Day 2

9:30? Up-and-at-em. Really?
A full 24 hours smoking and I’m awake at 9:30? OK whatever - no point grumbling. Sunlight is streaming in though the window I left gaping and toasting my toes. That’s as good an inspiration to drag my arse out of bed as any - so a quick skin-up, a nice shower and we’re off by 10ish.

It’s a Strawberry Banana doob plus a complimentary vape for the wake and bake sat in the Vondel Park considering my moves.
Mike is flying home today so I plan to get uptown, eat and meet him asap. I wants me some houmous!
I get all the way over to nieuw markt - head down towards the Bluebird only to find the Houmous House is closed on Tuesdays. Random. Bugger.

Being the creature of habit that I am - La Grotte beckons. They do a decent eggs on toast (yes I know it’s difficult to get wrong) but the Dutch seem to have the ‘dish’ down to a fine art. On the way over I glance at Green place’s menu - nothing catches my eye, the Alien Tech isn’t on anymore so I take a pass.

Over to Haarlemmerstraat then - three minutes later I’m sat down loading a vape bowl (Did I mention how good this cycling thing is yet?) With an OJ served from a hipster jar. Sigh - this place is heading downhill. Consoling myself with a fat LA fire number and slamming some through the mighty is the ticket.

It's dark and fruity. The kush base all savoury sage and incense is rounded out by the fruity black berry finish. Velvet smooth and packing quite a punch the same character is evident through the vape. I had hoped to squish her in order to add to the quiver of flavour arrows but there’s not enough left to get more than a couple dabs. Think I’ll stick with vaping her and extracting maximum value. .

I think.
Time passes.
Boy I'm high.

Mike arrives before too long - we’re in no rush. We roll some more and have a few vapes. Mikes already cruising on the edibles and in fine form this morning. The sun is still shining - it’s another glorious day so we scheme a ride out to Baba’s new location in the north-west.
I don’t want to keep repeating myself and boring you stupid. So at this point - until I say otherwise, you can assume that riding around town is abso-fucking-lutely-lovely. This trip could have quite easily been 100% satisfying just cycling around town in the sunshine.

Baba is only 10 minutes via the scenic route (that’s the route I always take when failing to read maps correctly) the shop is clean, a little dark but comfy. Low seating with good cushions around two large tables complete with Verdampers for use (no deposit required). In the back there’s another largish room for chilling that looks even comfier. *edit* For those that care - the bathroom facilities are top notch too - perhaps even Boreongens level good!

The menu has a good spread of prices and I can already see that the tubs are nicely stocked with decent - well looked after nugs of product. The Budtender is knowledgable, friendly, patient and happy to show me absolutely everything. I end up with:

1g Amnesia €13
1g Big Buddha cheese €13
1g Mean green Martian €13/14

The 24k looked great and smelled fantastic but I didn't buy it.
We got some drinks and grabbed a spot by the verdampers which I immediately threw a .4 from the Amnesia bag into.
To be honest I’m not a great fan of Hollands most over-engineered vaping device. There’s far too much water and therefore far too much flavour loss. Plus - there’s no point dicking about loading a 0.2. It goes no-where in this device (unlike the mighty/crafty/firefly etc).
Its saving grace is a massive milky bong hit of vapour. Boom - headshot.

The Amnesia is on point. Godammn I love this lady. Super strong with a phenomenal taste. Nice texture too - I’d only ever bought one bag (Kosher) from Baba’s old location and nearly threw it away it was that bad. This is better - much better. Perhaps a bit too citric for my tastes - but there’s loads of herbal incense and spice, the metallic sugary finish is almost indescribable.
7.9 - Excellent.

As we sit and chat in front of old Ganesh there - perhaps craziest of all gods. I’m conscious of the last of the summer sun scorching the square outside. But I’m faded from the Verdamper and the pure fatty of LA Fire that I’m smoking. Plus - Mike is telling me fascinating stuff about his work which keeps me rooted to the spot for a good hour. Eventually though it’s a natural time to move on - we’re both thinking about sunshine so decide to have a picnic down by the water where we smoked on the first day.

