sneeze.
This example is almost as good as last time i bought it. Unfortunately it needed a few more days in the dry box and probably a couple months curing at least to bring out her best - but she had amazing potential. Marked down accordingly.
R: 7.7
M: 7.3
Lots of potential - I know this shop can do better.

The sun crossing the street outside reminds me of the passing day - someone suggests a trip to the Sarphati Park which is only a few blocks south and the whole crew are down. Time to get the fuck out of dodge. Mike chips off somewhere and comes to meet us later. Another amazing session in the sun.

‘The spot’

‘Some ducks'

When mike arrives at the spot - I have a little burn round the park on his renter. Absolutely great fun. Despite days of badgering - Ricky will not get on and have a go. Even given the berating he’s taking from DLN16 he seems intent on not cycling. I get the feeling I’m wearing him down though. Next time for sure - then we’ll really cover some ground :)

Unfortunately It’s soon time for Mike to say his goodbyes, he’s flying out in a couple hours. It’s been great to see him and we make plans to arrange another trip as soon as circumstance allows. Adios amigo - till next time!

Sitting in this spot a good while longer - we scheme and smoke. Time is running short now - talk is of re-buys, shops and strains that need to be hit. We have the rest of today and most of tomorrow left. But that’s no excuse for slacking.
We still have plenty of gear, but not enough to get us through. So a shopping run is planned and executed.

We hit club Media - it’s a no buy from both of us. The menu looks ok - but there’s nothing I don’t have in my pocket. We’re getting choosy now.
Onto Katsu then? The Mango haze is bio-organic and i pay €30 for 2.2. Ricky buys a bag of cherry pie at €20 for 1.4g. Despite loads of bag appeal and a strong cherry nose - there's very little taste when burnt. We tried two bowls in the vape too - similarly disappointing. Just mild fruity red berry notes. Nothing to live up to the bag-appeal’s promise.
R: 7.2
M: 7.3

There’s no room outside - and they don’t have the shades set up, so we decide to push on to a shop I’ve not tried yet but have always wanted to.

Yo Yo is just around the corner. It’s a lovely shop - typically dutch decor, but totally atypical for a coffeeshop. The clean white wooden interior is inviting and comfortable. Lovely large sofas, interesting accoutrements and an invitingly quiet vibe. This is where I’d come to work or relax alone if I were a local.

The menu is mainly outdoor bio-organic which is what’s piqued my interest. I’m not expecting much in terms of taste transfer or potency. I understand the limitations of outdoors growing in terms of quality control. Quality being a very subjective term of course.
However - what is true is that the indoor gardeners have better control of pests and other curveballs. So the hydro Vs outdoor debate continues to roll.

I’m open minded - and have a cunning plan.
There’s not a great deal of bag appeal when judging this product against hydro. There’s lots of leaf - and the nose of every bag has an element of chlorophyll green to it which experience of smoking badly dried indoor tells me will transfer in the taste when burnt. Despite this - the prices are excellent. So I grab a bag of Frysian Dew and Master Kush. D bought NL5. They were all €5 for 0.7g

OHMF’s tip of the trip.
Vaping outdoor weed ROCKS.
I really think I got best of the taste and effects from these ladies by choosing not to burn them.

Considering the 7+ grams of strong indoor I’d smoked that day - all the outdoor I sampled here was stronger than anticipated I was pleasantly surprised when every hit made a difference and cut through my high. I’d only just finished a full gram doob of Eerste Hulps’ ECSD when we walked in. By the time our well received tosti’s had been consumed - the outdoor did it’s job wonderfully and brought about a lovely relaxed and happy high. I was content - for a good while.

The Frysian Dew has notes of purple grape and fruity sage. It’s not loud - but it’s there, and it’s pleasant. She’s an interesting plant with some very odd leaf mutations and I’ve always wanted to sample her. The Master Kush tasted exactly as expected - all hindu umami and smoky herbaceous spice. Again - not loud, but her signature notes are intact. The NL5 that D bought we burn in a fattie - and again, it’s MUCH better than anticipated. Yes it’s a ‘bit green’ and no it doesn’t match a decent indoor in terms of flavour transfer or intensity and is no-where near the level of potency one could expect from indoor. But it is super smooth in the throat and it isn’t a product I’m judging by the same criteria as other indoor examples.

Next time I’m in town - I’ll be sure to make a beeline for Yo Yo and buy a big variety bag of these ladies. They’re perfect as a modulating antidote to a whirling head high and would make a lovely wake and bake. At these prices they’re impossible to walk away from if one has the correct technology for consumption. I’m doubly happy with these purchases.
D and I agree that we’d rate them all in the high 7’s. Much to Ricky’s distaste.

