Re: Solo Trip (3rd - 5th Jan)
Just checked in at the Best Western Blue Cube, not that far of a walk i first thought from from Paradox (15 mins or so, though I power walk when hazed up).
Arrived in town at about 10:15am, lugged my luggage around town towards the Moaz (falafel) in central - to find it wasn't open yet. Wandered back up towards central station & then to Voyages. 1g of Gorrilla Glue & Silver Bubble purchased with a beverage.
Sat next to a Scottish lad & rolled around .4/5 of the SB into silver mini-rizla. Smooth, decent taste. Effects set in pretty quick, set me into observer mode for a a little while, people watching out of the window, started to really relax just as the Scottish guy was leaving - at which point I did a clumsy initiation of conversation. Quite comedic really. He mentioned Easy Times & 1e though so may see him again. At this point I'm starting to settle, feeling uplifted, clear-headed & quite nicely medicated. Ask to see Testing Tuesday #1 as I get sorted to make a mooch. Smells musky, slightly sweet & spicey. Hybrid apparently. 1g bought & pre-roll half of it for the walk.
Head out in search for Blue Bird with the mini of TT (nice flavour, smoot). Find itt to be quite busy but spoke to a guy called Pape who was welcoming. Ask if he can watch my luggage. Head upstairs & order a large orange juice & after a little confusion on how the ganj'-counter operated, I speak to the budtender - I ask about G13 Haze but none left. Amensia? She says it's good today along with the Lemon Haze. It occurs to me the effects of the TT are setting in. Feeling good.
I ask how they compare & decided on 'functional' over 'dreamy'. 1g of the LH please, & also a g of what's good on the hash / polm menu. Asked if I want a darker oily hash or a drier, lighter kind. Brought out one kind I can't remember the name of. Tbh, the name of the one I got has slipped my memory too. "Sarreas" is the most I can conjure up, what looks like "saepm" is wirtten on the bag.
Very sweet & peppery smell, lovely. Becomes a little malleable after pinching for a few seconds. Been a long time since I've had quality hash so looking forward to indulging on the evenings. Sat & chilled with Pape for half an hour or so, seems a sound dude. He mentions De Pijp, which I reply it's on my list. Part ways & head towards Maoz.
Falfafell & salad finished & then decide to start making my way towards Paradox & then to the hotel from there. Get a little confused, end up near Easy Timess call in. Ask to see the Strawberry Haze. Looks & smells lovely, ask about the burn & told it's nice. 2gs please.
Place is pretty packed so stand near the packets of fruit tea & proceed to pre-roll a mini of the SH, setting off towards Paradox. Feeling very light & hazed when I arrive. Manage to score a stool against the right-hand wall & ask what's good. Moby Dick is recommended, 1g with .4g of something I cant recall. Roll & smoke the .4 & check out the MD. Very earthy, not very sweet at all. Wasn't too impressed with this compared to the rest of todays samples, but after having .5 in a pre-roll as I walked to the hotel proved to be a little surprising in flavour over effect.
Just found about 2 mini doobs in my bag from the night before (prohibited Incredible Bulk & No Name), so there's my pre-rolls back into town. Planning on hitting a 1e Hulp & then Sibrie (sp?) for their CBD hash. From there I'm not too sure, maybe head up towards Resin & then onto Haarlemerstraat for Dampkrig.

