"American" Weed in Amsterdam

So ive been noticing lately that there has been some "American" bud being sold at some of the coffeeshops now, including The Green Place, El Guapo, Noon for anywhere from €40-€60 a gram! Unbelievable! Are these actual American imports? Or just american genetics grown in say Spain?
Some of the strains include Gelato and Zkittlez. With a price like that i dont think id try it, seeing as i can go to a legal state in the US and buy them for half the price.
Anyone have any info on these American Starins?