So - we headed back to Centraal station; to the Albert hein on the waters edge and staked a spot on the boardwalk, watched the boats, watched the craszy swing at the top of the craszy building. Smoked some, eat some falafel, quinoa and feta salads, knitted some yoghurt, smoked some more. It’s a lovely couple of hours just whiling away the day - gently bobbing about on the pier.

The LA kush and LA fire from Coffeeshop canalside are interesting ladies, there is lots of complexity in the palate of both I am struggling to put my finger the difference between the two examples. Lovely smooth smokes though both of them. Perhaps one is leaning towards the LA Confidential. There’s a rounder, deeper note. Gorgeous - both of them. We vape through a good gram of them sat here in the sunshine.

Unfortunately - my business partner at home has been forwarding work requests from one of our clients to my phone and he’s missed called me again since I spoke to him back at Baba. I can’t put it off any longer and some unfortunate stomach troubles means the tranquility, ambience and my time with Mike are cut short. It’s been fantastic to have some decent time to hang out with him and get to know each other better. Needs must though - I say my goodbyes as Mike is flying home in a few hours and cycle back to the hotel, crack my laptop open and get my head down for a few hours. Cheeky dabs and vapes get me through and of course I have a timer running - which facilitates return trips - so al is gut.

As the sun sets I’m just wrapping up a doob for the journey north and checking in with Abe. We rendezvous at Dampkring in the Spui. I buy nothing as the stash is still in good supply and DLN hasn’t even sampled the G13 Rosin I made yet. There’s smoking to be done. We head off immediately via El Guapo.

I’ve never been before - well, I walked out once because the queue was too long but I’ve never bought anything. So I grab a bag of Diesel from possibly the most uncommunicative bud tender I’ve ever been muted by. Not a single word did he utter - not one. This is Green Place level sullen. Impressive.

The bag smells great though - just like the O’Diesel shatter I’m dabbing on at home. I don’t try it till the day after though. Where I’ll be pleasantly surprised by the taste. Heavy on the tangerine and fuel terpene profile she has a lovely light finish through the vape. I only get three bowls out of the bag - which is something of a surprise. Probably down to the slightly damp nature of the product. Think I paid €14 for those three vape bowls. Pricey.
7.5 - Great flavour, not great finishing, didn’t go very far. Marked back accordingly.

We don’t stay - Utopia is open. Gapie is there so we say a quick hello and get a heads up on what he’s smoking from their menu - it’s a buy and fly for us as we’re heading for food. I grab a gram of the Cherry Bomb and the 24k.

Soon enough another Batavia sesh ensues. We get through a few of the days purchases I’ve been saving for DLN to taste.

The Cheese from baba is banging. She’s a light and sugary cheese, yes there’s a dank background but she’s predominantly sweet on the palate with a lovely cheesy exhale. Texturally she’s nice and dry, still sticky (but needs grinding rather than finger crunch).
In the bag are dark pine trees with light orange almost pinky hairs. Something of a looker.
7.9 - Impressive; a new cheese flavour for me.

The Cherry bomb from utopia tastes like cough sweets. A non-kushy ‘Indica’ - notably. As indeed described by the helpful bud-tender.
We vape it and the specimen is tasty all the way to the end of the bowl. Raw cookie dough and cinnamon notes come through the middle. with the cherry cough syrup vibe all on the exhale. Definitely the most impressive bag of cherry flavoured weed I've ever bought.
Very enjoyable from the vape.
Good texture too - good sticky bugs that easily crunch between the fingers. A slightly elongated structure to the flowers. High in CBD is my guess. The bag lasted a couple days as I picked at her with the vape.
7.9 - fantastic

24k
Boom oranges and diesel mixed with rotten pond funk. Kosher and tangie - what a team. Two of the strongest terpene profiles on the block duking it put for first place. Loudest flavour so far. Full marks on this from the vape. So moreish - if this weren’t €16 I’d be smoking her all day long.
8.0 - Oh yeah. That’s some baaaaaad weed

I have high hopes for Baba’s Mean green Martian - she’s a constituent part of Sleestack along with G13 so I’m looking forward to trying her. Unfortunately she doesn't fare so well on through the vape. I'll burn her tomorrow. Tastebuds can get confused sometimes. I often think that getting the best from a strain is sometimes either about the consumption methods; or it’s consumptive neighbours.