Solo Trip (3rd - 5th Jan)
Yesterday, Part 2:
Left hotel for Loving Hut (Admiraal de Ruijterweg 334, 1055 MZ) - superb food. Had some tempah skewers & noodle soup with dumblings. This place reminds me of a tiny independent veggie cafe at home. Will be back. The soup, which was more of a stock, helped clear my throat from todays session. Felt brand new when leaving the place
Walked to Albert Heijn, score some choc Oreos, fruit & milk, along with 2 Clif bars reduced by 35%. Emergency munchies at the ready, I set off towards 1eHulp. Queue is streaming outside the place so decide to walk to Siberie. After the 1st bridge on Singel there's an old clock tower, noticed a chim that sounded like it was a ringtone. Look up to see it has a digital clock face. Found this more interesting than what it is now that I think about it the following morning.
Sibeire is busy but not packed. More buy & flys. First time here, chill place & good music. The budtenders are lively & in good spirits, swaying & singing to the music. Speak to one of the budtenders quite extensively, get a hash which the name escapes me. Cost 9e I was told it's what she's smoking herself. Ask for g of the CBD Red ??? too & to see the Jack H on the weed. Looked & smelled pretty nice, & for 8e took a g. Poor flush & though it still smokes it's not exactly enjoyable. Hashes are / were lovely (the CBD being number 2 of the 2 but still having good effect, as I found out later).
Ordered an Earl Grey & sat down to roll up some of the days stock. Left at about 11:15 I think to walk up through Haarlemerstraat (sp?) towards Dampkring 2 but find I'd spent all the money I'd brought out with me so make for the walk back. 20 minutes or so & a pre-roll later & I'm back. Find out I have enough of the Testing Tuesday #1 left for a 2 skin beast, mixed with some of the Moby Dick for Paradox & hashes from Siberie (heavy on the CBD stuff). Smokes superbly. Heavy headed I head to bed.
Gonna' make the trip to 1eHulp again today, want to hit Utopia but may leave that until tomorrow or call in today on my way to Voyagers. Want to sample more from there & make a long-shot enquiry. Having no suitecase & a 12kg backpack to lugg about makes all the difference

Re: Solo Trip (3rd - 5th Jan)
Walked into town, passed Koffie Ende Koeck for some quality non-medicated & animal-friendly edibles, cut through Jordan & past Grey Area at 11:50 to see a line of about 18-20 people waiting outside.
Currently sat in Utopia. Escaped a downpour just as I was getting seated. No Citral (sp?) on the menu. Asked what's best in terms of flush for Sativas & shown the Peach Haze at 13e. Very smooth, light grey ash, not huge on taste but nice enough. First doob is creeping on nicely. Clearheaded, kinda fuzzy feeling.
Photos from my phone are too large apparently but will sort that out later.
Want to hit Voyagers from here & then food. From there, not quite sure yet.

If you're trying to use the Attachments thing, I've always been told whatever I want to attach is too large. The only way I know that works is to put them on something like Photobucket, then use the URL provided.jazzcigarettequartet wrote:Photos from my phone are too large apparently but will sort that out later.
Re: Solo Trip (3rd - 5th Jan)
So I hate to be that buzzkill, but if you buy discounted/marked-down items out Albert Heijn, you don't receive the savings, unless you have, and remember to hand the clerk your very own "bonuskaart" (bonus-card) to be scanned.
Just to drop some knowledge, it's free to pick one up at any register in any AH, you don't have to even register the card, just detach from the pamphlet and swipe away!!!

