Hi guys,
since I am going solo this time I like to enjoy the city and meet good people to hang around.
and I hear that many of good coffee shops are closed by some stupid reasons. Is it ture?
I have not been in the city over 3 years now, so any new place to try out? my favorite places are voyagers
dampkring, popeye etc... and can anyone please tell me what is testing tuesday on voyagers?

25days to go
can't wait ;) Thanks

Mjellos amsfame, and welcome to the forum! :)

While it is true that some of the best shops have gone (Nes being the one that is missed the most, but that is a lot more than 3 years ago), many of the top shops remain and a lot of shops have risen to become (at least in our opinion) very worthy of a visit or ten! :D Be warned though, especially with respect to the quality and processing of weed and value for money (also mostly wrt weed) things are not as they once were in Amsterdam.

Here are some of the favorites of ours and a lot of people on the forum:

De Graal – very few ppl have anything bad to say here, value and quality at the very top, awesome gezellig, large and unique shop with a lot of small (and large) cool features such as the décor and the music room at the back with drum kit and all.

Boerjoenges chain (includes Boejoengens West, Boerjoenges Center and Bij) – a little controversial currently on the forum for complicated reasons (search and you shall find) ;), but in our opinions and a lot of locals one of the best (three) shops with regards to value and quality, especially in the new school / block hash category where they lead the field (maybe with a few others).

1e Hulp – One of the best wrt quality as well as value. Weed as well as hash quality here is praised by many.

Easy Times – Large and friendly shop with a big and awesome menu. Well cured and flushed weed at ok prices (not as good as some of the others, although the ash is nicely priced for the quality which is very good).

Utopia – Not the biggest of shops or the very best of menus (get the AM cream hash though, very good value and awesome quality) but it is up there and if you take service, location, décor, Ingi and the clientele into account it might be the best shop in the city ;) Winner of the world (at least the ACD world) famous Slimline Cup award!

Massawa out west is a very laid back and nice local’s shop with morrocan hash to die for, from real and genuine morrocans ;) Their mangosteen juicydrink is highly addictive, think heroin, coke and crack at once…. :D

You mention voyagers which is also very nice (although to us not as good as many would have it, Kushdee and other weeds are great though and the atlas hash fairly priced but not near the Massawa or other good hash shop products). Bonus is that it is opposite Batavia which is a very smokers friendly bar (smoekrs lounge downstairs by the canal, great food, awesome staff). It is a must go place to meet great people and generally have a god time.

Tweede and Dampkring are good for a visit or five in our book and there are a lot of other favorites for different experiences and products out there, but the above will not let you down in our book! ;)

Have a great one!

...adn testing tuesday is when Voyagers test out a strain they are growing / know people to be growing on the peeps buying, you never know what it is and IWRC it is always 10 €. Had it once, wasn't spectacular but wasn't bad either (think it was a hybrid of some sorts, good early day smoke but lacking in both strenght and falvor compared to their better weeds).

Thank you so much CopenhagenCouple ;)
Everything seems great to know. I think, I will try stores that you mentioned. actually I've been Easy Times and Utopia before and
I remember those two shops were awesome and of course, I will visit there again for sure since I have more than a week ;)
I just can wait to be there 24 sleeps left. I am also feel bad about missing out some of best shops but like you said there should be new stores to explore I believe.

oh by the way, I was around ACD for many years. A couple of days ago, I was trying to log in but I forgot my username
so I registered again with another E-mail. just let you know. Thanks again for helping me out man.
If you are in the city early Oct I'll buy a drink ;)

You have been posted on the October Whos In Town page. Scroll down to your month and click it.

You can see who else may be in town during your stay.

If you don't see yourself, click your refresh or reload button
Your browser sometimes loads pages from your local cache and
you don't get the latest update.

Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.

Set yourself up with your own T&T or Toke and Talk, where you pick the coffeeshop
(your favorite) and the date and time, I will post it and you wait for folks to
show up, if they do you'll have a T&T. If they don't you still get to enjoy your
favorite coffeeshop!

By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.

I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.

You can do a little practice shopping on the Coffeeshop Menus page.
Any with arrows are less than six months old.

Any nice new menu pictures you can get will be much appreciated.
Always ask first, better told no than thrown out.

For something a little different try the 15 minute train ride to Haarlem.

No problem man, glad to help!

If you are there more than a week you may wanna check out Haarlem as FBN suggests,,it really is a very nice and cozy place... :) Also shops like the spirit in the Jordaan (pinball and arcade games, very good value products, very much a loc al's place), Green Place (killer products, although some report bad service), bluebird and one or two other shops out west for prima moroccan (we hear that flashback and el Marssa are very good, but never been).

We also used to post here under different name, many smokes ago... :)

Sadly we are unable to come to ams early October, had an invitation from some very nice guys to test their block hash, but had to decline :( :( :(
