Organic?

Post by geoffk »

How might I find out if a weed/hash is organic? I have seen the word bio to describe organic fruits and veggies in Europe, but I thought it didn't mean the same in dope growing terms. Next time I visit the Dam, I'd like to find some organic weed.

Basically you wanna ask for bio organic, i.e. grown in soil (bio) and with organic nutrients. Most good coffeeshops carry a decent range of bio organic weeds, but if you go to 420, Grey Area, Home Grown Fantasy, Green House Effect, Coin or Amnesia and ask the dealer nicely for some bio organic, specify sativa/indica/hybrid and strength, you will very likely not be disappointed by the choices presented to you. Being amsterdam there are at least a dozen other fantastic shops for good weed, so have fun searching and finding...

Thanks SBX_DK,

I'm trying to talk my wife into going for my third trip (hopefully sooner than later) and she's very much into organic. I've been meaning to try Grey Area, but haven't got around to it. I've had good luck with smoke at a couple of the other Greenhouses though.

My pleasure dude, hope you can convince the wife to go soon ;) If your big on organic you might also wanna check out Paradox, Lem (if I remember correctly he’s a vegetarian) and a few others swear by this place, been meaning to go myself, but it is a bit out of the way in the Jordaan, although it shouldn’t be much of a stroll and the Jordaan is a wonderful place to stroll :) Paradox, on top a featuring organic weed also serve organic food afaik, an added bonus. If ya haven’t been to Grey Area yet and like the green ya need to go asap dude, one of the absolute top places for green, period. I dunno know if you understood it that way but Green House Effect is not associated with Arjan’s Greenhouse Chain (Centrum, Tollstraat, Namaste and the new joint on the breakfast street by Barneys and ex-pink floyd turning Damkring breccy thingy). The Greenhouse chain has been taking a lot of shit the last few years, mainly due to some controversies concerning the cannabis cub (see other threads for more on this), periodic problems with customer service, frantic commercialization, speculations as to the pricing vs. the quality of their products and Arjan’s idiosyncratic personality. That being said there are still many that hail the Greenhouses as top CS’s, I say go to the before mentioned CS plus read up on the other popular shops on this forum (people, especially a lot of the “regulars”, tend to have a good taste and a lot of experience collectively) for a list of must visits and make your own comparison, I promise you will not be disappointed ;) Shops such as those in the Barneys chain, the dampkring chain (Damkring, Tweede kammer and the new place I mentioned) and in many an opinion Amnesia all have very good products (I really like the selection at dampkring and Amnesia, and Barneys usually has a least a few very good products) but are overpriced to some extend. Have fun, it’s hard not to, and keep checking the forums, there is so much good info you could read on for days on end and still find new stuff worth noticing.