Image
‘Outdoor crew'

We’re close-by; and it’s just after 6pm. So there’s no other choice. Onto De Graal.
I buy a bag of their Lavender at €14 as it’s a strain I had on the list to sample again for old times sake.
To be honest she’s not great. She’s not particularly lavendery - which is a problem. The flush and finish are ok. A little bit harsh when burnt. If I’m honest I could have deciphered all that from the bag appeal but chose to choose despite the nose. Never mind.
7.3 - meh

Ricky grabbed a bag of the super highrise and made very positive noises about it - unfortunately I forgot to ask him for his rating; and I didn’t sample her myself this time. It’s a lovely little session at De Graal. Maria arrives and sits behind us so we have a nice little crew sat downstairs in the corner. I’m so chilled I don’t smoke too much in here - I just love this place. We don’t stay too long though as we’re all getting hungry.
DLN16 needs to head home to see the missus - so we plan to hook up later this evening. Ricky and I roll some doobs and set off back to town in the early evening sunshine - we have been SUPER lucky with the weather this trip.

The plan is to hit Batavia so that we can smoke, vape and dab while we eat. Gotta keep the endo-cannabanoid system topped up at all times.
By the time we’ve ordered food and found a seat Deleuks is back! The crew is solid once more :)

Alongside all the other doobs and vapes we hit during this little session I roll a mango haze doob from Katsu and stick some through the vape.
Ricky is mighty impressed by the doob declaring her one of the tastiest pure numbers I’ve passed him. Personally I think I’ve experience better examples of this lady but he is right. There’s not much bag appeal in these tiny little nugs but boy are they compact, perfectly finger crunch dry and reeking of rotten fruit when crushed.
The haze notes are all back-end, letting the sour throat hit of the ripe mango come through as the hero of the profile. Very pleasant indeed.
M: 7.7
R 7.8

Talk now is centred around a recon mission - scoping out some choice purchases, being tough on ourselves and the BT’s if their product is wack. We christen it the walk-in-walk-out-fuck-you tour and head off. Doobs rolled, vapes loaded. Super high on rosin and BHO dabs.
Our destinations are Green Place, Basjoe, Rusland and finally Green Place.

Green place for a buy ’n' fly first. We fully expect to tell the BT to fuck off as their product and service have been not up to par recently and the prices remain high. I get the crap service I’m expecting, but OH BOY. The shoreline is REEKING! I cannot walk past that. She’s a different pheno to the 137 example from 4/20 and this one is a beauty. All pink lavender and rose. Fruity as all hell and super sweet on the finish.
Just mouth wateringly good.
Shoreline €15 Green Place. 7.9 - credit where credit is due. Marked back on price

The Silver Bubble tray smells amazing - but is all larf and I’m not buying that even at €10. I make a note to come back tomorrow.

instead I grab a gram of the Alien Technology. Which smells like OG on steroids. There are some STUPENDOUS looking nugs in the tray. I ask for a gram and get a great little chunk.

This is easily the best OG I’ve had a nose on for the entire trip. The Notorious from Voyagers was good, but this is next level. Super sour - but not gassy. Fruity and herbal, the top end is almost haze it’s that sweet but the sour funk brings the experience back down into the booming bass notes. Impressive flush and finish. It seems like GP is back on form! Best Kush cross of the trip by a country mile. Super sour with a lemon and lime top end kick to the OG chemmy base funk. Banging.
7.9 - I’ll consider my words eaten. Marked back on price.

Ricky buys the Blueberry yum yum at €14. He enjoys it but says it’s unremarkable really. I can’t even be bothered to try it.
There are some shoreline style floral vibes which are pleasant but not enough to draw me in.

We head into Basjoe a bit further south just to have a look at the menu. I’m always put off my the 2g deals but the bud tender is super friendly, super helpful and says I can get single grams no problem despite me telling him I’m just window shopping. He’s happy to show us a few strains and the Master Kush does indeed smell on point. I decide to pass - the BT is 100% happy with that decision. What a lovely man.

Into Rusland we trip - Ricjy snapped a gram of White Russian out of the BTs hands when the lemons sang from the tray.
It was a good price (that I can’t remember now) and had loads of bag appeal. Taste didn't transfer well in a spliff though apparently. I’d had better luck with her last year but again I forgot to get a rating from Ricky.

The final stop of the tour was the Green house - where we did actually tell those guys to fuck themselves and their shitty menu and got the fuck out of there plus Deleuks called someone a cunt (probably). Disgraceful behaviour.
Actually that’s not true at all - we’re all far too polite for that.
We sat outside and I had a cup of green tea.
Lovely.

Bulldog it is then. The final major session of the trip. Tomorrow will be a quieter day no doubt so lets make this one count.
I do not even have words for the kind of carnage that went on in this session - suffice to say we were all absolutely wankered come bed-time. We pressed rosin in here, dabbed loads of haze and import hash and just about finished the BHO. We smoked doob after doob, finishing both of D’s Karma G bags bless him and Rosin pressed the candy Kush hash Mike gave us as he left - thank you very much sir, plus I pressed out a g of ssh and the rest of the alien tech which all got dabbed too. We were one set of high motherfuckers. That’s for damn sure.

Bed time!

Alien Tech Rosin dabs, lekkerrrrrr!!!! I had totally forgot about that...

Wait who did I call a cunt at GH, or were you taking the piss - because I only recall unloading on that stupid Dutch broad who kicked me in the rear for no reason? (edit: maybe I should try to actually read more completely, I blame everyone's favorite concentrate-powered locomotive)

Also this thread has got me all nostalgic and already seriously looking forward to the imminent Episode VII - The Fiets Awakens, in theaters this summer!