We have dabs, lots of dabs. About 10pm DLN stops talking (for once :D). Probably creating Kingbee alters on ACD or some other level-five social media fuckery. He heads off around 11ish. I’m hungry. I eat everything.
Once my belly is sated. I grab the steed and head south with a plan in mind.

A solo doobie of Martian mean green in De Graal my favourite smoke-hole. Technically it’s ‘tomorrow’ now. She fares better burnt.
She's predominantly lime and gassy with a hint of hash plant in the top notes. There's some citrus but it's sour apples rather than lemon sharp. My second time with this strain and I like her a lot. Much better burnt this time - odd, the bag I bought at Old Church in June was better vaped. There's complexity behind those familiar flavours.

It’s a lovely hour, I vape through some more bits and pieces sit quietly and think about how good Amsterdam life is.

Nice work, yet again! :D

...Could have been persuaded to crawl to the new Baba myself now... Never liked the old shop... Neither quality, nor atmosphere really did it for me, but the lure of a really well done Amnesia might have just twisted my arm... The more citric, the better!

...Cheers!

Day 3

This is getting silly now - 8:30am on the dot; one eye open - sunny day? Check. Eye two open - e-nail still fired up and ready to go? Check. Another hour’s sleep might be a possibility. A cheeky dab then? Ahhhhh everything is wooly again. 9:30am - Result! We’ll call that a lie in then - a few vape bowls and a lazy shower and I’m raring to go. Grabbing my bike from the rack outside the sun is blazing again - it’s got to be 27 degrees already. Bonkers

I get my phone out. Fire up Google maps and type ‘breakfast’. The digital first-world equivalent of the blind-map-pin-push. Resultantly - I head to ‘The Breakfast Club’ for....

Image

Out in the oud west the breakfast club establishment is set in a picturesque square with a mix of commercial and mid-low rise residential buildings. The interior is typically industrial, as is the current vogue.

A nice selection of lesbian teas (as my oh so unpolitically incorrect Yorkshire buddy likes to call them) and an interesting menu. I plump for the Mexican. Breakfast burrito, Avacado, Salad, Two eggs and Jalepeno. Topped off with a Jasmine tea and an OJ (no hipster jar this time). Quite a plate of food, beautifully prepared and a hearty meal compared to what you’d get in Barney’s for the same money.

It's a leisurely start to the day - I still feel like I've got all the time in the world with a full three days left before I go home. The sun blazes in through the floor to ceiling windows so I park - cat like in the baking heat as I let my breakfast settle. Glorious.

A coffeeshop plan is forming. I have all day before DLN is free from corporate enslavement so I may as well get a menu together in time for the evening sessions.

1e hulp is reasonably close to my location and I've not checked their menu out yet. I figure a quick stop by would be a good start to the days strain hunting.

It's only 12ish but the shop is already rammed so I join the queue and quietly peruse my choices from afar. Why all shops can't see the benefit of having the menu writ large for all to see is beyond me. Having to line up just to see a menu is an annoyance that often puts me off even entering if the shop is too busy.

There are a couple of bits worth waiting for. On initial menu inspection the Strawberry fire alien and Lemon walker pique my interest. The latter due to its genetics rather than the nose from the tray which is somewhat unremarkable. Not so the fire alien - stinky. And it looks like the fuego. Deal.

For a change the music has some sophistication - a good mix of classic 80's hip hop. That'll do me - and I'm conscious of needing to spend more time with the crocketts Dawg and notorious og from voyagers which I've been picking st all week.

Crocketts Dawg is an interesting OG Kush lineage derivative. Creamy tropical fruits with a hint of Chem funk behind the desert spice. There's lemon sure - she's an OG at her core but the citrus is a back note. There's a bitterness in that fruity middle too. A bit 'middle of a kiwi fruit'. Interesting stuff. Vaped mainly. Needed grinding so not perfect texture.
7.8 I've found some great OG this trip.

Notorious OG
Lemons. Gas. Hindu herbal throat scratch and pond scum. Say no more.
8.0 Fucking gorgeous.

The Diesel that I bought in El guapo for €14 last night isn't the best looking bag I've ever bought - late night buys in the dam rarely are as the re-ups generally stop late afternoon it seems.

