Noordermarkt

Post by LLMReb »

Did anyone hit up Noordermarkt today? I sure am missing that place today!

After crepes, I'd love to load up on mushrooms, buy some bread and cheese, then head to a houseboat for evening mushroom saute while watching the tourists float by.

I've always meant to visit, and have never managed it. But am I the only one who feels compelled to read it as 'No order markt'? Probably. Carry on.

OFD, on a Saturday, hit up Iberica on Harlemmerstraat, then amble over to the Markt for all sorts of delicious stuff. Say hi to the dude that helps operate La Tertulia ( he will b there selling geodes). Pick up a nice leather journal. Get some fresh squeezed fruit juice. Load up on cheese, bread, mushrooms.

I recommend with a nice, mellow, outdoor varietal such as Frysian Dew. If you can score some Hacker-Schorr german beer at the Albert Hein, you will touch upon an ecstacy level of mythical proportions!

Heaven!

Ibericus on Haarlemmerstraat is the bomb, could really go for some Joselito or 5 J's jamon right now, and it isn't even half ten...

Haha funny you mention Reb, me and the missus most certainly did hit up Noordermarkt yesterday!
It's right in our neighborhood, so always nice for some fresh produce, flowers and odd treats - jams, stroopwafels, big ole brandwurst broodjes

Matty, is that the market that runs down Westersrraat? Pea soup sounds like a treat in the Fall/Winter!

dwarf, I am with you. It was even on my list of must does during my August trip, but I was very lazy on that trip. I will be back in December and it will be on my must do list.
