Quick visit to the Dam 23-25 aug 16

Hi fellow ACDers !
So the day has finally come ! Took the train at 8 this morning and will arrive at Centraal station 10h later...
Considering where I am leaving, plane is not really an option. It is about 3h30-4h to get to Schiphol , but I have to change airport inbetween two planes, plus customs... So in the end not that much time gained, and money wise it is catastrophic... I'd rather spend my money in cs ;)
I chose to stay at Voyagers cause I think it is really convenient : decent cheap hotel with a great cs, close to Centraal station and Batavia. what could you possibly ask more ! Don't get me wrong, I'd love to stay in an apartment, but unfortunately I never spent more than 2 days in the Dam, so hotel it is !
Now to the fun part :D
I was planning to go to Haarlem straight upon arrival (as if I wouldn't already have enough train today...), but after reading all the great hashes report about Boer and Bij (thanks DLN16, Marok21, CC...) and considering my tight schedule, I decided to skip Haarlem in the end. Sorry FBN ;p
So today's plan goes like this : Voyagers at 6pm, meal at Batavia, and then Boer west and Bij. BTW is Bij just a buy and fly shop too ? If so could anybody point me to a friendly place to sample my newly acquired gear ? Then depending on my state (read 10hrs of train and low tolerance...) it will either be back to Batavia or straight to bed.
Program for tomorrow is particularly ambitious lol Brekkie at La Grotte, the onto Dampkring 2, Utopia, beer and a toke at Sound Garden, Eerste Hulp, Easy Times and finally stepping into De Graal at 6pm sharp for the T&T ! What's the point of planning if you can't dream a little lol If I survive this I'll try Biladi for dinner. If I understood correctly it should be in De Graal's street, but I didn't find it on googlemaps. A little help to find this restaurant would be much welcome. And finally back to Batavia/Voyagers.Thursday morning packing and chilling at Voyagers before departure around 12.
I'll try to keep this topic updated, but I am almost sure I'm gonna get Amsterdamned, so worst case scenario I'll end this travelogue at home...Whatever you are doing, hope you are enjoying it ;)
++

As we understand it is buy and fly at Bij as well, but it isn't far to Kashmir lounge, which is awesome an sort of the direction you are heading back to Batavia area from Boer area... Alternatively you could hit massawa a little north-ish of Boer and have a go at their superb royal, top shelf lekker classi moroccan for the real fans! Also their mangoSteen soda thingy is uber delicious! :)

Ooh Soundgarden sounds nice, 'tis a Beee-eeeee--youuu-tah-full day here in NL, so maybe after my spurt of productivity today, I'll mosey that-a-way for a well-earned ijs-kuid biertje!

Oh and yes De Bij is indeed a buy-and-fly to the max!

Sights in Oud-west Amsterdam:

- Bij and Boerejongens West are in De Baarsjes, practically adjacent to one another.

- For the quality and fair priced (especially when purchased vis-a-vis sliding scale) classic Marocs-hasj's be sure to hit up Massawa, El Marssa and Flashback (may still be closed for holidays/renovations)

- Instead of Batavia (since you're staying right in the vicinity of it anyhow), I propose a linear crawl around oud west. After picking up your smokeables, stop by De FoodHallen, for a healthy dose of variable food options. Then backtrack a wee bit to Kashmir Lounge, for relatively cheap beers/drinks (compared to many centrum pubs), and 4/20 friendly ambience. Their smoking room is great (especially when there's no actual tobacco smoke contaminating it), has oriental style seating with low tables and pillows on the ground, great for getting stoned into a heavy sedated stupor, whilst enjoying a cold one and some live music. Bonus points if you vape, they have a volcano on-site for use (though sometimes the staff cannot be arsed to find the bowl pieces, Dutch service at it's finest go figure).

Soundgarden is also a very good bet, close to eerste (which could be dangerous) and Ifuthe weather is nice probably the best option...! :D

DLN: Drink a biertje or two for us and have fun, graag, so fucking wish we could join you! ;)

My bad man, some unfortunate sequences of events came up yesterday (aka I didn't wanna see your punkass, haha only kidding)...
Alas, I will try for today, but I really need to stay at peak level of productivity these days (especially given yesterday's happenings), but maybe we could meet at cannabis college around 16:00-16:30, and then shortly after mosy on towards Sound Garden for a biertje or two...