It does have great flavour though. Orange gas lamp with a sweet sugary finish. I only Vaped it though as the bag was pretty wet so I only got 3 bowls in total. Expensive.
I'd have to score it low for the finish though - 7.3 at best. Dissapounting score for my first guapo score I'm afraid.

Well. I'm ducking baked. And it's dark in here ACD. I'm still sat in 1e Hulp and I've been typing furiously at you lot and vaping hard for an hour at least. It's time to find me some new flavours. I got skittles and kushdee on the mind. Heard then mentioned - know their location. Sights set. Let's go.

Crispy as fuck? Oh yes - rozengracht is packed - bit intense! I make a right and meander through the side streets - relief palpable welcome indeed. Soon I'm zipping along at full speed grinning like a loon again.

Grey area is packed. Zkittlez not on the menu. Bust!

Bagheera.
Caboose dry sift is sticky minty black. I wanted something loose flowery and fluffy for pressing
No buy!

Voyagers has the kushdee. She smells like a beauty. And at €11ish almost a bargain.
Score!
Onwards.

Image
Siberia pit stop.
It seems Highly Blessed is right - everyone is selling her, I've seen her on at least four menus over the past few days so I finally plump for the shoreline. €15's worth of purple scraggle please miss devastatingly handsome Dutch lady. The nose is good. Fucking expensive scraggle that!

Whooooah - when popped the bag offers a massive hit of deep red berries and sour grapes. The floral notes through the middle are missing in this darker pheno but that's ok. The lack of bag appeal is hands down forgotten as soon as I taste her.
Oh shoreline. You lovely lady - all is forgiven.
7.7 fantastic. Scraggle. Contradiction in terms? You decide.

I can't help but express it again! The cycling is awesome. I feel like I've done a full days menu crunching and I've only been out three hours! For those intrepid readers that are serious about finding new flavours and often find themselves buying less than perfect product simply because of the distance between destinations - stop thinking about it. Get a bike.

I've got a decent stash again and don't really feel like spending anything else for the time being so I decide to head back to the hotel, charge the vape and do a few dabs. Perhaps grab a shower before heading back out. One more bowl though, I'm gonna vape more Baba's big Buddha cheese. Gimme five I'll report back....
Lovely.

Ok and another - easy times terrible strawberry haze.
Total pish - smells fake, tastes of nothing. No idea why I bought it.

Maybe now is a good time to move? I think some more.

Eventually the deal is sealed when the music moves away from welcome classic stoner rock into bagpipe avant-garde clamour. I kid you not. Time to get the fuck out of dodge.

Along the way I find myself at a familiar point along the Singel - so I jump off the steed for a quick stop at grey area and a squidge at the silver bubble.
Pants.
No buy!

After a shower I feel refreshed and the sun is still shining so I grab a quiet spot in the Vondelpark by the water behind a tree and get Vaped. First in the mighty is kushdee, she's a little bit underwhelming given the amazing nose from the bag so I crack out my grass glass recycler and burn a little in the beautiful afternoon sunshine - accepting some nice reggae vibes from the system behind me. Smashing - just enough time for a quick sesh before DLN is free from the shackles of the man.

The kushdee isn’t faring well so far, how can this be? The nose is all candy and velvet grapes. Tropical and exotic. Bah. I decide to put the bag away and try again later. I hate it when that happens.

Maybe a palate reset is the key? I burn some of siberies shoreline in the bubbler, she's better but not by much. Finally I get a result with the 24k - familiar flavours coating my tongue.

I don't want to smoke too much as I know it will impair my tastebuds but I try a little spot of 1e hulps lemon walker. Subtle but interesting - I'll give her a whirl through the mighty later.

Hoorah! I also find a bowl’s worth of baba Big Buddha Cheese so I burn that in the bubbler too. That has been a really impressive bag of weed. I don’t normally go for that flavour so when I find a good one - it really seems to resonate. This example is different - and enjoyed a really nice flavour transfer both when vaped and burnt. I'd have to rate it a good 8.0 in hindsight. Excellent stuff.

My time in the park is drawing to and end - one final vape bowl in the sun before I set sail for the evening sessions.
24K. Definitely a contender for flavour of the trip.

