Sea Palace

Anyone been to the Sea Palace by Centraal Station? How is the food? Is it casual or dressy?

If Sea Palace sucks, can you recommend a nice place that is on the casual side for dress? The wife's birthday is on May 6 and I'd like to treat her to a nice/romantic dinner. Plus, it is our honeymoon. :mrgreen:

Leaving in 8 days! Work sucks, get me outta here!

I've haven't been to the Sea Palace, but in 2000 me and my friends frequented Dante's quite a bit. They have some art on walls and it's nice and casual. It was a lot cheaper back then for us, when the dollar was worth more. I don't think it's too pricey though.

It's also in one of my favorite areas; Spui. Dampkring, Tweede Kamer and Dutch Flowers are nearby. There are some cool bars and book stores as well.

On my last trip we ate a two good restaurants:

L'opera in Rembrandtplein:

Not Smart but I did feel better for wearing a shirt! :wink:

Always busy, there is a reservations link... I took my wife for our aniversary and she loved it.

a little bit late.


sea palace is a great place to eat, i try to get to it anytime im in the city, its casual. the food is a little dear, but you get what you pay for, big big portions, the staff are great. all in all a great place to eat out!

Yeah went there last year.....if i remember rightly the Amstel Botel was moored up next to it ( it's moved now )

Food was yummy...and they don't skimp on the portions either.