Re: Solo Trip (3rd - 5th Jan)
After leaving Utopia for Voyagers I found it pretty empty. Spoke to the budtender briefly, then turned round & found it starting to fill up quickly. Asked a question I didn't feel was appropriate during a busy time but the BT seemed fine in conversing with me, sadly however he couldn't help me directly with my search. I asked to see the Scotts OG (15e) & if the Silver Bubble is the same batch as the day before, which it was so I took a g of both. Scotts OG proved to be a heavy-hitter mixed with some hashes I had that night. A little harsh towards the last half of a doob, but smooth enough & fairly tasty. A good all-rounder. SB was a choice smoke - thoughts on that batch are above.jazzcigarettequartet wrote:Want to hit Voyagers from here & then food. From there, not quite sure yet.
Opting for a buy & fly instead, I set off from Voyagers towards Haarlemerstrat for Dampkring 2. Decided to take a longer route to walk passed Vegabond for food. Spent about 10 minutes inside & came out with nearly 20e in confectionary & deserts...not exactly the meal I was looking for
Decide from there to go to a Moaz again & then to 1eHulp on my walking route back to the hotel. 1eHulp was a lot less busier than the evening prior so decide to sit in & chill for a while. Checked out the Mango Haze & Fruity Pebbles. Fruity Pebbles recommended for it's flush / cure quality, & having enough Sativa / Hazes I took a g of the FP. Sat out back after buying a g of the NicolexNicole ("excellent choice sir, it's what i'm smoking myself") & proceeded to sit in the middle of two groups of youths to roll up some pre-rolls & smoke....
"I'm so scared in case I fall off my chair,
& I'm wondering how I'll get down those stairs
Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right,
Here I am, stuck in the middle with you"
It occured to me about a third down the second J that I had accidently mixed an indica into the hazes I ground up. With some of the hash (Saerra (sp?) from Siberie & Nicole) I was starting to fade fast. Swift exit after still managing to take my rubbish / cup & returning the house grinder. The walk back to the hotel definitely felt A LOT longer compared to when smoking Sativas. Will an indica hit harder when smoked after an all-day Sativa sesh? It felt it anyway
Chilled at the hotel for a bit, pre-rolled the ends of what I had left & set off for Boerejongens blazing along the way. Walked through Overtoom park as part of a mini detour. Make it to Boerejongens West to find quite a long queue. Mostly locals by the looks of it, noticed there was a lot of clientele in work uniforms for various courier services. The interior looks very nice in my opinion - warm, wooden & modern but also minimalist. The budtender here was immensly attentive, spending about 5 minutes talking to me with a queue behind (there was 3 other budtenders).
Asked what he would recommend & he proceeded to bring out about 4 strains he's smoking himself. One was in his opinion a little too fresh (he advised it was a good choice if I wanted to cure it myself over a few days - it still looked lovely though in all honesty), another too dry my his own standards & the other two were just right.
As I was thinking it through he then says he had some "serious white rhino" in earlier but it may have all went. He comes back with a little more than g, I take a look & it's a done deal. Also ask to see the hash menu but everything is sold out apart from the top 3 on the pricing list. I didn't even ask but he offers to show me them which I accept. There's a g left of the 20e block hash so I ask if he can do a .5 for me to test out. Sorted. As he's packing the other products away & boxing up the hash, he tells me the Green Melt block hash at 10e is super good today & that if i can be back at about 8pm there'll be another drop of it, or alternatively try the other shop they have 500m down the road. Superb service, big him all the best & make for the other shop.
Get there to find it just as busy as the other one, again with mostly locals & again most of their hash out of stock. I ask for another recommendation on the Sativas & he pulls out some Amazing Haze. Amazing indeed, so take a g. Roll it all into 2 a long with a white rhino jay for the walk back. Figure at this stage I'll just count the Green Melt block as a missed opportunity & head back for food at the Loving Hut before retiring back to the hotel. Smoked a lot of indicas & hashes that night, which became an absolute chore after the Scotts OG - going downstairs to smoke outside, then back up, even for just 3 floors in a lift, seemed to take ages.
Woke up the next day at about 10:45, puddin' eyed & having to make bit of a dash to get checked out by 12pm. Head to the Loving Hut for food again, end up giving 30e for the bill saying to keep the change (about 8e I think). Have the grand idea of usinga referal code for Uber so I can get a free ride into town. Get dropped off at Utopia & ask to see the Blue Dream at 16e. I figure fuck it, I'll take a g to smoke. Really nice, smooth & decent flavour - packed a punch as I found out after leaving - but very pricey at 16e. Pre-roll 2 Js of the last of the Fruity Pebbles, Scotts OG & some other indicas with a load of hash. Also roll up the rest of the Blue Dream & what I think was Silver Bubble.
It's at this point I notice I have a message from a trusty member on here giving me a bit advice on tracking down info on a certain bakery. Figure I've only got 40 or so mins left & wouldn't have time to properly make an enquiry, so leave it for this trip. End up in Resin where I ask if it's cool if I just buy a beverage to smoke my last - the guy reluctantly agrees but props to him for letting me do so. In there I blaze the Sativa J.
A couple of irish lads take a seat next me who'd just arrived. Sparks up a jay of Sour D (I think) & we have a few words, sharing a few tokes. I end up leaving him the little pot I had with the ends of the various hashes I'd accumulated along with the poorly flushed stuff I got from Siberie (I explained that to him, figuring that if he mixes with tobacco at any point it'd probably be an ok smoke)........
There's probably parts I've missed or simply forgotten. I'll re-read it all over the next few days & add anything I can, a long with some photos. Got back this afternoon with a nice mix of souvenirs. Maybe some photos of that later, but don't expect any indication of what's what

Fantastic read - thanks for writing it up. Really enjoyed it