1e Hulps Strawberry Fire Alien

It's finally time to relieve DLN from his corporate maesters - so I cruise north in a rosy haze heading for his offices. I'm early for once! Something goes through the mighty - enjoyed in the sun. He’s out front in no time so we cruise back to the centre heading down into the RLD where we meet a member of the local scene and and procure some of his lovely full spectrum Bubble hash (nl5 x green poison) for the princely sum of €30. Awesome - that'll get squished later.

The Cannabis College is our destination. Maria is there so it’s good to see here but she leaves pretty soon and that was the only time I bumped into her all week - she always has great stories to tell. No doubt I’ll see her again soon. DLN presses out some LA kush rosin and we shoot the shit for a while talking bubble hash methodology with our new friend. It’s a lovely relaxing hour or two and we’re all kicked out at closing time 7pm sharp.

I’ve never been out to Boreojongens location in the west so we fly across town in the early evening traffic bobbing and weaving our way across gracht after gracht until their familiar logo pops into sight. The shop is light and airy - apothecary style just like Utrechtstraat. It’s similar vibe across the road at Bij, we have a look at both menus and I eventually plump for a gram of Choco cookies at €11.
My brother swears he paid only €9 for this back in July so I’m not 100% sure I’ve got the price correct.

It is a LOT better than the price tag might suggest. Minty yes - not my favourite profile. Chocolatey - yeah, definitely. It’s comes out better when burnt than vaped. Tasty though - sweet and skunky in places, Cakey and doughy in others; there's a vague hint of citric sharpness too. They're all subtle flavours but it's an enjoyable bag. For the price it's great and probably one of my favourite purchase of the trip.
7.9 - I’d definitely buy that again

We’re plotting a final destination - somewhere we can dab, smoke up and is fairly central. Also - a re-up from Coffeeshop Canalside is in order so a bit of phone wrangling and we’re soon north bound, heading for the Spui. Where we sesh upstairs in the corner of the Doors Palace. First time for me here and I like the place - no frills, a bit spit and sawdust. Sound. I grab a 5g bag of SSH from coffeeshop canalside which will easily turn out to be the bag of the trip when judged on the potency/flavour vs value for money scale. beautiful smooth smoke with a hint of strawberry coming through the metallic citrus haze. Dependable - strong. Exotic. My all-time favourite flavour I think - on balance.

It’s a great sesh - we dab, smoke and chat. Beyond that I can’t remember a damn thing; I know they both chipped off around 11ish and me soon after. It probably involved stroop waffles and pizza - as an educated guess.
Bed time!

Day 4

I wake up feeling like a change of pace is afoot. It’s around 9:30am when I finally get out of bed and unfortunately I have a few emails from my partner needing help with a project we’re working on. So it’s a somewhat delayed start to the days proceedings. I shower - grab a coffee and pastry from around the corner and head back to my room for a few hours.

In between working and phone-calls I manage to press rosin from the bubblehash that we bought yesterday. It’s full spectrum 38U to 130u NL5 x Green Poison. Through the bubbler it’s - ok. It tastes like hash. Sure. Beyond that - subtle minty notes. Meh.
The resultant Rosin however - much better. Subtle floral and fruity with a peppery mint finish. It yields well too - easily above 50%. Fantastic. I have a cheeky dab off the slab and pocket the rest to split with DLN. The hashman had also very kindly given me the remainder of a 4/20 Elite Cup BHO sample. So I finish that too. Pretty tasty - I’d guess at an OG or a diesel - something equally gassy and lemony for sure. I figure that I may as well complete the quintet at this point; so an Ambrosia Extracts sky walker kush dab and a g13 Rosin dab form a tidy wake and bake and help the work trot along nicely.

I’m not actually feeling brilliant this morning. This cold is catching up with me - symptoms driving me mad. The weather has taken a turn towards October - drizzle and grey skies are an unfortunate turn of events and I’ve discovered much to my annoyance that I can buy weed legally here - but not Sudafed. What the actual fuck? Sniffles it is then. Fucking lemon drink with paracetamol. May as well shove lemons up me arse for all the good that will do me - I need pharmaceuticals.

Anyway - despite my pissing and moaning and the drizzle - the cycle uptown from Vondel park does me wonders and by the time I hit the Brouwersgracht (by mistake rather than actual navigation prowess if truth be told). The delights of Haarlemmerstraat seem the obvious choice.

I figure a change is in order and head to Barneys uptown. No idea why. I order an overpriced but lovely fresh mint tea with honey - vape some bowls and ask for the food menu.
I wait. And vape. And wait, vape… you get the picture. This momentary lapse in capitalist greed on behalf of the Barney’s massive is giving me way too much time to thing about whether I really want to spend another €12 on a breakfast bagel. Even give my lazy, deeply stoned and sorry sick arse, I’m not that fucking stupid.

Plus. I like drum and bass - especially this dubstep / reggae crossover vibe that’s playing. But not for breakfast, not this loud, not when I'm poorly and not at these fucking prices. La Grotte then. A slightly more laid back dance music vibe and cheaper food. It suits. Yes I’m boring.

What do I think of 1e hulp's wares then?

The strawberry fire alien is disappointing and simultaneously ok. Bear with me. This example doesn't deliver in terms of pure tongue coating flavour but what is there is pleasant. It's also the nicest finished bag of product I've bought at Eerste hulp in a couple of years. Good crunchy texture and a lovely smooth smoke. I know this strain has potential to be the fire. It's not quite there in this bag but a single gram is not a good test sample of anything. Certainly not an entire commercial grow.

I make sure to try the bag multiple times through either the vape, bubbler as I've got high hopes for her. It's just not to be - both parent signature notes are present but the OG funk is diluted by the gentler nature of strawberry cough.
7.8 - Nice, just no cigar.

Burning a fattie of CS canalside's SSH as part of the palate reset program is again a real treat. Fucking beautiful. Like smooth silver sage and spice, there's more strawberry in this than the fire alien. Subtle berry notes and lots of lemon when vaped. Definitely the best bag of the trip on balance. Nice clear high too. Lovely stuff.

It's raining hard now. Boo. Gone is the summer dream. October is definitely here. There's no escaping it - might as well get to a coffeeshop and relax. It really is pouring down so figuring that a change of clothes will be in order later I decide to head south so I'm close to the hotel.

Chugging off through the rain isn’t as much fun. And I am piss wet through by the time I’ve hit the flower market.

Giving Easy Times another chance seems like the sporting thing to do. It’s pretty close; Copenhagen Couple and others have been saying great things so my experience must have been a bad buy. Plus there are a bunch of other coffeeshop options nearby. I head straight there , lock up the steed and head inside to dry off.

The trays are better stocked this time. Apart from the kosher unfortunately which is obviously very popular. The Reek'n smells good but I've smoked a lot of kush. The green crack looks fantastic and smells great. She's my lady. I get a lovely looking nug that is well looked after, sparkling and vibrant. It has great texture too - dense, crunchy and well dried. Better - much better. Pricey yes - but definitely better.

Before I tuck in to the Green Crack I load the last of the…

Kushdee - Voyagers €11
Could be the disappointment of the trip. Absolutely fantastic nose but I'm getting very little from the taste, despite a multitude of consumption techniques over a number of sessions. It’s Vaguely kushy, kind of fruity but really nondescript and honestly it’s just well - meh. Boo. I've been really digging on Voyagers products recently. But even though it smells a million dollars in the bag - this one isn't doing it for me. Weird.

The Green Crack from Easy Times is great however. A dark green, sticky little tree. Stinky as all hell. Distinct notes of lime, apples and tropical fruits. The bottom end is dry and herbaceous but the juicier elements keep things light in the throat. Great finishing on this bud. Impressive stuff.

I’m much happier with that buy than the ‘unfortunate’ Strawberry Haze. But I'm wet and cold. A hot shower and a warm room is in order. While I’m out I figure that I might as well fly-by all of the local establishments and see what's cracking.

Rookies has an interesting menu. I've been here before a couple of years ago and wasn't impressed due to the noxious and downright cancerous tobacco room but there's now a strong no Tobacco message upon entry which is totally cool with me and and a marked improvement from my last visit - so things are looking up.

I buy raspberry kush and a lovely example of blue dream for €13.70 and €14.10 respectively, and oddly.

The service is excellent - super helpful, super efficient and delivered with a smile. I'm having s great time already - forgetting all about being wet I decide to stay and sample my wares. They're also absolutely fine with me plugging the vape in too. Not one of the staff here are above 25 years old and I’d wager one or two under 21. Perhaps some of the more the mature and professional service I've had yet this trip. Take note Green Place / El Guapo please.

I get the front window seat with a green tea, a mars bar and settle in. Watching the rainy street is cosy from the darkened room.
The place is Dutch brown bar style with low lighting, lower tables and wooden stools but it's comfy enough and the ambience makes up for the lack of cushions. There's a good mix of patrons chatting beneath the varied and relaxing music. Everything from reggae to r&b, soft seventies rock and beyond. Lovely.

Both the Blue Dream and Raspberry Kush have bag appeal. The BD particularly is a fantastic looking nug. This crop is well looked after and it shows. Great product, a step up from anything else I've seen over the past few days. Voyagers don't do bad but this is really well presented bud.

It has a lovely little outside terrace area with five or six tables and a bench. Seating for 10-15 people easily on a day with a sunnier outlook than today. Sitting here with a smile on my face I resolve to return more often. This is my vote for favourite coffeeshop of the trip so far. I shall spend more time here in future.

Raspberry kush.
The sweet and subtle berry notes aren't overpowered by the kushy spice. It’s fresh and light as described by the menu.
The nug has great texture, pungent sticky grounds that cling to your fingers. Lovely. I had some BHO made from this strain at home recently so I'm pleasantly surprised at the familiar flavour.
7.9 - Not quite loud enough to make an eight for me. But this is a nice bag.

Blue Dream.
Strong fruity notes from the DJ short blueberry with light sugary haze notes dancing aground the sherbet top end. Floral through the exhale she's complex and enjoyable. More sticky smelly delights from the grinder tell me that this has similarly good finishing.
This was perhaps the best looking nug I saw all week. Heavy on the haze end of the phenotypic variation - no bad thing.
7.95 - Another beauty

It's been a lazy day due to the shift in weather - I’ve only visited two shops today. I've been sat here in rookies for a good couple hours now and have throughly enjoyed my stay. Many straggling bags have been finished. I've added to and amended a number of reviews but it’s time for a change of surroundings now.

Early evening has somehow rolled around - I head back to the hotel and shower which is a welcome relief. A nice half-hour stoned snoozle is just what the doctor ordered.

In keeping with the change of pace. I’ve received a very kind invitation from DLN and his lovely girlfriend to head to their place for the evening. Artisan pizzas, volcanos, dabs, chats and chills over High Maintenance on HBO. We get super high on balloons tasting loads of flavours and it’s a good chance to get to know my new buddies away from the coffeeshop scene. What a lovely evening.

I leave around 11 as these two are up for work in the morning - scheming a cheeky late night stop at De Graal for a night-cap.
I haven’t bought anything from their menu yet this trip so decide to go with a bag of Kristalica at €12 and roll the lot into a celebratory doob. It is absolutely excellent. Tropical, fruity and smooth with an enveloping velvet face buzz. There's a hint of afghani or Morrocan floral spice but it doesn't dry out the palate too much. There are similarities with shoreline, Rainbow Jones and all the purple lines but this has a rounder fruit punch. Absolutely excellent finish. Excellent product - bio organic grown is my guess.
8.0 - Right up my street and another lovely couple hours in De Graal reading Game of Thrones.

I also finally get around to finishing the bag of lemon walker from 1e hulp. It's much better burnt than it was from the vape where DLN pronounced her ''wank' the previous evening. It's mainly lemon and piney but pretty unremarkable otherwise. A bit meh to be honest. Decent finishing sure - a good enough flush and finish but there’s not enough flavour to tempt me to buy her again. There's none of the interesting savoury sweet character of the Mazar x blueberry mix from her Sky Walker parent which is ultimately a disappointment.
She's not unpleasant - just not remarkable.
7.3 - hmmmm

I still have a good 4 maybe 5 g's left of various bit’s and pieces. Plus some oil to dab at the hotel when I get back and for my wake and bake. That Should be plenty.
Famous last words.
Bed time.
